Green Hope: Hair Fair & Bandanna Day Post 1/2

Today is Bandanna Day in Second Life, the day we shed our vanity and out wigs to show support for those we hope to help through our donation to the Locks of Love Charity, the annual fundraiser associated with Hair Fair. Bandannas are for sale throughout the Hair Fair with 100% going to the charity. There are a nice variety of bandanas from hair designers, other designers, bloggers, and every day residents of Second Life, and they are only $50LaLas a piece, so grab a few! They are transferable, so grab some for your friends while you are there. They make a great club event, and it's a great way to promote the cause.



This is the first of the two bandannas that I picked up this year, designed by the ever talented *MIASNOW*. I simply had to grab this one in the green version, since it is my favorite colour, and also symbolizes hope to me. I don't know about you, but I would be thrilled so sheer of my RL hair if it meant finding a cure for Cancer, it's treatment, and Alopecia, two of the leading causes of baldness in children.



I went with an all green palate. Starting with this fabulous Chenille Sweater from PIG, and pairing it with a pair of Green Leather Pants from ::Pink Cadillac::. Shoes are the amazing Slinky Stilettos from Maitreya in Pine Green. The bag is another great one from [LeLutka], the GLEN bag in a sweet Olive Drab print. I am wearing a great freebie necklace from PixelDolls, it may still be available in the shop, but I am not certain. The bangle is from =DeLa*=, I adore these Bellini Bangles, here in the Deepforest Green.

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

Sometimes, when I am putting together a "Look Of The Day" for my blog, things just seem to come together almost organically. Other times, not so much. When I try to really work a mash-up, I try to think outside the 'folder' so to speak, taking things that normally would not occur to me, and reworking them. I occasionally have some success with this exercise, other times, it just turns out all wrong. This look has literally been sitting in a draft form since November of last year when I wore it, I just wasn't completely certain I was happy with it. I love all the individual parts, I love most of it, but I am not sure it it works as one look, and that was holding me back a bit. Afraid of being judged for a less then stellar post, I was my own editor, and held back. Today, I decided that the exercise itself was interesting, and that I should just go for it and accept that I am not perfect. This look may be a mistake in someone's eyes, and maybe that is a good thing to reveal, that even those that are known for doing it 'right' occasionally are unsure if they have.



This look started with the need to craft a look based in the colour blue for an event at PIN UPS. I started the way I always do, typing the word "blue" into search, and seeing what comes up. The first thing I hit on was a dress from *DP Serendipity, the Amenohini_Odekake dress. I had forgotten about it, like so many other things I own, and when I threw it on realized it had some blue in it, but was not exactly what I had imagined. I liked it though, well enough to try to work with the top of the dress and see what I could do with it. The striped top is from the dress, which is adorable and as you can see, versatile. It is actually strapless, the tiny straps you see are part of it, so I wanted something more to cover my arms, but it had to be on the undershirt layer. I have no idea how I aquired it, but was lucky to find a Leotard Set from (PixelDolls), it was likely a freebie at some point, and this one was in pink, but tinted up beautifully to an almost exact match to the blue. Joy! I went with a high-waisted Pencil Skirt from Ingenue, here in a lovely Aubergine, making use of the jacket layer for the upper part of the skirt. I get all excited seeing the possibilities of layers, what can I say. I pulled in more blue with some [MG Fashion] socks, and tied it all down with some great ETD Shoes ankle boots.



I was dying to wear this great huge Statement Necklace from Paper Couture, so may have rushed it a bit, but it was too fabulous to resist really. It is one of the parts that has me scratching my head as to it's success in this look. Some big stacked bangles from .+*aya V.*+., which I modded slightly to match, a basic hoop earring, and my engagement ring round out my accessories. I have to say that this Jaden Bag from Cachet is a favorite of mine, I own it in two colour variations, and just love the shape and shading/texturing of it.

I admit I got away from the "blue" intentions of the look, so made a save with this huge-tastic hair from Pudge:. Bowie's in Space in a great Blue Black shade is a big, lopsided pile of love. The lovely porcelain-like skin is from [RockBerry], eyes are Freak Fantasia, while Lashes hail from Celestial Studios. Feel free to let me know whether this look is a hit or a miss for you, I am still on the fence. But I think a little glimpse into the process of creating a mash-up, a willingness to make mistakes, and the guts to put it out there for public scrutiny (or as public as things get on my little blog here) is a good thing.

Leather And Lace

(PixelDolls) has been a long time favorite of mine, when they completely re-focused the shop, selling limited editions of the old stock off, I was anxious to see what new and exciting things would come out of Port Seraphin. The Anticipation outfit was one of my first purchases from the new releases, and is probably still my favorite. I consists of a cream lace blouse, a black wrap sweater, and leather slacks. There are endless layer possibilities, which I always love, so you can wear pieces separately, something every budget conscious shopper should look for. It also comes with a sweet necklace, which I opted not to wear, but it is perfectly lovely. (PixelDolls) continues to create some incredible work, and it is worth it to be in the Subscribe-O-Matic group, as almost every new release offers a free group gift as a sample of their fine work.



I chose to go with one of the last things I purchased before my "Shopping Diet", these amazing ETD Kristin Booties in a lovely Natural bone colour. I thought that cream coloured shoe would add some interest and echo the colour of the blouse nicely. To be sure they 'popped', I slipped into some basic black tights from (CREAMSHOP). A Ruffled Handbag from Urid Dal is a nice classic compliment. A very special necklace from (Caroline's) adds some nice interest at the neckline, the length worked well with the v-neck sweater. (Caroline's) Special Cameo Locket in Gold is scripted so that you can place a precious picture texture inside it, making it really personal and special. A great chunky Diamond Encrusted Square Curt Amethyst Ring from Paper Couture also pics up on the heirloom feel of many elements in the look. I pulled on a Vintage Basic Bangle and Earrings from Luc Jewelry, formerly -EARTHTONES-.



Hair is a stunning Burnt tipped White shade from ETD, the Roxie wig. I am really moving towards shorter styles a lot lately, they feel really fresh, and they have so much more style potential then a lot of long wigs. ETD does some of the best I have seen. Skin is Canimal Essence of Pinup, a real favorite, I love the lip shade. Eyes are from **[Riddle]**, and Love Lashes are from [Detour].
All together a nice put together look with little effort and lots of impact.

Here In Black And White

Sometimes, things can be very clear, right and wrong are as different as black and white. But most of the time, we hover in those middle shades of grey, those murky areas where there is no clear answer. It's hard to know what to do when the answers are not clear, when you need to tread carefully, so as not to offend and not judge too quickly. I have been hovering in that grey area for a while, and I thought it was time to let the shades of grey be reflected in my Look Of The Day. I started with this fabulous Celestial Studios Charmed Line skin in the 00 Tone, it is a startlingly beautiful skin, particularly this Black Smoke make-up. You almost feel as if you have stepped off the silver screen from some old black and white movie, but there is a lovely glow about this skin that goes beyond mere black and white. I love this short Edie pixie cut from [Aden], it is a lovely cut that really accents the jawline, very feminine and classic. These amazing AYN Lashes are from [the oBscene], I think there are stunning, and there were so many amazing pairs to choose from, lashes are one extravagance I can't seem to resist. I wanted to go with a grey eye, and this past week sweet Anju Enoch of *Petit Ange* passed me her latest eye creations and asked me to have a look. These warm_ashgrey eyes are my favorite, but more details on these amazing eyes will follow in a separate post.



I was looking through my new items folders for a great top to wear, and stumbled upon this amazing Empire Top from (PixelDolls), a past group gift. I think it is pretty spectacular, and if I know (PixelDolls), there are likely half a dozen other great colour versions available in store. I felt a little exposed at the throat, and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear this phenomenal +Japancakes+ Wild Petal Scarf, and this was it. It is a lovely sculpted piece, and is scripted to texture change with a click, with dozens of lovely colour options. It is really a statement piece, and works well an open neckline and short or up-do hair style. A simple pair of basic black slacks, these from the now closed *LAST CALL are a nice addition, any pair of basic black slacks would work well here.



This past week, I received an amazingly delightful surprise, fatpacks of all the new shoe releases from REDGRAVE. I know Anessa put in a good word for me, and the first pair I tried on were these stunning and mysteriously named Winter Boots in Black. I couldn't make it two feet from my front porch in winter in them, but they are a lovely sexy heel and buttoned legwarmer combination. A pair of delicate and beautiful Nouveau Earrings from (Miriel) soften the drama of this look. I love that any jewelry purchase from (Miriel) feels like a custom order, the vendors are scripted to allow you to choose options like metal colour, stone colour, and whether you want a transfer versus copy version of the item. For a single colour accent, I went with this great Rock Bag in Green from Cachet. I had no idea it was so large when I picked it up at the shop, but it is a really stylish modern bag, that adds a little chic to this look. The Black Pearl & Silver Cuff is a favorite from Frangipani Designs, as is my (Caroline's) Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring. I really love this look, and think I may stay in the middle grey are for just a little bit longer today.

Cheeky Monkey!

I felt like having a little fun with today's look. Going with cute and punky, and utilizing as many hidden gems in my closet as I could. I am a huge fan of the film of Kevin Smith, I think Clerks is probably the best student film ever made. I know it line for line, word for word, I have watched it so many times. I came across this great :.:71:.: top back in Spring of 2007, that's the date it came into my inventory. It's called Mallrats, and features a picture of Jay and Silent Bob with their signature phrase "Snoochie Bootches". Last night Draco asked me what that meant, I honestly have no idea, but it is darn funny anyways. Unfortunately there was no in-world location to be found, one of the hazards of having been in-world for almost two years. I paired it with a favorite mini skirt from (Pixeldolls) simply called the Everything Skirt, and it really is, it can be use in a dressy look or a punky look with ease, and the prim skirt can be slid up or down depending on the length of the top you pair it with. This Lime Sheer Daisy Lingerie Set from POPPY was probably one of the first I ever bought at the original Lalique Square. I wanted to pull out the colour from the bow on the back of the top and use it as an accent. I always love wearing stocking with a funky mini-skirt or dress, and the bright Lime colour really pops here. Skull Arm Warmers from Canimal get me into a funky mood, and really add some colourful fun, these are great because they are tint-able and you can make then match anything you like.



These are some of my favorite boots ever, from **C-Shoes**, they are one heck of a sexy Fetish Heel boot, real ass-kickers with a sexy twist. They are all prim, and I have to say as someone with a crap graphics card, I miss the days when shoes appeared instantly when you put them on, instead of taking 10 minutes to fully rez into shape. I wanted to go big on the fun with all my accessories, so I started with this absolutely adorable Cuppycake Necklace from {Violet Voltaire}. Violet does some of the best Gothic and kitschy accessories I have seen, and the colour combination here, the fluorescent links and pastel beads really make the Cuppycake Birthday Set so great. What goes better with cake then candy, and ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Time For Candy Necklace is a cute and easy choice, and works well with the layering of necklaces here. Some great [Woo's] Bangles do the trick on the wrists, they are really fabulous, and so inexpensive. Well verifying the SLURL to the shop today, I noticed several great freebies by the door, and almost everything in the shop is less then $100 LaLas. Skull Rhinestone Earrings are favorites from (CREAMSHOP).



Can we talk Hug Monkey? This little fella had been sitting in my inventory for quite a while, a Freebie at Asian Monks Store. Sometimes the sort of Harajuku Punk Princess looks are the perfect ones to add some tag-along friends. Grab him up yourself while he is still Free. More great hair from BP*, the simple and sweet Yuka Chignon was another great Hair Fair find. Skin is from Celestial Studios, with Love Lashes by [Detour] and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are favorites from Freak Fantasia. So in this look, I get to dance about and be as cheeky as I want to be, or else I will sic my Monkey on you!

Green & White Socialite

Colour Events at PIN UPS give me the opportunity to dive into my inventory and search by colour, something I only do on these occasions. I am always surprised to find things that I had long forgotten, or new items I have yet to wear. On Tuesday night, DJ Azu gave us a great party, and the theme was "The White Party". I hit search and came up with this amazing new Dita Knit Blouse sweater from *PERSONA*, a copy sent to me by the amazing Myllie Writer. This is a great item, the sculpted cowl (for lack of a better word) is really well placed, and really works well when dancing or moving. The texturing on the sweater is also nicely done, and is particularly evident on this White version, though it comes in about 10 gorgeous colour options, the perfect sweater to wear as the cool fall weather descends on us. I also rediscovered these great Trouble Jeans in White, a great pair of Pants from (Pixeldolls), the texturing in grey is very similar to the sweater, and so they work well with it. I am not certain these are still available as they are from old stock that was largely discontinued, but (Pixeldolls) is an amazing shop, and if you are not a member of the Subscribe-O-Matic group, I urge you to join, the free gifts tumble in faster then I can wear them.



I also hit on these sexy Stiletto Moody Foxy Slingback in Litchi White, that Stiletto sent to me for a Vain Inc. Magazine shoot several months back. What I think is so great about these shoes is the use of gold and silver accents, which make them very wearable no matter what your accessory preferences. I pulled on a great belt to add a little interest, this Gold Chain Belt with Fur from *UnTone* actually came with black fur accents, but in an attempt to make the gold colour less vibrant, I accidentally tinted the whole belt white instead of just certain parts, so now it is white. Yes, I am a hopeless klutz on a good day, and have only recently mastered basic modify by selecting individual parts skills. On my last trip to Caroline's Jewelry, I picked up this great Dai Suki Earrings and Ring set in Gold. I love the idea of linked hearts, they are really sweet with out being too kitschy, they have a nice classic feel to them and Caroline Apollo always prices her items well within reach. I always like to pull in at least one key accent colour with a monochromatic look, and choose this *Muism* Crocodile Skin Bag. How could I resist my favorite colour after all.



Marleen Vaughan of ..Marlys.. actually leaked this amazing new wig to me before the Hair Fair, and I kept it under wraps until it's official release. We stood on the hills of Floyd and thought up crazy names for her new wigs, but I think that this Miss Oats, Klonopin Socialite is one of the best. The hair is a big fabulous wig on it's own, the amazing sculpted fedora included, and it is touch scripted so that you can tint the hat to any of dozens of amazing colours, I choose the green to match my handbag of course. Another fabulous skin from Celestial Studios, which are classics to me, this is the Blue Evening make-up from the Charmed Line. Love Lashes from [Detour] and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are from Freak Fantasia cap off the essentials. So this is a monochrome look with a little twist, and I would be lying if I didn't admit that from the back, it had me thinking of that very memorable backwards suit Celine Dion wore to the Oscars one year. Her music, by the way, is banned at PIN UPS, just one of the perks of being the boss.

Holey Knit Wit

The cooler fall weather is the perfect excuse to bring out the knitwear. One of my favorite textures, and one that is very difficult to work with in-world, is knit. There is plenty of it around, but finding good realistic looking knit wear is difficult. One of my favorite sweaters, is this Holey Sweater from Surf Couture. It is a fantastic item for layering, as it works nicely over almost any T-shirt, and in comes in about a dozen amazing colours. This Blue one was the perfect started for this look, and since my favorite colour to wear with blue in chocolate brown, the rest came together pretty easily. I have had this Brown Cord Mini from Naughty Designs longer then I can remember, but it is a sweet little skirt, and the heavier corduroy fabric is a perfect match to fall knit wear. I tucked one of my favorite tank tops underneath the sweater, this Pushbutton Industries The Error top in Chestnut with Blue is a great option, as it comes with a tucked or untucked version on all layers. It picks up on both the blues and browns in this casual and flirty look. I adore socks with mini-skirts, and [MG Fashion] has fabulous packs of Knitted Socks that have any colour you could ever want, which is one of my favorite things about [MG Fashion]. I picked up three packs all together, and this great Brown pair was in the Pack 01. A great over the knee sock to pair with minis, shorts, or babydoll dresses, the knit texture is great for the upcoming season.



I went with a boot from Pixeldolls (Luna Viola), the Desert Boot is a great short sculpted boot, that comes in a pack with a black or brown accented version, and the boot colour is HUD Scripted to change to one of 6 great colours, so it is like 12 pair of boots for one great price. I added a casual Denim Hobo Bag from Celestial Studios, one of my all time favorite bags. As a lover of Indian Culture, this Ganesha Necklace from -EARTHTONES- is a special favorite. Ganesha is one of the most identifiable of all the Hindu deities, widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings, patron of arts and sciences, and the Deva of intellect and wisdom. You can't really beat that as an ornamental amulet. This simple set of Rust Wire Bangles from Philotic Energy, is really neat looking, and I honestly don't remember how I acquired it, but I am glad they are in my massive inventory, I think they work well with this look.



Now that the Hair Fair is over, it is time to showcase more of my favorites, like this Maitreya Chloe style. I love the relaxed knit wool cap, and it is scripted to change colours with a click. This brown was the perfect match for this look. The sculpted chunks of hair are really great, I love the way it covers half the face, very sexy. The blue of this Canimal Essence of Frost skin work well here too, picking up on the blues in the outfit nicely. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake, and eyes are Glassy Mustard Green from Freak Fantasia. I am anxiously awaiting fall and winter releases with more great knit textures, somehow the cooler weather just seems for natural for me, even in-world. Must be the weather in Toronto, even though we have scorching summers, I am far more a fan of the fall and winter weather.

A Whole Other Canimal

Canimal has been a favorite place to shop since I discovered it well over a year ago, then it was at a satellite in the original Lalique Square, the site first Retro Shopping Experience. I have been in love with Canimal Zephyr's work ever since. I wear her tattoos, I have her lingerie, I have dozens of outfits, socks, arm warmers, and jewelry, and now her skins. I decided to do a little mash-up with some Canimal pieces, and it all starts with this fabulous Patches Skirt. I bought it pretty much the day the sim was rebuilt, but saved it til now so it was a real stand-out on the feed. It is just so great, you can wear it with almost any colour, and really marks a bit of a departure from the rainbow themed offerings that preceded it.

The skin here is Canimal too, the Essence of Grace tone, the make-up is called Poison, and I love the way it makes my face take on some depth, and the colour and lining around the eyes make them look as if they are holding back something, secrets, tears, something. The lashes are from across the "Quad", the Celestial Studios Classic Prim Lashes are really lovely. This hair is pure magic, another new favorite from Magika called Hate Me. How could you hate this hair?



Other clothing items include some great Canimal socks, these Mismatched Old Striped Socks are so fun, love uneven socks, they don't look like system elements and that is why they are great. I am wearing them on the sock layer, over some fabulous Fishnets from LuLu - Celestial Studios on the undies layer. LuLu is great if you have a favorite colour, because things are grouped by colour and you can really work the whole colour palette. The jacket is one of Muism's great Denim Jackets, love the sculpted collar and the prim length on the jacket, it just looks so great when layering. I also pulled in a []::TULI::[] Tank Top, this cute Jenny Top with it's smudgy grungy Delicious feel.

I loved working the accessories here, and was anxious to wear my latest purchases from EARTHTONES, including this fabulously meaningful Ganesha Necklace in Gold, and the Heartwood Bangles Set, also in gold accents, which comes with 4 bangles that you can wear, either a matched set, or mix the Plain Large version with the Thin Studded version as I have. I am wearing my Caroline's Gimcrack Ring, and these great Desert Boots from Luna Viola/Pixeldolls that have a wearable HUD so you can change the base leather of the boot to one of six leather colours, and wear either the brown or black accented versions.

Mint Chip Ice Cream Days...

Although I use the -Hiccup- Fat Pack Poses almost every day, I rarely get a chance to check out the shop, and I was pleasantly surprised on my recent trip to the Starlust Motel to find -Hiccup- among the awesome vendors there. This adorable Tea Party Dress in Mint Chocolate Chip immediately caught my eye, not just the delicious name, but the dress is adorable and I love the combination of warm chocolate brown and soft mint green.

I love wearing chunky sandals with cute summer dresses, and the amazing Rio Beleza Wedges from Armidi Gisaci. They are from the previous season, but I think they are still available and a really uniquely shaped wedge. I have been putting on and taking on this fabulous cuff and pair of earrings from Shiny Things for weeks, but it just didn't look quite right with most of my outfits. I just felt these Summer Leaves items looked a lot like mint leaves to me, so I finally found an excuse to wear them. The cuff is so beautiful, organic, and almost fairy like in it's fanciful style. Shiny Things has always done some lovely Jewelry, it is often missed when people see the brilliant shoes they do. I also loved another chance to use this Mint coloured Bunny Mechanics Badge Purse from Nerdy Birdy. Still no in-world location, but I have hopes as the brand was sold and the new owner says it is coming soon. I also pulled in one of the sweet Pixeldolls Freebie Stone Pendant Necklaces, they look great on.



This hair is a NEW one for me from AOHARU HAIR, yes they do make more then Ice Cream Cone Hats! I really like this Catherine style, and it was interesting wearing a silver grey wig for a change. Wearing Hazel Eyes from Miriel and Love Lashes from [Detour], get them! Also wearing a new favorite skin from bianca F., the LONDON2 Fata Skin in Ivory. I am anxiously awaiting MORE MAKE-UPS! That would make it Ice Cream WITH a Cherry On Top!

Tart Art Plays It's Part!

Last Saturday, I was pulling my look together, trying to fins a cute casual look, and so I dove into my recent Relay For Life Clothing Fair finds folder. I found a "look", or complete outfit, from WRONG!, which included this adorable Black Skulls Cardigan and sweet Grey Anarchy Mini Skirt. I wanted to add a splash of colour, so I pulled in this great Aqua Tank Top from *Muism*, which came in a two-set with an equally yummy Yellow version. I wasn't sure about the leggings I wanted to wear, so left that for the last minute.

I pulled on these great HUD Colour-able Desert Boots from Luna Viola at PixelDolls, which come in a Black or Brown Accented Version. A messy mis-matched Bracelet Combination from /Milk/, and a single Silver Circle Earring from a set from Diamonde., where some of my favorite earrings can be found.

This fantastic Bysh hair is from Mirai, I love that it is so Rock N' Roll, very cool. Wearing another biancaF. skins, this is the Disco make-up in the Ivory Fata tone, very nice. Still working the BBBM Splatter Eyes from the Mud Set, and Detour Love Lashes.

So all that was left was deciding on the Socks, and that was when I got a little Din Ding IM from friend and RL Artist ByrneDarkly Cazalet, who is the owner of Tart Gallery in-world. She had just opened her Tart Art Clothing shop, which features amazing Pop-Art Prints on Clothing Layers, totally unique and really interesting wearable art. Although the pieces are system element/slider clothes, and do not have hand-drawn seems, they are still full of graphic impact and really worth a look! I chose these fabulous Trapeze Socks, which matched my look perfectly!

Romantic in Emerald Green

Just before St. Patrick's day, I was in the mood for green in a big way, for a change, and was dying to wear this amazing 'Helene' dress from "PixelDolls". The colour is called Sea glass, but reminded me more of an emerald catching the light, darker and lighter tones of the same gorgeous Green. I loved the old PixelDolls, back before they sold off all their items as limited final sales and revamped their line completely, and I love what they are producing now to a large extent, this dress being a perfect example of the lovely feminine details that "PixelDolls" is best known for. My only issue with this dress, was that the sculptie sleeve parts are not mod, so I could no re-size them, and they needed to be a touch larger so that my upper arm did not peek through the prims. While I understand a designer trying to protect them self by not making items modable, I wished that perhaps it included the sleeve attachments in more then one size, my arms are by no means above average in size, and a bigger gal would have been utterly out of luck. I IMd the designer, dropped a note card, and I know there was a skirt fix that was sent out recently, but I am still waiting to hear on the arm pieces. It's just a shame because when you love something, and I do love this dress, that you can't make it work for your avatar without modifying your shape, and I do not modify my shape at all.

I wanted a romantic feminine hair look with this dress, and love "Armidi Hair" for this purpose, particularly 'The Glamorous III', but I always feel like my forehead is too exposed. My solution, I tacked on some of the "ETD" separate bangs and was realty pleased with how the style looked with the soft, side swept bangs. Simple sheer hosiery from "Battered Boudoir" are a must have staple, and these hot new "Maitreya" Slinky Stilettos in a 'Pine Green' colour. The purse was a freebie from "Yummy" and I think it is still available in the main store in Tableau, I liked how the beading on the bag echoed the look of the embroidered bodice of the dress. I threw on my "EARTTONES" Heirloom Locket, with it's colour change scripted gems, and made them match the dress perfectly. A simple, sweet, romantic look.

Sisters In Style - A Detour to JE*Republic

Sisters tend to share things, clothes, make-up, jewelry, magazines, and even sometimes living space. Anessa Stine, my RL Identical Twin sister and I were not so great at the sharing things growing up, We had different tastes in men, clothes, music, and we had separate bedrooms from the time we were 6 years old. She was into 'New Kids On Block' and I loved my 'Guns N' Roses', what can I say, polar opposites in most ways.

In SL, Anessa and I do share, we share ideas, we share a passion for fashion and for the SIM we manage, Retrology. And we share HOT TIPS! When we discover something NEW and FABULOUS on the GRID, there is an immediate IM and a "Come Here NOW!", and a TP. Yesterday was just such a day. Anessa learned about "Detour" from GoGoLita's Blog and headed over, sending me a TP so I could come look at her try on skins. I ended up with shoes, eyes, and hair at "Detour". Late last night, I happened on "JE*Republic" for the first time while looking for purses to include in my upcoming article for 'Vain Inc. Magazine'. I was giddy and TP'd Anessa in, and so we thought, lets give this cute boutique a little moment in the SL sun.

I am in hair from "JE*Republic in both shots, the sleek "Bobbed Hair", and an adorable messy bun called 'Boyish Hair'. All 4 of the dresses pictured are from "JE*Republic". I choose the "Black Suede Dress", which reminded me a bit of some of my early 'Paper Couture’, looks, and is a great Little Black Dress Option, and I teamed it with these great 'Tuxedo Pumps' from "Shiny Things". I also chose the more relaxed 'Red Wine Dress’, which I paired up with some great "Armidi Gisaci" Platform Sandals. The Stacked Wood Bangles I am wearing are from a shop in the same mall as "JE*Republic" called "Atelier AM".

Anessa is wearing her new "Detour" Skins in 'Tatiana', and one of their wigs, the sweet 'Junebug' in Midnight. Anessa chose this adorable 'Black Spangle Dress', which is sweet and girlie and reminds me of dresses we both wore to "Semi-Formal" events as teenagers back in the 80s, and paired it with these sexy slouch stiletto boots from "Storm Schmooz". She also picked up this adorable 'Blue Jean Dress' at "JE" and it again echoes the 80s look, which is really coming back around again (just look at the legwarmers people!), and threw on her fabulous NEW Maitreya 'Golden Velvet' ChiChis. Tie On On! This New Year...

Well, my first flirtation with Fashion Creation on SL was a flop, see 'New Respect...' Post. This time I felt so fantastic I wanted to shout it to the world.. "I Made This!". My "Tie One On!" Bustier, fashioned from images of Men's Neckties, is just the sort of funky cool thing I LOVE! I am so thrilled with the result, I am selling them for just One Linden Dollar and my New Shop in Retrology. Plum Pudding!

For the best in Denim event, I threw on these great distressed denims from The Abyss. I am loving their stuff, and can't wait for more releases. The top, with it's amazing ruched detailing is by the amazing Pixel Dolls, and comes in a set with all kinds of colour and layer choices, and even a fabulous bra to wear underneath, definitely worth the lindens! Although I don't generally buy hair from Tickled Pink, I had to buy this one, it just makes me smile, love the multiple pony tails along the nape of the neck, so cute! I tinted the Bubblegum Pearls from Decollage to match. I think it makes a nice casual look overall.
