Ruffling A Few Feathers...

Every time I go shopping, I carefully sort all my purchases into my "NEW" folder, divided by about a dozen sub-folders by category (i.e. SHOES, TOPS, PANTS, Etc.). When I am putting a daily look together, I start by diving into these "NEW" Items, and build a look around at least one of them. I have had this adorable ruffled blouse from "Honey Kitty" for ages, but it always felt very Gothic Lolita to me, until I decided to pair it up with a pair of fabulous high-waisted pants from "PERSONA". This to me looked sharp and modern, and was all 'Woman'.

With such a feminine statement as this blouse, I choose to opt out of over-accessorizing this look. I wanted a little pop of colour, and these amazing shoes from 'Detour' were just the ticket. The 'Glamour Metallic Pumps' come in gold, silver, black, but also this amazing patent-leather like red. I love that they peek out from under these slacks, they add a touch of playful to what could easily have become a very stuffy look. I picked up this amazing hair from "TRUTH" while egg-hunting recently, no eggs for me, but who cares, this 'Damien 2' style is brilliant. I love that "TRUTH" sells their hair in 3-tone packs, including black and white (my two colours of choice), in the SAME pack! A fabulous Elongated clutch from "Muism" is all that was needed to complete this fab fashionista look.

Nicely done! Yes, a piece like your blouse (black, lace, a bit of Victorian) is really tricky, but you successfully created a chic and modern style. Needless to say, very feminine. I think your choice of make-up also contributed for such sophistication.(If your lips were red in this style, it had been totally Goth! Red rouge is always inviting to match with black to me. Tricky.)

Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog every day!
