Genre - Baroque Down Palace

This may be your one and only chance to see most (if not all) of my skin. I am notoriously modest with my avatar, at least in public, but this stunning Sarah pearl harness from [deviousMind] got me to strip down and roll around on my equally fabulous Kalopsia - Le Lit de la Marquise Bed. Genre - Madame de Pompadour

As a member of the French Court, Madame de Pompadour was the official mistress to Louis XV. More than just a consort, this woman was to become an important aide and advisor to the king, and was adept in navigating life at court, avoiding making an enemy of the queen. While opinions on her vary, she was known to be a great patron of the arts, and a champion of French National pride. Known as the "Little Queen" to her friends, she made Versailles her home, and what a home it was. I can only imagine the luxury, and only approximate it with some of the most fabulous decor and fashion items at this month's Genre event.

My little apartment is richly appointed with a fabulous canopied bed from Kalopsia, furniture from Languor, and a chandelier to rival the very best from [DDD]. I adore this sweet skin from Lumae, with it's darling heart shaped velveteen mole, the nail polish is also available at Genre, made by the adorable Frogstar. I feel like a true member of the French court in all these stunning embellishments, with a lovely brocade corset by Adoness:, necklace by :(Sad Harlekin): along with this huge scripted brooch from Eclectica. I mustn't forget to mention this little bit of lace decadence in a hair ornament by Spyralle. All together, a little naughty bit of fun in the boudoir. FFL - Wander Your Own Path

With only ONE DAY LEFT to get yourself to Fashion For Life and shop for heaps of Exclusive Items while donating to Relay For Life of Second Life at the same time, this will be my last post for the 2014 event.  Despite my focus on the amazing fashions and accessories available at this year's event, the cause has never been far from my heart.  Second Life is a 'Game' to many people, or at the very least, a pleasant distraction and escape from the every day grind. But it can be so much more than that when we come together as a community and spend our Linden Dollars for a purpose. The purpose in this case is to provide much needed funding to the American Cancer Society, which has many projects underway, including the funding of Cancer Research. 

Whether you choose to give in-world, at event like Fashion For Life, or donate directly to a charity of your choice, know that you are what makes the difference between a successful event and one that falls short. Please make sure you visit the event before it closes on June the 21st, and spend a little good will, buy something great or just donate directly at a kiosk.
