Man, I Feel Like A Woman!

I admit it, I have always found women rocking the menswear look undeniably sexy. It is one privilege of being a woman, we can wear their clothes and look chic, they try to wear ours and look, well, mostly silly. So whenever I see menswear inspired looks in-world, I pretty much plunk down my lindens without a second thought. I have mentioned before my favorite "Best Kept Secret" place to shop is Little Rebel Designs. I am not sure why it gets so little attention, but it should get a heck of a lot more. This sexy Tie Back Vest Set is a perfect example of what treasures can be found, I love the photo-real vibe with these clothes, and the open button and slightly exposed belly under the white shirt are really sexy. Look at the laces down the back of the vest, they are so well done, and I love that they hand just a touch lower then the bottom of the shirt, a real nice added touch of realism. This vest set comes in a folder with a vest only version as well, so you can pair it with any other favorite top you own. Little Rebel has both men's and women's clothing, I particularly love the separates they offer, the variety of colour or pattern choices, and the prices are more then fair.

I pulled in a great pair of Button Bermuda Shorts in Black from [VG Republic], which come in a belted or un-belted version, and have a really polished looking cuff on the thigh. I think doing a menswear look works so much better with a hat, and this great Charley Hair from ETD not only is a great loose and sexy style, but the fedora is really well made. When I do menswear inspired looks like this, I really like to pull in at lease one entirely feminine element, and these Digit Darkes Black Gingham Check Mary Janes do the trick quite nicely.



I pulled in some cute accessories with this adorable +Japancakes+ Fashionista Necklace, how sweet is the little hanger? More great jewelry from *PERSONA*, the Silver Circle Earrings have a great hammered metal look to them. When [iTuTu] recently had their skybox show, I don't remember what it was called, they had piles of fabulous free items out. One of them was this great Prayer Bracelet from :sey. I really like contrast between the sharp leaves and the lovely delicately textured bands. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake, and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are by Freak Fantasia.

Very Precious Metals

Feeling Like I have been lacking a little shine lately, so I though it was time to get the lead out and get metallic. I picked up this great jacket and jeans combo from Digit Darkes at the Relay For Life Clothing Fair a few weeks back, and I decided to throw it on and see what I could work with it. It is called the Digit'all Tracks outfit, and includes the tube top, jacket, and cuffed capris, this is the Graphitee combination, but it comes in a bunch of hot colours. Very cute, and really leaves a lot of room for funky rockin' accessories.

I started with these great Armidi Gisaci Oxford Leather Ankle Boots in Silver II, and they really pick up nicely on the silver of the jacket. A bracelet from *UnTone* in black and silver, again a nice match and really quite a cool looking item, with the interesting textures on the sculptie hearts. Nice to see sculpties in Jewelry too, less prims and some really creative pieces on the market. I belted up with this fabulous Muism Double Zip Belt, which comes in a studded version as well. I think the flexi prim flaps are really nicely done, giving it a real movement most belts are sadly lacking. Always happy to wear a little Violet Voltaire, I threw on this great and very intricate (237 Prim) Angel Necklace, it comes with matching earrings too. A Cute little purse from Nerdy Birdy means I am ready to go back to work collecting Red Sticks in the ongoing hunt!

I am wearing one of my fabulous new biancaF. skins, this is the Bloom make-up on the Ivory-fata skin tone. I just love how luminescent this skin is, and an really not looking forward to the Windlight Viewer I have yet to install for fear it may change the way my pictures turn out. More hair from HCT, this funky Smitten style is really cute. I am wearing amazing BBBM eyes, and yep... Detour's fab Love Lashes once again. Red Sticks, here I come!

Punk Chic

If you could only have one flavour of Ice Cream for the rest of your life, no matter how much you loved that flavour, after a while... it would just be the same. Think of all the other flavours you would be missing out on! If you only explore one avenue of fashion, one narrow definition of style, then you are similarly missing out. In RL, this is harder to achieve, most definitely, but in SL™, the ability to completely change your look in literally seconds, is too delicious to pass up!

I loved piecing this punk look together, it is grungy, edgy, and over the top, but too much fun! Without a doubt, the best part of this look is this fabulous hair from Digit Darkes. The NATURALe Defiance Glitter Punk hair is just so big and show-offy! Some punky make-up from Celestial Studio also makes this look work, love the pewter coloured lips.

The Sheer Top from WRONG!, complete with the Sobriety Bra underneath is a little risque for me, but looks really at home with this look. I used the sheer gloves from another Sheer Top, one from Little Rebel, and I liked the contrast of sheer layers. When going punk, the best pants I have found are from Jinx Paz, I have several pairs, and love these Anarchy Pants with the belt as part of the texture. I threw in some great stockings from Dutch Touch, and although you can only see a bit of them between pants and boots, I love socks from Dutch Touch in general.

Accessories Galore... starting with a Brow piercing, and the Uma Nose Stud from Tickled Pink. I adore these Lightening Earrings from Magika, they are really well done and very punk rock. I like to throw in a little silly in every look if I can, and this Legohead Choker from Pushbutton Industries is just so fun. I also really dig this Caution Tape Belt from The Syndicate, and I can't wait for them to re-open so I can check out the NEWS. No punk look would be complete without a great pair of Docs, and by far my favorites are from Beckenbauer Productions, they just look so close to the real thing. Now if you will pardon me, I need to go find the Sex Pistols tribute band in-world... there is one right?

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana!

Oh how I love my Orange! I love that we have Theme Colour Events at PIN UPS Night Club so that I remember to buy things in every shade of the Rainbow. But Orange is an easy one; I am drawn to it like a Big Old Magnet! So this past Monday, when my "Rockabilly Ball" Event went Orange... I went all out! I love this look, and loved putting it together. It is the kind of look I could never get away with in RL, but is just too fun to resist in SL!

The 'Flouncy Florence' Jacket from "Thimbles" is too sweet... I was crushing on it from the moment I spotted it! Vibrant and Fun is one of the things the gals at "Thimbles" do best. It paired nicely with these slightly orange infused Jeans from "Digit Darkes" that I was lucky enough to pick up during a spur of the moment insanity sale last week. I think the were $1L at that time... but they are really nice and the more I look at them the more I could see myself paying full price for them (and if I didn't already own over 100 pair of Jeans I might have done it). Again, favorite shoes from Armidi make an appearance, as well as this "Celestial Studios" Hobo bag in Patent Orange, which I also own in Denim (as well as Red Patent thanks to Starley's Generosity to her Group over Valentine's Week). I love this hair from BettyPage Voyager's "BP*", and although I find I have to spend a bunch of time adjusting it to make it work on my melon, it is so worth it. The earrings are a Freebie welcome gift from "Bebe", love nice clean basics like this. Check out the sculptie Bracelet from "Bonita's", which I visited for the first time last week after getting a FashCon notice about this release. Really nicely textured and a great use of sculpties I think... can't wait to see more like this in the future. Again, "/artilleri/" has given me joy in the form of Eye Wear, I love these Huge Sunglasses from Antie, and of course nabbed the Fat Pack of 'Reptile Sunglasses' when I was there last. Knock Knock! Be Your Own Valentine...

For my Second Contribution, as a Fashion Editor of "Vain Inc. Magazine", My "Look of the Month" Page for February and Valentine's Day was decidedly "Un-Valentiney". My Copy Read as Follows;

I had so much fun putting this look together, because lets face it, I can be a DIVA if I really put my mind to it! Every item I am wearing in this look is a favorite of mine, and I am really proud of these photos and the staging of the scene and my choice of look for the month. I do not post-edit my photos in Photoshop with filters and such, these are cropped screenshots. I wanted to do something un-predictable, and although I fell in love with a very special gown at "Nicky Ree" that I am actually wearing tonight, this look shows off my personality and flair for peicing together a look from what I already owned.

Bright New Year

A New Year, a bright new day! I had been waiting for the opportunity to wear this brilliant shrug and pants, both purchsed separately from "Digit Darkes". I loved the vibrant turquoise in the shrug, and the sculted shoulder puffs are so couture! These bright yellow paint splashed leather pants, cleverly called "Taxi" are so hot they sizzle. I tinted up a basic white tank from "/artilleri/" to match the purple accents in the jeans, and paired them with another fabulous pair of shoes, these from "Armidi Gisaci". An edgy cropped hairstyle completes the high fashion look!

The Socialite!

For the plaid event, I decided to go Urban Sophisticate, and pulled this fabulous layered skirt from my closet. I love the movement of the sheer skirt over the plaid skirt and the prim ruched waist detail is really nice. A plain white blouse plays it cool, this one a staple from /artilleri/, and then a dark strand of pearls sets the whole look off. I have to say I am loving this Patent Leather Mary Janes from "Digit Darkes" and find endless excuses to wear them! This loose side Pony tail is so pretty, and makes me yearn for more releases from "H2L".
