Gaucho Marks

On my last trip to Celestial Studios, I stocked up on all my Charmed Skins, making sure I had all of them, since they are my trademark look, and the one that makes me feel most like myself. This purple Violicious skin inspired this look, I love the punky burst of colour, and decided to go with matching hair from the phenomenal Eat Rice!. This Stellar style is scripted so the front portion can be made one of several great manic panic colours. Lashes are also from Celestial Studios, and Realistic Brights Brown Eyes are from **[Riddle]**.



I wanted to work with some of the clothing I have had for a while, but this great Sprawl Bricolage top in Grey is a great sheer blouse with all the layer options you could ever want. Pushbutton Skolnick's new line is really fantastic, and I am glad I nabbed a bunch before my funds totally bottomed out. Make sure you check the Sprawl shop out. I have had these great Gaucho Pants from BP* for a long time, but never really knew how to wear them. I think they work well with this layered look. I threw on some knit socks from [MG Fashion], and went with a monochrome leg look with Black Dune Boots from Maitreya. Since I am on the modest side, I wore a classic bra from House of Nyla under the Blouse, it gives the look a little more class and depth.



I added a few punky accessories with Canimal's Picture Pendant, scripted to click through about 10 different cute designs. I pulled in a big bangle from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, the Jelly Gem Donut Bangle is scripted to change base and gem colours, and can be matched to almost any look. A Pouch Belt from ::MEZZO:: gives added interest at the waist, with cute little skull charms it is really a nice touch of kitsch. A big ~flirt~ Amythyst in Platinum Tiffany Ring pulls in another dash of purple to round out the look. Having fun with a dash of colour makes me oh so very happy.

Cheeky Monkey!

I felt like having a little fun with today's look. Going with cute and punky, and utilizing as many hidden gems in my closet as I could. I am a huge fan of the film of Kevin Smith, I think Clerks is probably the best student film ever made. I know it line for line, word for word, I have watched it so many times. I came across this great :.:71:.: top back in Spring of 2007, that's the date it came into my inventory. It's called Mallrats, and features a picture of Jay and Silent Bob with their signature phrase "Snoochie Bootches". Last night Draco asked me what that meant, I honestly have no idea, but it is darn funny anyways. Unfortunately there was no in-world location to be found, one of the hazards of having been in-world for almost two years. I paired it with a favorite mini skirt from (Pixeldolls) simply called the Everything Skirt, and it really is, it can be use in a dressy look or a punky look with ease, and the prim skirt can be slid up or down depending on the length of the top you pair it with. This Lime Sheer Daisy Lingerie Set from POPPY was probably one of the first I ever bought at the original Lalique Square. I wanted to pull out the colour from the bow on the back of the top and use it as an accent. I always love wearing stocking with a funky mini-skirt or dress, and the bright Lime colour really pops here. Skull Arm Warmers from Canimal get me into a funky mood, and really add some colourful fun, these are great because they are tint-able and you can make then match anything you like.



These are some of my favorite boots ever, from **C-Shoes**, they are one heck of a sexy Fetish Heel boot, real ass-kickers with a sexy twist. They are all prim, and I have to say as someone with a crap graphics card, I miss the days when shoes appeared instantly when you put them on, instead of taking 10 minutes to fully rez into shape. I wanted to go big on the fun with all my accessories, so I started with this absolutely adorable Cuppycake Necklace from {Violet Voltaire}. Violet does some of the best Gothic and kitschy accessories I have seen, and the colour combination here, the fluorescent links and pastel beads really make the Cuppycake Birthday Set so great. What goes better with cake then candy, and ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Time For Candy Necklace is a cute and easy choice, and works well with the layering of necklaces here. Some great [Woo's] Bangles do the trick on the wrists, they are really fabulous, and so inexpensive. Well verifying the SLURL to the shop today, I noticed several great freebies by the door, and almost everything in the shop is less then $100 LaLas. Skull Rhinestone Earrings are favorites from (CREAMSHOP).



Can we talk Hug Monkey? This little fella had been sitting in my inventory for quite a while, a Freebie at Asian Monks Store. Sometimes the sort of Harajuku Punk Princess looks are the perfect ones to add some tag-along friends. Grab him up yourself while he is still Free. More great hair from BP*, the simple and sweet Yuka Chignon was another great Hair Fair find. Skin is from Celestial Studios, with Love Lashes by [Detour] and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are favorites from Freak Fantasia. So in this look, I get to dance about and be as cheeky as I want to be, or else I will sic my Monkey on you!

Little Bunny FooFoo

He calls me his bunny, I know, mushy stuff, but after 18 months with my partner Draco, I am happy to be his bunny or any other pet name he calls me. This week he was away visiting family, and I missed being really connected to him, when I searched for something to wear while waiting for him to log on for a goodnight cuddle, I knew it had to be this adorable BP* Blue Cut-Off Hoodie with bunny ears. It comes with several hood versions, but this one with the brown hair and the bunny ears was my favorite, I did mod linked parts a bit to slightly darken the hair colour, making it a little more personalized. What is so great about this Hoodie, is the little touches that BettiePage Voyager has a talent for those little details that make all the difference. The frayed edges on the hood and top, small flexi alphas that look like tiny threads moving in the wind are really well done, as are all the prim parts. BP* has some amazing pieces, but the prices are even better.

I paired the top with these bright Red Capri Pants from *DP*yumyum, a sweet little pant with adorable dotted back pockets. I like the shading on them and the prim cuffs fit perfectly with no fiddling, the tiny bow detail really makes them unique. This pair came with a CSR Stamp Card if I recall correctly, and there are many great colours to choose from. I pulled in a favorite pair of casual and cute shoes from EnvYou, the Strapped Chucks I wear so often, and I have them in all the colours available, they are just a cute and casual heeled sneaker, and chucks are so the thing to be wearing these days. The bag is also from BP*, the Leather Skull Bunny Bag is a really nice one to have for a look like this, the colour is lovely and the kitsch factor is right up my alley. I pulled on one of the Arm Bands from Devilish Cupcakes, here the Red Rainbow version, which came in a fatpack of dozens of colour and logo options. One of Marjorie Market's bits of whimsy is this cute Cherry Ring Pop under her Bees Knees Line, can't ever have enough chunky rings.



Skin is the Quelita Soon Milk Skin in Dark 003, I really love the brightness of the face, it has a really youthful look to it. Bedroom Lashes by Cake, and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes from Freak Fantasia. Mostly hidden but worth a mention are my Drifting Sands Tunnel Multi Set Ear Piercings, absolute favorites for a mixed up look with only one attachment point.

Butterfly Fantasies

When Myllie Writer released her Odelia Dress this week, I put it down on my shopping list as one to get. I was thrilled when Myllie sent me all three versions of the *PERSONA* Odelia Dress this week, and as soon as I got it, I threw on this adorable Purples Butterflies Dress. I love a sweet summer dress, and this one is really special because of the delicate lace hem adorned with colourful butterflies. They seemed to flutter around me as I walked about the Footwear Expo this week, and I particularly love this purple version, but the orange and green are just as lovely. The crisscrossed straps on the back of the dress are another sweet detail.

I went light on the accessories, as I was mostly browsing the Expo, so I skipped heavy duty and went for simple and very wearable. Fresh Baked Goods are high up on the wearable list, here I chose to wear one each of the Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangles and the Gem Jelly Donut Bangles in Silver, they are simple to customize by click, and they really can be worn with almost anything. The giant Fantasy Amethist [sic] Ring was a gift from my sister Anessa, from the Bandit Jewelry Shop, and it has a great resizer script as well as (thank goodness) a bling on/off option. I pulled in a simple -EARTHTONES- Triple Layer Necklace, with scripted crystals you can customize to match your look, always a bonus. The shoes are the famous ChiChi Pumps in Black from Maitreya, a purchase I will never regret.



I had been waiting for a sweet dress look to wear this adorable Girl Friend Style from BP*, and though it required some heavy tweaking to get the fit right on my huge melon, it was well worth it. The skin is a soft smoky Purple Sunset from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, really a lovely make-up. I went with a fluttery purple lash from Canimal, the Essence Lash in Purple Flamenco Trash is just another lovely dash of purple. The large almost Anime' Hazel Eyes are from Philotic Energy.

Tea Party Pretty

Back when I discovered a little shop called JE*Republic, it was in a little mall, and there was a tiny shop where I picked up this sweet little dress. The shop was called ::Covergirl::, and this dress caught my eye, I really like the texture of it, and the way the orange leaves and vines contrast with the rosy pink of the dress. I decided to pick up the great Orange with these fabulous =DeLa= Thaelle Pumps with the ankle wraps. I love this style and the ankle wrapped ribbon is really sweet, very feminine.

I really love wearing the sweet wigs from BP*, this one called the Micky Dango Hair has sweet 'bunnies' as my niece calls them, and is a little like Micky Mouse Ears. The skin is very china-doll like, binacaF.'s fata skin in LONDON2. I love her Ivory skin tone, it is so powder smooth, yet luminous, and the lips are so pretty. Eyes are from BBBM, and I love this pair especially, the Watery Eyes are big and deep, with a light reflecting quality to them, they are really worth a look. I am wearing lashes I consider to be one of the best all around sets you can get, the Bedroom Lashes from Cake are pretty much a perfect starter pair for anyone who is thinking of going the Prim Lash route.



I love this pair of earring from Swallowtail, although I pretty much love everything they have released, this Organic line is so delicate and feminine and makes really good use of sculptie and non-sculptie prims. I am wearing the Swallowtail Organic Bracelet here as well. The bag was a group gift from La Petite Fleur a few weeks back, and is very sweet and feminine, so I decided to add it to the look. Gimcrack Ring is from Caroline's Jewelry. I feel like I am all set to go to the Teddy Bears Picnic Tea Party in this look.

Soft, Pink, Hope...

Each year I look forward to the Relay For Life Campaign in-world, so that I can shop with purpose, and wear these special items with pride. When I stopped in to ETD this week, I was thrilled to see that once again, Elikapeka Tiramisu was taking part, and offering special Hair packs, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. This adorable style, called Strength III from ETD comes with a head-scarf in the RFL signature colour pink, and in a number of shades packs. I just love how bright and fresh this pink is, it fills me with hope and joy.

To dress myself from the top down, so to speak, I choose this soft and lovely sweater from BP*, called the Unisex Border Sweater, it has prim collar, cuffs, and waist hem pieces, and looks so darn real. I pulled on these fabulous jeans from SD Wears that I snagged at The Starlust Motel. Called the Valley Girl Jeans, they ooze casual relaxed comfort and I love the use of system elements for belts. I chose these amazing Patent Urban flats from !Boing Fromage!, which are colour scripted to change 5 different parts of the shoe for endless combinations. If you like a casual shoe, you have to put these on you MUST HAVE List. I pulled in my favorite relaxed purse, this adorable Denim Hobo from Celestial Studios, which is so brilliantly textures, and uses sculpties to perfection. With all the prims in the sweater, all I needed was a sweet ring, this one called the Princess Ring from Paper Couture.

I have switched back to my old favorite eyes for now on urging of my man who missed them, from Freak Fantasia, called the Glassy Mustard Green, the are so big and glossy, very sweet. Lashes are from [Detour], and although I have about 4 sets of lashes from them, but always wear these Love Lashes. This sweet and lovely skin is from biancaF., called the LONDON2 in the Ivory tone, Fata line. The more I wear Bianca's skins, the less I can imagine ever wearing another. So here I am, soft, pink, and full of hope!

Week 11: Flickr SL™: Look Of The Day Winner

Week 11 Winner in the Flickr Second Life® - Look Of The Day is IsabellaGrace Baroque's brilliant submission entitled Living Dead Girl. The image is highly stylized, very dark and disturbed, yet strangely captivating and romantic. IsabellaGrace has once again gone beyond a mere fashion shot, and created an image that is very artistic, with the lighting, pose, and setting carefully choosen to compliment her 'Broken Down Doll' look. I really love this picture, and I think that the wardrobe elements are brought together quite ingeniously.

IsabellaGrace has managed to make this Big Bomb Hair from BP*, look completely different then I have seen it before, and we have all seen it a lot! The Dress, from GHOST, is also perfect for this look, it is a more stylized Baby Doll, and is remarkably adaptable to this Gothic look as most of the offerings from the shop are. IsabellaGrace's skin, from the amazing MiaSophia is mesmerizing, and makes me want to go check out MiaSophia's shop to see what other unique and creative skins she has to offer. I particularly love these striped Ring Master Tights from Kyoot Army, they add to the look of the Marionette Doll so perfectly. Of course the use of the Marionette Broken Strings from Mina Junk is simply essential.

Big Bomb Diva

I have a ridiculous sense of humor sometimes, I like things that border on the absurd. So here I am, wearing maybe the biggest Wig in all of SL, the coveted 'Big Bomb' Hair from BettitPage Voyager's "BP*", and I decided it yet needed something more... yep, a fancy hat! I just thought that this hair, which has been worn (and blogged) by everyone and their SL uncle, needed a little personalization. "Elegance Hats" has had a home on Retrology since the SIM opened, and this amazing hat is one of Morrigan's Newest Creations, the 'Betty Golden Pheasant'. I wanted it the minute I saw it, and just love the green of the feathers, it matched the rest of this look so well. I have dozens of hats, I usually forget to wear them... but this one simply cannot be forgotten!

The dress, the new 'Lady Minx' in Green from "Mimikri" is a brilliant ruched heaven. Yes, my addiction for the colour green knows no bounds! And even though this dress comes is half a dozen delicious colours, I simply had to go for the green! I love the matching gloves, and though this look was very couture and quite a switch-up for me. I seriously tried every pair of tights in my inventory on, hoping I could get this look a little more funk-a-fied, but in the end decided that the best match was a simple pair of Tan hose, these from "Blaze". The shoes are some of my favorites, and every time I wear them I am determined to head back over to "Lassitude & Ennui" and grab more of their brand of fabulous. I threw on the wardrobe staple 'Cameo & Sautoir' necklace from "Boing Fromage", if you don't own it already... what are you waiting for, it is just too fun and can be worn with so many different looks! This Look is Big, It's 'Da Bomb', and I am such a Diva!

Have Belts Will Travel!

Sometimes, I am just in the mood for muted colours and practical comfy clothes, and since I was all about getting my house re-furnished (same furniture in my loft for over 1 year in SL, a Crime!) I had to be dressed to do some serious Furniture testing. I found "Emery" weeks ago, and bought out a good number of the items in store at that time, this jacket among them, but I hadn't really worn any of it yet, so when I was looking for a jacket, I was thrilled to be able to throw this one on, called the 'Dakota Checked Jacket', it is cute and relaxed, and probably the most muted colour element in the shop... so unlike me, yet I just loved it! "Dutch Touch" is another place with funky and comfy muted urban looks, and these 'Painter Pants' seemed a perfect match.

I have always loved these boots from "Shiny Things", I love that they look worn in and the colour is vibrant but still neutral. A couple of belts helped me pull this look together, one of my favorite being this "Canimal" 'Punk Rock' Belt, and another, this great bag on a belt by "Cake" with these awesome Flexi suede fringes. Some cute hair from "BP*", this time tinted just a bit darker then the brown it came in to be more... me! I was good to go, now if only I wasn't so laggy I am sure we would have actually gotten furniture, the loft is still bare... but I did get some awesome clothes during the trip, so not a total loss!

Wee Bunny Bunting...

There are some clothes in SL, love them as I do, I simply cannot wear. It has to do with my, ahem, ample bust. I don't have a large chest in SL because I think it is a way to get attention, or because I think it is sexy, I have it because, well... in RL I am actually even bigger than I am in SL. So while trying to fit outfits with Prim pieces on top, I often have to give up on some looks entirely. The only shape mod I am willing to do, and believe me it took me a while to do it, is the "Skirt Shape" so that I do not look ridiculous in a System Skirt or have my derrière sticking out of a Prim skirt or dress.

When I saw this adorable Poncho at "LYCEE", I wanted it, I knew it might be a big 'don't' for us Busty gals, so I was aware that I might not ever be able to wear it. Last Friday, as I was set to start my shopping rounds, I figured it was time to give it a go. At first try, I did have the same problem, my bust protruding through the top prims, but I just stretched the top a bit and hey... it didn't look too bad! Yippee! So with a sigh of relief, I put together this adorable look and for once, I can say, yep... I am wearing a prim top! For a while, I had opted for white hair in SL, since my RL hair is determined to be white. But when it comes to the adorable hair from "BP*", I am willing to go back to Black in a BIG WAY! it is simply adorable, and though it requires a little fiddling to get it to fit right, I am never disappointed in it. Pushbutton Skolnick has been releasing some fabulous *NEWNESS* lately at her main "Pushbutton Industries" Store in LeZoo, and I am madly in love with these must-have 'Drifter' Jeans, the colour choices are great, and as always, you get the choice of a number of different looks in one pack, in this case there are a variety of different belt looks (not worn). I love when jeans come in undies layer, so that I can throw some great boots in the mix, and these brilliant Moccasin boots from "::69::" were to delicious to pass up in this 'Chocolate' brown colour. An adorable bag from "BP*" means I am ready to shop!

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana!

Oh how I love my Orange! I love that we have Theme Colour Events at PIN UPS Night Club so that I remember to buy things in every shade of the Rainbow. But Orange is an easy one; I am drawn to it like a Big Old Magnet! So this past Monday, when my "Rockabilly Ball" Event went Orange... I went all out! I love this look, and loved putting it together. It is the kind of look I could never get away with in RL, but is just too fun to resist in SL!

The 'Flouncy Florence' Jacket from "Thimbles" is too sweet... I was crushing on it from the moment I spotted it! Vibrant and Fun is one of the things the gals at "Thimbles" do best. It paired nicely with these slightly orange infused Jeans from "Digit Darkes" that I was lucky enough to pick up during a spur of the moment insanity sale last week. I think the were $1L at that time... but they are really nice and the more I look at them the more I could see myself paying full price for them (and if I didn't already own over 100 pair of Jeans I might have done it). Again, favorite shoes from Armidi make an appearance, as well as this "Celestial Studios" Hobo bag in Patent Orange, which I also own in Denim (as well as Red Patent thanks to Starley's Generosity to her Group over Valentine's Week). I love this hair from BettyPage Voyager's "BP*", and although I find I have to spend a bunch of time adjusting it to make it work on my melon, it is so worth it. The earrings are a Freebie welcome gift from "Bebe", love nice clean basics like this. Check out the sculptie Bracelet from "Bonita's", which I visited for the first time last week after getting a FashCon notice about this release. Really nicely textured and a great use of sculpties I think... can't wait to see more like this in the future. Again, "/artilleri/" has given me joy in the form of Eye Wear, I love these Huge Sunglasses from Antie, and of course nabbed the Fat Pack of 'Reptile Sunglasses' when I was there last. Knock Knock! Who's There...

Pretty Fly for a White Haired Girl

Since discovering FashCon a few months back, my shopping expenses have at least doubled. So many great designers, and all I have to do is sit back and in come the Notices. I can literally shop while I DJ... well, window shop at least. I had never even heard of "Magika" till I got a recent notice showing off some of their Hair Newness, and so there I was. I loved so many of their punky styles, I think i picked up about five while there, but this one was so fabulous I had to Grab it without even getting the Demo (I rarely try on Hair Demos, I just am too impulsive, and I have over 300 hair looks, maybe more like 350... ack)! This style, called "Fly" comes with the Retro flight helmet and goggles and it just made me feel adorable and kitschy and silly, so I threw on my "D2TK" Aviators, made them some crazy colours to match the awesome "Canimal" belt! Sometimes it is just too much fun switching up my look. I grabbed these jeans at "Kenzie & Co." on my last trip to Cotton Candy and just love them, instant faves to add to my other dozens of Jeans (See previous post "What's In My Closet - Them Jeans"). OK... gotta FLY!
