Funky, Punky, and Punch Drunk!

Yay! Another Green Event another reason to wear my Favorite Colour! Green in SL can be subdued, vibrant, cool, or electric... But this outfit from "Punch Drunk" is all about Funk! I love the shimmer of the dress, and the lighter tights are very sweet paired with it. I was jazzed about wearing some of my favorite jewelry, this Necklace and Bracelet both from "Yummy". I so loved this hair/hat combo I picked up at "ETD" recently, and the scripted colour change hat is so versatile. I borrowed these great =DeLa*= shoes from my sister Anessa Stine... Shoe Blogging Queen of On Your Toes. I love this look and know I will be putting this snappy look on again and again!

Better Late Than Never!

Well... Finally Getting Caught Up On My Blog, I didn't want to leave this one out. I know... Superbowl was almost a week ago! We had a lot of Events at PIN UPS that weekend, I DJd a Superbowl Party on Saturday Night (Feb.02/08), and then on Superbowl Sunday, we had a "Good Sports" Event. I wanted to show you the costumes I wore to those events, they were a riot and I had a lot of fun putting this together. During the FashCon Free Rez Day Freebie Mania, I stopped in to "LaynieWear" and grabbed these two adorable Cheerleader costumes. The Referee, I had from Halloween and was looking for a good reason to wear it, when looking for over the top Sexy Costumes, "LVS" or Liquid Velvet Studios is a great place to start! So Here is my personal tribute to Superbowl Mania, something that is definitely not as much of a Passion up in Canada, where I hail from, but seems to grip my American friends in SL like crazy! I went very Pin Up for this shoot, and I love the way these 3 looks are so different, yet all ME ME ME! Go Team!

Grunge Couture!

Ever since "Thimbles" joined the Retrology Shops, I have been Jonesing over pretty much everything in the store. Melatonin Hax and Apathia Hammerer, Thimbles Designers, have quite a great thing going on, their stuff is an awesome mix of Silly, Fun, Kitschy, and Cool. But best of all... it is Uber affordable! You can indulge yourself for very few Lindens, and they have great stuff showing up week after week. Even the look of their shop is fun! This plaid shirt... with the hilarious name 'Das Pladinator' is so awesome, I love wearing it! When I put this look together, my husband Draco said, "You Look Sexy Baby!", I said "I Look Like I am Going to Clean Toilets!". And that is Exactly the look I was going for, Sexy Cleaning Ladies - EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Awesome "The Abyss" grungy jeans, some chunky boots from "Shiny Things" and a few Tats... No one says the Fashion can't be a hell of a lot of fun! This Shaggy Hair from "ETD" is Sexy, with just a hint of Sultry Eyes Peeking out from under the Bangs. OK, I need to dash... there are Toilets somewhere in Second Life that need a good scrubbing!

Pop Feel-ing Groovy

On my last visit to the Adorable "Pop Feel", I picked up this Hound’s-tooth Sweater Dress set the moment I saw it. It looked cozy and I love the black and white, with the hot red of the leggings. "Pop Feel" makes some amazingly soft looking fabric textures, they look reach out and touch real. I love that these tights have a ribbed texture to them, and I know that I can find other ways to wear them. I paired up the dress with a belt and earring set I grabbed from "Caroline's Jewelry", always on the look-out for Retro looking pieces for my weekly Era events at the club, this set was all about the 60s' for me. These boots, from "Last Call" are still a favorite, and I wear them all the time. A nice weekday look for shopping the grid or hanging with friends.

Feeling a Little Rebellious

I have a secret shop, where I like to go at least once a month, where I always walk out with armloads of great stuff, and I feel like it is this forgotten Gem of a place. It is called "Little Rebel" and I love it. When I first met Antonia Marat of "/artilleri/", over a year ago, she was the first vendor to set up shop in the very first PIN UPS Night Club. My sister Anessa and I asked her what some of her favorite shops were, hoping to add them to the list of vendors in our club, she rambled off a list, and I took notes, literally. I was just at the start of my journey into SL Fashion, and needed some good places to get a foothold. Little Rebel was one of the shops that Antie named, and so I made a point of finding it. I have to say, it really is one of the most amazing places to buy separates and dresses, and on a recent trip, my RL twin sister Anessa Stine IMd me, asked where I was.. and when I told her, she said "What is That?". My response was... "OMG! You have Never been to Little Rebel?". They have something for everyone, Mens' and Womens', and styles run from Street, Rockabilly, Club, on through to Classic. The style is more Photo-Real than Handpaint, uses the system elements as opposed to prims, but very well done and really have some great pieces you can mix into your existing wardrobe.

This is my latest purchase from "Little Rebel", although I don't think it is very NEW it is fabulous. The sweater comes in a dozen colours, the skirt (separately) comes in another dozen, and I put Purple and Red together to make a bold colour statement. I was thrilled to finally have a reason to wear these 'Ruffle' Boots from "Shiny Things", they are simply stunning, and are too gorgeous to sit around in my closet un-seen. I tinted up some fabulous "Argyle" bangles, and wore the classic "ETD" No Bangs Bun with the Right Swept bangs. Classic with a bit of 'Sauce'.

The Golden Rule...

One thing I must say about my Blog, now that I am aware I have been picked up in the "Fashion Planet - World of SL" Syndicate, is that everything I wear, I purchase or have gotten as a group gift or freebie. Other then that, I do have a few items I have modeled for some friends, like Pin Upshaw's "PIN UP Dolls Boutique" and Eloria LeShelle's "Battered Boudoir". I do not solicit "freebies" and I must say that the whole point of this Blog is to document my personal "Addiction" for SL Fashion. My taste is Eclectic, I like to 'Mix & Match' and 'Switch Things Up'. And yes... I spend A LOT of Lindens, all earned by DJing In-World or purchased from LL.
I feel somewhat awkward accepting gifts of clothing from designers, so I wanted to say officially, that while I am willing to accept these items, I do not feel obligated to wear or Blog these items, the whole point of my Blog is that I wear what I like, how I like, and I don't want to feel like I am mis-representing my personal style by wearing something I would never have purchased on my own. I also am not a critic, I do not make a habit of picking apart items and suggesting that one designer's work is better than anothers, I think all SL Fashion is Art. Art in SL, is like art in RL, you may like it, you may not like it, but you don't have to put up a Picasso in your home just because it is a Picasso if it is not your personal taste.
Having said that, I am friends with Neferia Abel of "~Ivalde~", and after she heard that I recently was going through a personal emotional and physical health crisis, Nef reached out to me with words of kindness, and being an increadibly generous person, sent me several of her new items. One of those items was this divine 'Susie' Dress. It was one of my first days back in SL after taking nearly a week off, and my husband Draco was DJing a "Precious Metals" event, so metallic coloured clothing was in order. I simply typed "Gold" into my inventory search, and up came this gown, so I threw it on. Can I just say WOW! Nef, and most of you who have seen my previous Blog Entry "What's In My Closet - The Look Of ~Ivalde~" know I purchase pretty much everthing she releases, I am a true fan! I know that had I been out in SL the previous week, and shopping, I would have purchased this dress for myself. It is slinky, sexy and the ruching is devine! Out came my favorite "Armidi" Vidalia Pumps, some Bubblegum Pearls from "Decollage" and some more of my "ETD" Hair (bought at the recent sale), and I was feeling like my old self again. Sometimes clothes, like friendship, can transform us - Body, Spirit, & Soul.

Cuddled and Corsetted!

When I saw this outfit on the wall at "MG Fashion" I had one of those "OMG I MUST OWN IT!" Moments... I get those a lot. One of the colours I seem to purchase the least in SL is blue, but this blue was so hazy and subdued, and matched so cleverly with the clay brown of this amazing cowl neck sweater, I went for it! I wasn't sure exactly what shoes I would pair up with this look, so had my eyes open... when 'Zing!' I saw the fabulous Clara Slingback at "Shiny Things" on a recent visit to Lalique Square. I think the fabric on the shoes matched the set so perfectly, I could not say no. More NEWNESS in this great shaggy hair from "Armidi" and I knew I was set. Oh, before I forget, look close at these amazing earrings I picked up on a recent trip to "Shiny Things", they are so very pretty!

How I love "Old Gravy" Hair, Oh I Love It So! And this Style, one of Satine Dot's Newer releases is just Brilliant! Could you die! It is named "Cash" and makes me feel like a Roughed up June Carter Cash... So of course I wore in on "Rockabilly" Night at the Club! I love the scripted colour change flower too! Had this little blue dress just waiting for a "Best in Blue" Event... and viola! Very cute indeed, and I love the Chiffon Layers, "Armidi" does some really adorable dresses in so many colours, you can always find a fave. When I saw this sweater at "Kurotsubaki" my Jaw Dropped! WOW, A flowing loose wrap sweater that look so real I would do anything to have it in RL! The Party Hangover Cure

My Anniversary Party Dress for PIN UPS 1 Year Anniversary in SL! Making Progress...

A Touch Of Grey...

Sorry I have been away so long, but personal issues kept me from Blogging and I am trying to play catch up now. Way back in January, the 15th to be exact, this was a look that matched my subdued mood at the time, I wanted to cover up a bit.. and blend in. This Loose Knotted Hair from "Armidi" was just what I needed, and The layering of Camisole and Sweater made me feel more insulated (This Sweater and Scarf Set from "Mischief" just looked so cozy). The slacks, dropped on me by my dear friend Neferia Abel of "~Ivalde~" completed the look. Sometimes fashion is less about showing off, and more about trying not to be seen.

WEEK 2: Flickr SL - Look Of The Day Winner!

This weeks winner is December Dollinger's "Look Of The Day" from January 4h,2008. Well presented it is an adorable ensemble that addresses one of the most important things that fashion can do for us, lift the spirits. December choose bright colours and sweet prints to "Pep" Thing Up. I love her choice of accessories too, a sweet purse and some fab shoes... who wouldn't feel great in this look! As always, it met all my criteria for a "Look Of The Day" winner, all the details are clearly spelled out in the description/comments so anyone can recreate this look or steal the bits they personally love. Sombre Colours For A Blue Girl

There is no hiding the fact that I have been very blue lately, slipping into s depression deeper than I have known before. I have been letting things slide, feel unable to force a smile, and feel little joy... and I wanted to wear the feeling I felt inside. This stunning set from "TULI" is incredible in it's fine details and brilliant use of Prim Pieces, and I felt warm and protected in it, covered from head to toe, something I rarely do... I needed to hide. Sometimes fashion says more about what is in out hearts than what is in our heads. Stylish, yes, but somehow just something to be invisible in.

Old Hollywood Glamour

I have waited to wear this fabulous slinky Vintage Inspired gown forever, and decided it's time had come. I wanted a Vintage look, something 'Old Hollywood', something Screen Siren, something a bit 'Femme Fatale'. This looks is all that and so much more. The gown, by "Sideshow Vintage' is a delicious Burnt Fuchsia/Rust colour and simply sizzles. Paired with the perfect Retro Coif, this one from "Hose Queen", Hair Combs included. A Shoulder Broach with a name like 'Chatelaine' from "MUSE" is the perfect accessory, as is the bit of kitsch provided by the cigarette holder. Old Hollywood, over-the-top, what Second Life Fashion dreams are made of.
