Going Back To caLLie!

I can remember quite clearly the first time I discovered caLLie cLine, the store. I remember being struck by how pretty and girly and fresh the store looked. How welcoming, and I remember thinking this is a sorority girls dream store. It's kind of my impression of the woman that is Callie Cline. She likes to have fun, and party, and she fits in wherever she goes. She makes everyone feel welcome, and she is generous and fun. Today, bloggers from all over the grid are saying thank-you to Callie, thanks for organizing a week of celebrating what we do, thanks for being your fabulous self, and thanks for making everyone around you smile. This outfit is just one of my caLLie favorites, the incredibly fun wiLd cat dress in purpLe, and one of Callie's system layer fat beLts in bLood red. I want to thank Callie, simply for being the wonderful woman she is.



The fun accessories I chose to pair with this look are my always handy Decollage, Bubblegum Pearls, tinted to match the belt. I also pulled on a couple of great and girly bracelets from ::MEZZO::. The sweet Cosmetics Chain Bracelet has some adorably detailed cosmetic bottles dangling from a chain, the set comes with gold, silver, or black metal versions. The Dots Bangle 2Set from ::MEZZO:: is another cute detailed bracelet, it comes in two different coloured versions. The boots are a perfect match, Melanie Zhao's "XINFUL" Boots in Ox Blood Leather from ZHAO Shoes.



The hair is my new favorite from TRUTH Hair, the Linda wig is as close to the shape and texture of my actual hair style as I have found in-world. A combination of sculpted prims and alpha textured whisps, simply amazing. I want to mention my choice of eyes particularly, the Miriel Hazel Eyes. I was saddened to see Miriel's announcement that she plans to close her shop and give up her island in the near future. I urge you to go see her beautiful island and shop for some of her absolutely exceptional creations before they disappear, as too many of our iconic designers seem to be doing lately. Sharing POISON CANDY With Friends!

I am a girl that loves anything Rockabilly, Psychobilly, or Retro, particularly when it comes to fashion. I previously blogged about the introduction of the Poison Candy line into SL in the capable hands of Alla Ruff as commissioned by the Cannery Rezzable SIM. Check out my last post here. I was blown away then, so imagine my delight when I logged today to find NEWNESS Hot from the Poison Candy Shop!



Gweneth Lange with Rezzable dropped 6 fabulous Dresses on me, so I grabbed my Best Friend Trixi Palen and we got all giddy playing dress-up! I have to say, the Poison Candy Wedding Dress was made for Trixi, the girl is Pink Personified! This is the first Psychobilly Bridal Gown I have seen in SL, and it is amazing, The Stockings, Lace Gloves, Ruffles, Bows, and Veil are included, and there is a sweet little Spider on the Veil. The Layers of Tulle in the Skirt have a spider web pattern, just divine! I think Trixi looks Amazing!



The Posion Candy Tattoo Dresses are sweet, and harken back to some of the first dresses released under Poison Candy in SL. Pink with Flexi Prim Skirt on Trixi on the Left and the Beige with Sculptie Skirt on Me on the Right Side. These are all recreations of real dresses that Poison Candy has introduced in their shop, and can be found on-line as well. Alla Ruff did an amazing job, with optional Flexi or Sculptie Skirts, really sweet. The Blue Vintage Skull Dress has a lovely little Cameo Brooch on the Bodice. It is a smooth, lovely summer party dress with a little Cheeky Skull on the Cameo.



My personal favorite of this new batch of Poison Candy, is this amazing Jasmine Tea Party Dress, which comes in red or white. It is the combination of a sculpted skirt and the flexi prim skirt that make it so full and romantic, and the lovely boa on the waist is such a lovely touch. This one I want IRL! Trixi similarly loved this Cocktail Hour Dress, very sweet and simple, yet it is faithful to a retro cool that you would see the rockabilly kittens wearing at the Hot Rod Shows in Vegas. Old Gravy Is Back!

This is going to be a quickie, because I am working away on my article for Vain Inc. Magazine which is due in Tomorrow... but I had to share my JOY! Old Gravy (OG) is BACK! After months of wondering if/when Satine Dot and Candi Honey would return to our little mega-verse, I got word from Candi just yesterday that she had seen my previous blog post asking for information about the whereabouts of the shop, and news of any return. She IMd me, and told me that Satine was swamped with RL work/school and wasn't likely to come back anytime soon. I was glad for the update, sad for the news, but made Candi the offer of a shop on Retrology for them, if they felt like making a return.

Today I got word from Candi that she had been in touch with Satine, and that they were interested in a spot on Retrology! As I am typing, Satine and Candi are setting up shop, and I could not be more thrilled! My go-to for all the best in Rockabilly, Psychobilly, and Punk is back and right on my doorstep! I am wearing the amazing Never Die hair from OG, it just seemed appropriate! This little skirt and top set is the Kat Von Dee, also from OG, I would have worn my OG Horror Pop Chucks too, but I thought they might look odd with this sexy number. All Wrapped Up In The Rockabilly!

The minute I saw this hot little number at Little Rebel, it made my Rockabilly Kitten heart soar. It is one fierce little dress, called the Kool Kitty Panel Dress, and there is so much to love about it. I love the bow detail, the animal print panel and the black satin sides, which really add a slimming effect, but check out the sexy shine on my backside. All I can say is that my man was very happy to see me in it, and his eyes were on my tush all night.

To top off my look, I had to go with some hair from Old Gravy, because they did Rockabilly best, and I am still waiting for news on whether they will be re-opening their store anytime soon. I would find the prims on Retrology to give them a home, they were too fabulous to be forgotten. I thought I had pretty much every make-up in the Charmed Line of skins from Celestial Studios in my skin tone, but somehow missed this amazing Infrared one, I picked it up recently and I love it. If only Starley Thereian would release more make-ups for me in her Charmed Skins, this is like #1 on my wish list! Although I have a few of Canimal Zephyr's Tats, I love wearing this Henna Set from Canimal with dresses, it is very sexy and doesn't distract from the colour of the dress or outfit you are wearing.

Of course, no look rockability look is complete without some heavy /artilleri/, and this 8 Ball Handbag and these fabulous colour tintable Rockin Earrings are perfection. As for shoes, there is something so brilliant about these Alexis shoes from Melanie Zhao's ZHAO Shoes. The cherries on the shoes are so cute and they are uber sexy, but worn with this dress look less like stripper shoes and more like vixen heels. I love these layered necklaces from OPIUM Everyday and love tinting them to go with my favorite outfits, they make your money go so much further! I little metal with a nose stud from Tickled Pink worked nicely here too, and a set of funky bracelets from WRONG! also add to the 'Bad Girl' look I have working. Now I am ready to get "All Wrapped Up in The Rockabilly" at PIN UPS!

Queeen Of New Years' Eve

New Year's Eve had me in the mood for a little Celebrating, and what better way than with the most Fabulous Gown from "Casa del Shai". This one is really a winner, with a lush full skirt and perfectly created seams and folds. It was the perfect choice for the "Black & White Formal Ball" at PIN UPS, and topped with a feather boa from "Callie Cline" and this sweet little crown from "Violet Voltaire" I was ready to Party All Night! My shoes, mostly hidden by my gown, are just too cute not to show you, and Melanie Zhao has some great little detailed pairs you should check out on your next trip to "ZHAO". Hair from "COIF", my first, looked absolutely perfect for this look and I will definitely be heading back for more styles!
