As a member of the French Court, Madame de Pompadour was the official mistress to Louis XV. More than just a consort, this woman was to become an important aide and advisor to the king, and was adept in navigating life at court, avoiding making an enemy of the queen. While opinions on her vary, she was known to be a great patron of the arts, and a champion of French National pride. Known as the "Little Queen" to her friends, she made Versailles her home, and what a home it was. I can only imagine the luxury, and only approximate it with some of the most fabulous decor and fashion items at this month's Genre event.
My little apartment is richly appointed with a fabulous canopied bed from Kalopsia, furniture from Languor, and a chandelier to rival the very best from [DDD]. I adore this sweet skin from Lumae, with it's darling heart shaped velveteen mole, the nail polish is also available at Genre, made by the adorable Frogstar. I feel like a true member of the French court in all these stunning embellishments, with a lovely brocade corset by Adoness:, necklace by :(Sad Harlekin): along with this huge scripted brooch from Eclectica. I mustn't forget to mention this little bit of lace decadence in a hair ornament by Spyralle. All together, a little naughty bit of fun in the boudoir. I think this post has been one of the most fun to shoot in ages, maybe ever, I just let the fantastic poses by {NanTra} do their job, and played with the Windlight Pre-Sets, and BAM - Instant Rave! Back at Rhapsody, the final preparations are coming online for the opening, and I can't wait to show you even more of the great stuff I found. This post is all about the Electronica, that pounding heart stopping beat that keeps you up all night long.
A lot of firsts for me in this posts, content creators I adore but have rarely had a chance to blog. Starting with this absolutely luscious hair from .Olive., the Izzy II comes with a HUD packed with chalked and dyed washes and fades, and it is hard to pick a favorite. JD has created one of the most awesome pieces of footwear, a 3 part shoe to thigh high boot look that is a smashing hot pump, a knee high dazzler, and the thigh high look I went with. It comes in heaps of awesome colors too, I had to go with Fever Glitter Black for starters, but I may go back for more to go with my JD MyFeet. A brilliantly cute and sassy Sleeveless Tunic from ANE is the perfect thing to keep me looking and feeling cool while I dance into the morning, and some great Bracelets from ::Tabou Irresistible:: are the perfect accessory. Now my Robot posse and I are going to get a little Technologic up in here!

Sometimes, taking separates parts and putting them together in a new way to make a whole can be a revelation. That's a lot of what medical research is about, like the research funded by FFL for the American Cancer Society. Taking knowledge of how different cells interact, looking at the abilities of viruses or hormones to affect cells or organs, and stealing the best ideas of mother nature, re-engineering them to work for us rather than against us. Cancer research in particular is all about taking bits of fascinating information and medical knowledge and using what is known to effect an unknown and possibly life saving reaction in the body. It's pretty miraculous when you think of it all.
