Oh Happy Day!

Sometimes, the stars align and things just click. We often are only aware of the meaning things hold in our lives when we suddenly find ourselves without them. It may be a person, a place, a treasured item, or a simple belief that gets taken from us, and it can be devastating. When I heard that Neferia Abel was closing down all her ~~Ivalde~~ and -L'Abel- shops, including her SIM, while she recuperated from illness, moved house, and was without internet connection for at least a month, I suddenly realized how complacent we can get. How we can take things for granted, and how we assume those iconic content creators will always be there for us in SL. Fellow blogger Achariya echoed these sentiments in her post today. Nef is more then fashion designer to me, she is a dear friend, so this was a very emotional realization. But with a very large amount of luck, timing, and help from friends all over SL, we managed to get Nef to leave a shop open on Retrology during her absence, and I could not be more thrilled. You can read more about the story of how it came to be on the Retrology Blog. Neferia, being who she is, could not go without leaving a special gift for her beloved customers, and this Lime Sigrid Dress from her -L'Abel- line is that gift, available to everyone in the new store on the table in the lounge area.



The -L'Abel- Sigrid dress is a stunningly feminine floral treat, the sculpted fluttery capped sleeves are delicious, and it can be worn in short or long versions. I wanted a relaxed look, and pulled in my amazing new Rock Candy Watch from (Caroline's), available right across from the new ~~Ivalde~~ location on Retrology. On the other wrist, another treat from a Retrology vendor, the ~*Fresh Baked Goods~ Gem Jelly Donut Bangle in Silver, colour script changed to match the dress. The Yellow Rose Hair Flower is created by an equally dear friend and Retrology veteran, /artilleri/'s Antonia Marat. The perfect girly shoes to match this lovely look are from (Shiny Things), the amazing Belles, here in the Acid colour.



The lovely long messy hair is from Mirai Style, the wig is called .+*Nacy*+., and I think it is very sexy. This skin was a gift from my sister Anessa, very different from my usual look, the *REDGRAVE* Emma 2 Tan Skin in Smoky1 is definitely a big change for me, but I do like it, particularly the full glossy lips. These eyes are new to me from Miriel, picked up on my last trip over before she closes shop, they are her Standard Eyes in Sunlit Tree, a stunning yellow green hazel eye. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake.

Today, I am happy beyond words, and am looking forward to Monday, June 8th/09, when the Blogger Challenge for ~~Ivalde~~/-L'Abel- starts. Today is one of the hardest days I have had in so very long. Heartbreak is never easy, and no one seems to be able to escape the feelings of loss, anger, sadness, loneliness, and hurt that comes with risking your heart. I risked my heart, after being destroyed by a relationship in the past, and after two years of what I though was the best thing in my life, I am alone again. I can't deny the feelings in my heart, I don't know how long I will feel this way, but I am so very lost. It's hard when you still are in love with someone, someone who was your best friend and who you knew was your soul mate, and see them move in another direction, whatever the reason. Today I am mourning the loss of what could have been, for I had let myself dream of the future, and all those dreams are now dead. I wore this dress this past weekend, when I acted as a fill in DJ for a UVogue Fashion Show featuring Stiletto Moody shoes and LeeZu fashion designs, among others.



This dress was in my inventory, and I threw it on for the event, the LeeZu Betty Flexi Dress in Black is a very sexy number indeed, more so then I anticipated, so I slipped a lovely Black Sheer Desire camisole from **Battered Boudoir** on underneath to make it more modest for a daytime event. The shoes are Stiletto Moody Pinup Pumps in the Patent Color Set, with colour change versatility that I always find helps when pulling together a look in a hurry.

As I was DJing, I didn't need a handbag, so I went with some great jewelry looks. Starting with a simple pair of Claris Black Pearl Earrings from ~Muse~. The necklace is also in Black Pearls, from *kraftika, No.129, as is the Black Pearl Bauble Flower Ring from Caroline's Jewelry. I also grabbed a pair of spectacular Jujubes Gem Antique Silver Bangles from ~*Freah Baked Goods*~, with colour scripted gems set to Black Onyx.



Hair is a simple loose pulled back look from ETD, the beautifully sculpted Yvette style in Black, one of Elika's newer styles, and so nicely textured. The skin is -AnaLu- *inRainbows*, natural complexion, and a neutral toned make-up with subdued .greyish. shadow. Hazel Eyes are from Miriel, and Thora Lashes are from MMS (now LeLutka).

I know I will be OK, eventually, right now all I know is I need time. I have dear friends, I have close family, and I know that time heals all wounds. I have to get over the anger, the disappointment, the hurt of a broken heart, but I know that there is no other path for me. I simply have to move on and come back to being OK with myself, find my strength, and find my way out of the very dark place I now find myself in.

A Certain Shade of Green

It's no secret that green is my favorite colour, it is my mother's favorite too. I was visiting my parents yesterday and went out into their amazing backyard, complete with Koi Pond and Waterfall, Fairy Garden, fruit trees, and an amazing array of wildlife. While there, I saw some colourful birds working away at the feeders, a groundhog scuttling across the lawn, and several fat green frogs sitting on the rocks beside the Koi Pond, catching all those annoying mosquitoes. The frogs are pretty spectacular, brilliant green and it gives me hope that we haven't entirely destroyed the environment as of yet. My parents live just north of Toronto, still in a busy Suburb full of the urban sprawl that is taking over and leaving less green space and more animals homeless. They live in close proximity to a creek, and I think that is where their many visitors are coming from, this includes a pesky mink that ate more the half my fathers expensive huge Koi fish last year, and wild rabbits that have made a home under the deck. Not to mention a pair of Racoons that regularly visit in the night. Green is the colour of that backyard right now, and it is so nice to see after the long Canadian winter. Green makes me feel like that new grass, the leaves on the trees, reborn in a sense. When I wear it, I am happy.



I loved this DP*yumyum Candy Pop top in Green the minute I saw it, it comes with three options for the prim attachment part, this is the longest, and can be a perfectly sweet mini-dress, but I decided to pair it with some spectacular Zaara: Jewelled Jeans in Indigo. Speaking of which, Zaara: is having a sale as we speak, it lasts till June 1st, so get shopping! The shoes are the adorable ETD Heel-Strap Platforms in Emerald, I picked them up for s song at the last ETD sale, the Leather Bag is from Pampered Princess, in this great golden Honey colour.



I was waiting for a chance to wear this amazing Pansy Stained Glass Windows Necklace from *Wallflowers*, I picked it up at the last Jewelry Expo, organized by Miriel Enfield. The bracelets are by ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, absolute favorite for their customizable gems, the Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangle Set in Gold. I am also wearing a ring by the darling Kesseret Steeplechase from *KessKreations*, the Antonia Ring is also scripted so that you can select the metal and gem colours.

On to essentials, and this essentially brilliant Felicity style from ETD, a soft and beautifully romantic wig, with a really lovely single shoulder sweep. The skin, complete with lovely green eye shadow is another -AnaLu- *InRainbows* skin mod, I am simply in love with them, in case it has escaped notice. Hazel eyes are from Miriel, and lashes are the Thora set from MMS (now LeLutka).

Here's hoping I see many more green things, especially those frogs in that certain shade of green, all summer long and for many many years to come. I hope you see many things of green in your summers too, and find the happiness that nature can bring, It really is such a centering thing, to be out in the grass and hear the water splash over the rocks, and hear the birds sing, and know that there is something beyond the computer screen that is worth seeing and saving.

Boppin' High School Baby

Since my blog-mate Nikkita has being working overtime, and doing me proud, I figured it was high time I hopped back in and did a long overdue post. This look is all about the Rockabilly, right down to the title of the post, a song by Don Willis, a Rockabilly icon. I have been all wrapped up in the Rockabilly for ever-so-long, pretty much since my earliest days in-world, and it is still my most comfortable look. This one came together effortlessly, particularly when I opened my gift from Antonia Marat when she recently added a Subscribe-o-matic to /artilleri/. This great Marion Cardigan sweater was part of that gift, and it is so dang cool. I pair it up with a perfect Black Pencil Skirt from Ingenue.



I went to town with the accessories here, starting from the top down with a gorgeous sculpted Rose Hair Flower from /artilleri/, and also Antie's fantastic scripted color change Bead Hoop Earrings. The necklace is a simple favorite go-to piece from Decollage, the Bubblegum Pearl Necklace which is hand tintable, therefore endlessly useful. I went with some great bangles, starting with a Black & White Checkered Messy Bangles stack from [Woo's] on the left wrist, and a Gem Jelly Donut Bangle in Silver from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ on the right wrist, colour changed by script to match my look. Also wearing my Caroline's Jewelry Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring. The final touch, are the J's Real Toe Ankle Belt Sandals in Black. Whether you are a fan of the real toe look or not, they really work for a Rockabilly vixen look.



Any Rockabilly chick would be proud to show off her tats, and I love mine. The upper body Maggie Tattoo is from /artilleri/, while the sexy leg tat is called Damage from AITUI TATTOO. My favorite big wig when going Rockabilly is [Aden]'s Amy in Black, it is Amy Winehouse beehive fabulousness and so much fun to wear. The skin is my favorite Canimal Essence Skin, this is the Pinup make-up, and I love the arched eye-brows that have a penciled in look. Thora Lashes are from MMS, but may be available at LeLutka now, eyes are from Freak Fantasia.

Black Orchid

I have a serious hair addiction, this will come as little surprise to most people who see my blog, I rarely wear the same wig twice. But the moment I spotted this adorable Piggy Moffitt wig at PUDGE, it was love at first 'cam'. I think I wore it for about four days in a row, and was really hesitant to take it off, it is really an adorable do, with the great little stray tufts of hair. PUDGE makes some great wigs, they also have sales on from time to time, and a few days ago I notices that this Piggy Moffitt style was part of this week's sale, so now is the time to go explore PUDGE on Floyd for yourself.



This sweet Lyan Dress from Curious Kitties was a surprise find in my inventory, I think I must have purchased it on my last trip there during the Summer 2008 CSR Rally. I must have spotted it and snapped it up when I was collecting up stamp cards. I forgot about it entirely, a very bad habit of mine, but when I was looking for a classy and fun party dress, I rediscovered it and was glad to have it. It is an adorable sleeveless dress, with a sculpted collar, and a prim corset tied waist. The skirt is comprised of three prim part, which gives it a really nice fullness, and I love the crisp white trim on the edge as well. It made choosing shoes particularly simple, as I opted for my Black pair of Maitreya ChiChi Pumps and used the white rims, pulling in a plain pair of (CREAMSHOP) Black Tights to give the white details a little pop. When ever I accessorize in a hurry, I find myself going for favorite bangles from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, they are scripted, so I can match them with anything. I chose a nice feminine bag from Paper Couture, The Blossom Bag, to work with my little party dress look.



Another stunning make-up from -AnaLu- *In Rainbows* mods, this one is the rosepurple version, very pretty and femninine. I am also wearing lashes from MMS and eyes from Freak Fantasia. A pretty and pulled together party dress look that I wore to a very special party for fellow blogger and absolute sweetheart Hethr Engel's in-world RL baby shower. This is one of those looks that I wish I could pull out of my virtual closet and own in RL.

I Am The Best Smelling Woman In SL®!

I get a lot of review copies dropped on me, and lately, since all my messages have been getting capped, I sometimes don't know for sure who has sent me something. I am not always certain what is a review item, and what is a gift from a friend. When I saw the title of this item in my "Objects" folder, I was simply too curious to let it go, Belice No. 5 it was labled, I rezzed it on the living room floor to have a look.



I have heard about perfume in Second Life®, and I must say, it always has struck me as beyond silly. I think about pixelated food in a similar way, but we eat with our eyes and other senses, not merely taste, so I can suspend reality long enough to toast in the New Year with a flute of bubbly champers. A decorative item also holds value in SL®, from the art we put on our walls, to the knickknacks we line our virtual bookshelves with. I can see a pretty prim make-up case or perfume decanter, I understand the appeal of beautiful things in our living space. But a perfume in a place where the sense of smell is not required and frankly sometimes a blessing (who hasn't worn the same outfit for a week or more), it just doesn't make much sense to me (pun intended).



So here I am, with this review copy of a virtual scent, and it has me giggling and scratching my head, and cracking jokes, but I figured I really should try it before I get to far ahead of myself. I mean, maybe it's really tongue in cheek, maybe we are meant to be in on the joke, maybe it is precisely the thing I have been looking for all of my Second Life®. So there in the folder is the wearable version of Belice No. 5, and I Right-click and wear it, as well as the HUD attachment. The HUD removes my AO, but who needs to walk sexy when you smell great! Immediately I am surrounded by a poof of little flowers, and there on my HUD, a sleek purple bottle.



A little script chat pops up on the screen, telling me that I am "Now spraying every 45 seconds". That seems rather often to me, but as I don't wear perfume in RL, I may just be out of the loop. A click on the HUD brings up the dialog box with lots of lovely options. Target: interesting enough, I can "emote" perfume at a selected avatar, that will be very handy in a crowd. Scale: This has something to do with the HUD, so I ignore it as usual. Graphics: The ability to turn the poofer spray on or off, well, why would I want to turn it off? Emotes: The ability to turn the text emotes on or off. Why would you want to turn off something that tells people how great you smell? Private: You can turn all the emotes to private IM, so as not to alert others to how great you smell, seems to defy the point, but a nice option all the same.



I decide to wear it as packaged, and not fiddle with the settings. I am immediately aware of the green object chat emanating from my person. The first thing it tells me? But the real test, as you all know, is whether others find me as seductive as I find myself. I approach my man, who is blissfully unaware of my seductiveness, as he lies on the couch.



Bam! Here we go, what will he say, will he notice immediately? No response. Oh right, he is getting some dinner. So I wait. The screen fills with little flowers and messages about my amazing sensuality.

It is a bit much, but I know it is modifiable through the HUD, so I think that is a personal preference really, how aware do you want others to be of your presence?

It made for a cute little exchange, but really, I don't think I am hooked on virtual "scent". The box is cute for display, it rings in at a lovely 14 prims, the bottle is 7 prims on it's own. So if you want a great little conversation piece for your dresser ladies, I can say it is a lovely little item of frivolity. It is a novelty piece, and it is pretty hysterical, for about 10 minutes really. It amuses the same way heel clicks did when they were first introduced to SL®, some people love them still, most people treated them as a fad and moved on to the next. The literature included with the set is also humorous, and seems to be very serious in tone, but I think that is to be expected when one makes an investment of this scale. Yes, Belice No. 5 is an investment. Available in-world HERE or on XStreet SL for a purse-stretching $1500 Linden® Dollars, it is definitely not an impulse buy or gag item, but would be perfect for the person that is impossible to shop for because they already have everything.

Would I buy this item myself, I think you can safely bet not, but it is just not my thing really. I think it would be an interesting experiment to wear it out in public, see how many times you might get muted or asked to leave nightclubs, or what kind of comment you can net from innocent bystanders. But it was good for a laugh, and isn't that the whole point of Second Life®? I think the developer and designer of Belice No. 5 would agree, and I did contact Omm Dufaux before blogging this item, to be sure it was sent as a review copy by him. It was indeed, and I did let him know I planned to blog it in a cheeky manner. I do admire the creativity, the scripting, the design of the physical box and bottle, and the interest in feedback in the form of reviews. That says something about Omm, and I can respect someone that has an idea and follows it through to completion. Happy New Year...

With 2008 securely behind us, I am ready to make some new resolutions of the practical sort. I want to say I will be a more consistent blogger once again, and will try to blog daily, but the fact is that I have learned a little something about balancing priorities in the last year, so I will not make promises I know cannot be kept. I want to promise to showcase things new and fabulous and undiscovered, but as I am still on my no-shopping diet, I can only promise to work with what I have and highlight new ways to interpret things already in my wardrobe. But what I do resolve is to be constant, to be fair, and to be honest. I have and will always blog the things I love and treasure, and find value in. I blog as a personal exercise that I am happy to share with anyone who might be interested.



Last night I DJd for a total of four hours, a marathon of two amazing back-to-back New Year's Eve parties at PIN UPS surrounded by my friends and the people I love. I wanted to wear something I could actually see myself stepping out in to a RL party in. Something elegant and comfortable, stylish and timeless, and something I already owned. I was thrilled to rediscover this amazing Paper Couture Silk Gypsy gown. It is from a previous season, and may no longer be available, but it is so amazingly well done. I love the puddle of the fishtail train, the corset style waist, and the billowy sleeves. There is nothing more classic then a great black gown. This one will stand the test of time, and is a treasured piece of my wardrobe.



I went with simple accessories, notably the ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Jujubes Gems Antique Silver Earring and Bangles that I am also wearing in this month's issue of Vain Inc. Magazine's Look Of The Month. I choose to wear the Onyx stones here, but they are scripted to offer a choice of twelve gem tones, and I love the chunky big gems that are really classic yet a real hot trend this season in particular. I am also wearing my Caroline's Jewelry Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring, which of course most know is my engagement ring and I am rarely without it. The bag is a fabulous freebie from (Yummy), and if it hadn't been free I would have bought it in a heartbeat, I love the look of this amazing Vintage 1920's Black Bead Bag. I am a true handbag addict, and as I count the days till I will shop again, I have a growing list of purses I will be buying first. The shoes are the absolutely impeccable Maitreya Virtue in Patent Black that were a treasured find at the Shoe Fair this year. They are spectacular, stylish, and very chic.



This Glamour hair has been in my inventory for well over a year, and is an elegant favorite of mine. I hope it is still available at Panache, though when I purchased it the shop was called Hose Queen. It also comes with some jeweled combs that are really spectacular as well. Skin is my special occasion favorite from Celestial Studios, as are the amazing Lashes. Eyes are simply stunning Hazel Eyes from Miriel.

Wishing you all the very best in the coming year, in both your real and virtual lives. Most importantly, be true to yourselves, be honest about your opinions, and don't be afraid to step away from the herd. Dance to the beat of your own drummer, and do it like no one is watching. Gaucho Marks

On my last trip to Celestial Studios, I stocked up on all my Charmed Skins, making sure I had all of them, since they are my trademark look, and the one that makes me feel most like myself. This purple Violicious skin inspired this look, I love the punky burst of colour, and decided to go with matching hair from the phenomenal Eat Rice!. This Stellar style is scripted so the front portion can be made one of several great manic panic colours. Lashes are also from Celestial Studios, and Realistic Brights Brown Eyes are from **[Riddle]**.



I wanted to work with some of the clothing I have had for a while, but this great Sprawl Bricolage top in Grey is a great sheer blouse with all the layer options you could ever want. Pushbutton Skolnick's new line is really fantastic, and I am glad I nabbed a bunch before my funds totally bottomed out. Make sure you check the Sprawl shop out. I have had these great Gaucho Pants from BP* for a long time, but never really knew how to wear them. I think they work well with this layered look. I threw on some knit socks from [MG Fashion], and went with a monochrome leg look with Black Dune Boots from Maitreya. Since I am on the modest side, I wore a classic bra from House of Nyla under the Blouse, it gives the look a little more class and depth.



I added a few punky accessories with Canimal's Picture Pendant, scripted to click through about 10 different cute designs. I pulled in a big bangle from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, the Jelly Gem Donut Bangle is scripted to change base and gem colours, and can be matched to almost any look. A Pouch Belt from ::MEZZO:: gives added interest at the waist, with cute little skull charms it is really a nice touch of kitsch. A big ~flirt~ Amythyst in Platinum Tiffany Ring pulls in another dash of purple to round out the look. Having fun with a dash of colour makes me oh so very happy.

Sascha's Designs [Review]

Sascha Frangilli of Sascha's Designs contacted me recently about sending me some gowns for review. I explained that I really don't do "Reviews" in the traditional sense, I blog what I have time for, what I love, and although I graciously accept review items, I can never promise anything. It has been a while since I got all dolled up, and I have missed wearing elegant gowns. Sascha was sweet enough to send me four of her gowns, and when I found a little time this afternoon, I decided to take a peek at them. Around The Grid in 365 Posts!

When I started this blog on November 30th of 2007, it was just a sort of hobby, some way of documenting my burgeoning wardrobe and making me feel less guilty about spending so many LaLas in-world. Who knew that in less than a year, I would hit the 365th post! It really is a labor of love, and I feel like I have accomplished a lot since I started. My pictures are better, I am accessorizing with more flair, and I am really learning to mix and match pieces and make unique looks for myself. Today's look got lots of great reactions, so I am glad it marks this big milestone. I love this amazing [MG fashion] Wool Capelet, and of course it is in my favorite Green. It is really sweet and cozy looking, with wide sleeves and a babydoll feel. I paired it with a simple yet classic pair of Dark Blue College Bound Jeans from Total Betty. A simple pair of socks from [MG Fashion] keep my tootsies warm, and this Red Brown colour is one from a fatpack of colours, all really nice and great staples in your sock drawer.



With the red accents on the coat, I went with a favorite boot from (Shiny Things), the Scarlet Ruffle Boots are sexy and have a really nice detail to them, with the button and loop closures and the butter soft leather ruffle. I decided to accent this look with golds, and started with this great bag from Cachet. The Anya Bag comes in two version for one price, with Gold or Silver Accents, and the almost chartreuse golden colour is really interesting. I love the look of these sweet Charm Earrings from Bonita's, a simple low-prim options that adds some colour as well as some cute. I pulled in some ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, with the Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangle on the left wrist, and the Gem Jelly Donut Bangle with Gold settings on the right. I always love wearing these pieces, as you can customize them to match almost anything. Also wearing my favorite ring from Caroline's Jewelry, the Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring.



How cute is this wig? I think it's adorable, and everyone that saw me in it felt the same, so it's even more wonderful when you take into consider that this CUTIE Hair from (JUNWAVE) is not just fabulous, it is extremely inexpensive. Gotta love great hair that costs next to nothing. Skin is from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, with eyes from Freak Fantasia. My favorite Love Lashes from [Detour] round out the essentials. Well, 365 posts in less then a year makes me think that I am actually a certifiable blogger, lets see what the next 365 have in store (pun intended)!

Cheeky Monkey!

I felt like having a little fun with today's look. Going with cute and punky, and utilizing as many hidden gems in my closet as I could. I am a huge fan of the film of Kevin Smith, I think Clerks is probably the best student film ever made. I know it line for line, word for word, I have watched it so many times. I came across this great :.:71:.: top back in Spring of 2007, that's the date it came into my inventory. It's called Mallrats, and features a picture of Jay and Silent Bob with their signature phrase "Snoochie Bootches". Last night Draco asked me what that meant, I honestly have no idea, but it is darn funny anyways. Unfortunately there was no in-world location to be found, one of the hazards of having been in-world for almost two years. I paired it with a favorite mini skirt from (Pixeldolls) simply called the Everything Skirt, and it really is, it can be use in a dressy look or a punky look with ease, and the prim skirt can be slid up or down depending on the length of the top you pair it with. This Lime Sheer Daisy Lingerie Set from POPPY was probably one of the first I ever bought at the original Lalique Square. I wanted to pull out the colour from the bow on the back of the top and use it as an accent. I always love wearing stocking with a funky mini-skirt or dress, and the bright Lime colour really pops here. Skull Arm Warmers from Canimal get me into a funky mood, and really add some colourful fun, these are great because they are tint-able and you can make then match anything you like.



These are some of my favorite boots ever, from **C-Shoes**, they are one heck of a sexy Fetish Heel boot, real ass-kickers with a sexy twist. They are all prim, and I have to say as someone with a crap graphics card, I miss the days when shoes appeared instantly when you put them on, instead of taking 10 minutes to fully rez into shape. I wanted to go big on the fun with all my accessories, so I started with this absolutely adorable Cuppycake Necklace from {Violet Voltaire}. Violet does some of the best Gothic and kitschy accessories I have seen, and the colour combination here, the fluorescent links and pastel beads really make the Cuppycake Birthday Set so great. What goes better with cake then candy, and ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Time For Candy Necklace is a cute and easy choice, and works well with the layering of necklaces here. Some great [Woo's] Bangles do the trick on the wrists, they are really fabulous, and so inexpensive. Well verifying the SLURL to the shop today, I noticed several great freebies by the door, and almost everything in the shop is less then $100 LaLas. Skull Rhinestone Earrings are favorites from (CREAMSHOP).



Can we talk Hug Monkey? This little fella had been sitting in my inventory for quite a while, a Freebie at Asian Monks Store. Sometimes the sort of Harajuku Punk Princess looks are the perfect ones to add some tag-along friends. Grab him up yourself while he is still Free. More great hair from BP*, the simple and sweet Yuka Chignon was another great Hair Fair find. Skin is from Celestial Studios, with Love Lashes by [Detour] and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are favorites from Freak Fantasia. So in this look, I get to dance about and be as cheeky as I want to be, or else I will sic my Monkey on you!

The Party Girl

Putting an outfit together is usually something that takes me quite a bit of time. Choosing the right shoes, accessories, hair, skin, lashes, it is an obsession, and takes the better part of half an hour when I can spare the time. But on the night of my shared Birthday Party with my sister Anessa, I literally went from a Pajama Party Event that ended at 9PM SLT, to the Birthday Bash Anessa had organized for 9PM SLT within 10 minutes. How does one go from a pair of PJs and Slippers to party ready in a flash? It's a little thing I like to call the party dress, and when I was looking for something with WOW factor and little effort, I dove into my inventory and found this amazing Auto De Fe Black Dress from Big Booty Big Money.



I had wanted it for ages, and when Evelyn Edelman of BBBM was closing her shop on [ENVY], she had a huge sale and I finally snagged it. I really love the bow details on the hem, they look like a cross between butterflied and small knotted ribbons, they are really spectacular. The bodice of the dress is one of the most daring plunge v-necks I have ever worn, and frankly, there is no way I could wear something like this in RL, but it is really a creative masterpiece, the greys and blacks accented with a soft lilac shade. It pretty much screams "Party Dress".



Next, think shoes, what one pair of shoes goes with almost everything? Well the Maitreya ChiChi Pump of course! When Onyx LeShelle released them, I could only afford two pair, so I opted for the white and the black versions. I wear them both, very often, and the scripted colour change rims make them customizable to match your look best. When Caroline Apollo debuted her recent releases, I headed out to Caroline's Jewelry to get a pile of new baubles for myself, courtesy of my man Draco's gift of shopping LaLas. I had purchased this great Broken Long Strand Black Pearls necklace in the shop, before wandering outside to take a look around and discovering that the Lucky Chair had a scripted version that you or anyone else can break apart with a click on the lower part of the long loop. Draco stood by as I waited for over an hour to see my letter come up, worth every second, as I adore scripted jewelry. Speaking of scripted, this set of ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Gem Jelly Donut Bangles are the perfect accessory when time is short, with one click you can make them match anything by setting the gem and bangle colours. I pulled on a great Princess Ring from Paper Couture when I got back to my studio to take these shots, also adding this cute Nerdy Birdy bag.



I wore a different hair style to the party, for a more "me" look, but later put on this great Teagan style from ~Tickled Pink~, another Hair Fair find. I love a cute up-do, and this one is really sweet, I especially like the texturing on it, the transition from a darker black to a more smokey black colour on the tips. Parties call for party pretty make-up, so I went with this glittery eyed Silver 2 make-up from Celestial Studios Charmed Line. Also wearing Delta Eyes in Hazel from [Detour], and Bedroom Lashes from Cake. So I went from pajamas to party ready in about 10 minutes, a record time for me. It should be an Olympic Sport!

Doing Time In Horst

Melatonin Hax is a down girl, she is one of the most marvy people I have ever met. She is cool but it is effortless, she is smart, and funny, and has great taste in tunes. She is also half of the think-tank from *Thimbles*, and the genius behind ::SPLIT PEA:: Hats. She has been busy the last few weeks, and I can tell you now that you will be very happy that she has been. Take a look at your maps, class, and look at the new neighbors to Floyd and Lloyd, home of the Starlustrious Peoples. There are some new kids on the block named Polly Jean and Horst. Mel and the rest of the Starlust Crew have been very busy, filling up another SIM with fabulous, and having spent a little time in Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen, you will see why you would be willing to kill to get in behind those bars. A whole crop of fabulous new shops, or inmates as we call them, have set up on Cell Block H, and you are going to love it! Mel sent me this adorable ::SPLIT PEA:: Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen Pillbox Hat with Veil this week, and I was dying to put a look together to showcase this adorable creation. I can't wait till the official opening of Horst so that you all can get a look, it is going to be a great place to discover new-to-you content.



When I think prison, I think stripes, so I went for it with this adorable dress from **THE CLOSET**. The Scale Print Dress comes in a number of colour combinations, but the black and white stripes make it slimming and eye catching. I really like the ruffled details on the cap sleeves. So many colours to work with here, but I decided to stay with the black and white, and paired the dress with a great White pair of Tights from Blaze*. These shoes are absolutely drop dead fabulous too. The Death Dolly Goth Mary Jane Pumps from Unique Needs! are the antidote to sugary sweet Mary Janes, with rows of spikes and skull and crossbones adornments. I love a chunky pump like this, and pairing it with a pale opaque tight and mini-dress is always a great move. A fabulous bag from **DP**yumyum means I can carry all those prison essentials, shiv, cigarettes to barter with, maybe some girly mags for those lonely nights. This is one of the great Vinyl Totebags offered by **DP**yumyum, and the selection is great, as is the price. Now to the prison meals, nothing better then some ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ to make doing hard time a little easier, and the new Turkish Delight Bracelet Set is a great way to go. These sets from come in several combinations, a real departure from the candy colours I normally associate with the shop, and the price of $100 LaLas for a set is a steal.



Hair is more Hair Fair fabulousness, this wig is from Philotic Energy, one of my longtime favorites. I love the texture of this Charcoal with White Tips Colour, and the Adi style works well with the Pill Box Hat too. Skin is Canimal's Essence of Pinup, an absolute favorite, and eyes are the piercingly sexy Splatter Eyes from the Watery Eyes - Mud Collection at Big Booty Big Money. If prison garb looked this sexy, people would be desperately trying to get in rather then out. I await the opening of Horst, so I can do the Jail House Rock reenactments I have been longing for.
