I ran into Candi Honey tonight, who let me know she has put out more of the fabulous Old Gravy we all know and love. A lot of the great hair styles that you have all been missing are now available again, as well as some great new fashions. Candi also let me know she had put out some new skins tonight too! Oh how I love Canimal, Canimal Zephyr has provided me with some of my favorite fashion fixes since I discovered Canimal in the first Lalique Square. I was hooked from day one, and have watched Canimal's work develop exponentially in the fantastic department. This Allegra Dress is one such example of a fantastic sexy party dress, a little Gothic Lolita, a lot Sexy Club Wear, it has everything. An interesting neck line, bare shoulders, a flouncy mini skirt, and prim laces on the front of the skirt. I am also wearing Canimal Essence Flamenco Trash Lashes, with thick Black and Red lash layers, flirty and fun.

This dress made my purchase of these amazing Bax Coen Black Suede Ankle Boots worth every LaLa, the boots are so sexy, and the ruffle is optional, and is scripted, as are many other parts of the boot like the laces and metal work, for ultimate customization. Pulling out the red from the dress in the ruffle of the boot made it work so well, adding a lot of interest to a mostly bare leg. I love this bag from Bare Rose Tokyo, the Key of Heart bag almost looks like a piece of Jewelry with it's shiny heart, metal chain and findings. Earring are long time favorites from Diamonde., the Jagged Earring in Black had just the edge I wanted for this look. I covered up my arms in these great stacked heaps of Sazerac Bangles from Bebe. A simple rign from Paper Couture, the Princess Ring, fit in with the Black and Silver accents in the rest of this look.



This hair is some of the brilliance I was missing when Old Gravy vanished months back, now in it's new home on Retrology, this Apple style is one of the many they have brought back in store. I love two-toned hair, especially when it is creatively done, not just typically skunk like. The skin is one of the new *QS* Skins, I am seriously falling in love with the bright eyed look of these skins, very fresh and young looking. Eyes are my favorite multi-shade Hazel Gems from Miriel. Sharing POISON CANDY With Friends!

I am a girl that loves anything Rockabilly, Psychobilly, or Retro, particularly when it comes to fashion. I previously blogged about the introduction of the Poison Candy line into SL in the capable hands of Alla Ruff as commissioned by the Cannery Rezzable SIM. Check out my last post here. I was blown away then, so imagine my delight when I logged today to find NEWNESS Hot from the Poison Candy Shop!



Gweneth Lange with Rezzable dropped 6 fabulous Dresses on me, so I grabbed my Best Friend Trixi Palen and we got all giddy playing dress-up! I have to say, the Poison Candy Wedding Dress was made for Trixi, the girl is Pink Personified! This is the first Psychobilly Bridal Gown I have seen in SL, and it is amazing, The Stockings, Lace Gloves, Ruffles, Bows, and Veil are included, and there is a sweet little Spider on the Veil. The Layers of Tulle in the Skirt have a spider web pattern, just divine! I think Trixi looks Amazing!



The Posion Candy Tattoo Dresses are sweet, and harken back to some of the first dresses released under Poison Candy in SL. Pink with Flexi Prim Skirt on Trixi on the Left and the Beige with Sculptie Skirt on Me on the Right Side. These are all recreations of real dresses that Poison Candy has introduced in their shop, and can be found on-line as well. Alla Ruff did an amazing job, with optional Flexi or Sculptie Skirts, really sweet. The Blue Vintage Skull Dress has a lovely little Cameo Brooch on the Bodice. It is a smooth, lovely summer party dress with a little Cheeky Skull on the Cameo.



My personal favorite of this new batch of Poison Candy, is this amazing Jasmine Tea Party Dress, which comes in red or white. It is the combination of a sculpted skirt and the flexi prim skirt that make it so full and romantic, and the lovely boa on the waist is such a lovely touch. This one I want IRL! Trixi similarly loved this Cocktail Hour Dress, very sweet and simple, yet it is faithful to a retro cool that you would see the rockabilly kittens wearing at the Hot Rod Shows in Vegas. HAPPY CANADA DAY 2008!

It is no secret that I am a proud Canadian. Anyone that has ever heard one of my DJ sets had heard an awful lot of awesome CanCon (Canadian Content), I love to put the spotlight on some of the rockin' artist we have up here in the Great White North. Today I have 3 DJ Sets as part of the Retrology SIM WIDE BASH. The first was the Canada Day Barbecue Bash in the Park from 12-2, which was so fun getting goofy beside prim heavy platters of food, a smoking grill, and even a box of Tim Bits & a Roll Up the Rim Coffee from Tim Hortons. The Stanley Cup made an appearance, and it was non-stop Canadian Hits.

Sisters In Style - Poison Candy

Earlier this week I got a frantic IM for my RL twin sister Anessa Stine, who was thrilled to bits that Alla Ruff (Veschi) was releasing a whole Rockabilly Line of Clothing in conjunction with a Real-World clothing company. The line was produced as a commision through Rezzables and is available at the Cannery Rezzable location. With a name like Poison Candy, who could resist (check out their Website)! Poison Candy's slogan is "Fashion For Outlaws", and it's Real Life Home is in SIN CITY no less! I say Viva Las Vegas, Baby!

Since Anessa and I manage PIN UPS, one of the best places for a Rockabilly Riot event in-world, she contacted Alla to see if we could get some review copies... and OH JOY! Alla sent pretty much everything to us, and Anessa set up this adorable shoot. To say we LOVED these clothes doesn't even capture how great they are, we fought over who got to wear what, and we found them to be flawless and oh so very bad girl SEXY!

Memories of Mahj...

When I was a little girl, I discovered my grandmother's Mahjong Set in her closet. It was in a special rosewood box, and when I flipped open the lid, there were dozens of shiny Bakelite tiles with foreign symbols on them. I was enchanted. I never saw her play "Mahj with the Girls" (referring to her 70-something friends), so I have no clue how the game works, but I remember those tiles. A few years ago, I saw one of those antique roadshow things, where they did a whole segment on Bakelite, the first form of plastic, and talked about how rare and treasure it was becoming. They showed a really cute bracelet made of coloured tiles, similar to my grandmother's, and I wanted one. I never did get one, but imagine my delight when I got a FashCon notice yesterday from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, and they had released a bracelet just like the one I had been dreaming of! I previously posted about the Retrology Rose Hunt, where the gals at ~*FBG*~ hid a rose with one of these in it, and I loved that one too, but this version is fully scripted with 12 tile colour options and 5 spacer bead options. It has the delicious name of Mahjong Bakelite Mooncake Bracelet and it is my new favorite thing. What is Phil's place for if not to have the things we have dreamt of in RL?

I had been waiting for a chance to wear this fabulous ~Ivalde~ Gauthildr Dress in this Yellow and black combination, and I clicked my bracelets to choose yellow tiles and black spacer beads. What an awesome match! The dress is a great muted yellow, and has a really nice retro feel to it. I tossed on a great chunky bead necklace from Decollage, the Bubblegum Pearl Necklace is tintable, but I often wear it black. I slipped into my favorite go-to shoes, the Maitreya ChiChi in Black, and I tinted the rims to Yellow.



To carry on the Retro feel I had going, I went with a favorite wig from Old Gravy, the Cash in Black. I love the messy back-combed crown, and the colour change scripted flowers mean I can match it to pretty much anything I want. I am not sure if this style is for sale yet at the newly re-opened OG, but maybe sometime soon it will be. I wanted my favorite red-lipped rockabilly chicky make-up, and it has to be the Canimal Essence Pinup skin in the Grace tone. Eyes and lashes are favorites from [Detour]. Now I think I may go read up a bit about what the game of Mahjong is all about.

A Little Attitude & PERSONA

So today I feel all attitude, and I do attitude with a whole lot of personality. When Old Gravy re-opened on Retrology last week, I made a point of scooping up the one or two hairstyles I had yet to collect. This awesome Vicious style is hella punky and rad, and really love the way the flexi twists move. I decided to put on one of my dozens of Celestial Studios skins, the one I think is the most dramatic, this awesome Infrared Make-Up in the Charmed Line. The dramatic red shadow with the Hazel Eyes from Philotic Energy are really a striking contrast. Lashes are from Detour, Love my Love Lashes.

I really was looking forward to wearing these NEW jeans from Pushbutton Industries, I love the colour of PBI's Jeans, they are unlike the normal plain old blues you see all over the grid. This pair, in the Rust colour, is the Squatter Jeans, and it comes in an Undies layer for boot wearing, as well as 3 pant layer options, sand belt, and 2 belted versions. As for the tops, well this is a brilliant set from PERSONA, new to the Retrology group of Vendors. The top is called the Itaparica Blouse, and comes in a number of colours, and also this tintable white version. It comes on Jacket and Shirt Layers, with or without the Camisole. Now the trick to the 2 different coloured layers, and why this top is your best bet, is if you wear the Camisole Shirt layer version first, then the non-camisole Jacket Layer on top, you can achieve the look of 2 different colours as I managed to do. I tinted the shirt layer a dusty rose, and the jacket layer a deep teal for a really nice contrast, To increase the layered look, I edited the length of the Jacket Layer, shortening it slightly, so that the bottom of the shirt layer could be seen too. This PERSONA top is a MUST HAVE for sheer versatility and customization.



These fabulous NEW Boots from Jaywalk are a dream, when Lyra Muse dropped a fatpack of them on me this week, I was in heaven. So many awesome colour choices and buckle options, but this Teal version of the Kit boot is the one that really caught my eye. Love the chunky curved heel. I also decided to wear a favorite necklace from Red Ruin, this Gothic Lolita Necklace is so sweet. I picked up the skull motif from the necklace in this great messenger bag from WRONG. I threw on a simple bracelet from SD Wears to complete this look, this one is called Beyond The Stars, and it has a really nice Murano Glass look to the Beads.

Old Gravy Is Back!

This is going to be a quickie, because I am working away on my article for Vain Inc. Magazine which is due in Tomorrow... but I had to share my JOY! Old Gravy (OG) is BACK! After months of wondering if/when Satine Dot and Candi Honey would return to our little mega-verse, I got word from Candi just yesterday that she had seen my previous blog post asking for information about the whereabouts of the shop, and news of any return. She IMd me, and told me that Satine was swamped with RL work/school and wasn't likely to come back anytime soon. I was glad for the update, sad for the news, but made Candi the offer of a shop on Retrology for them, if they felt like making a return.

Today I got word from Candi that she had been in touch with Satine, and that they were interested in a spot on Retrology! As I am typing, Satine and Candi are setting up shop, and I could not be more thrilled! My go-to for all the best in Rockabilly, Psychobilly, and Punk is back and right on my doorstep! I am wearing the amazing Never Die hair from OG, it just seemed appropriate! This little skirt and top set is the Kat Von Dee, also from OG, I would have worn my OG Horror Pop Chucks too, but I thought they might look odd with this sexy number. All Wrapped Up In The Rockabilly!

The minute I saw this hot little number at Little Rebel, it made my Rockabilly Kitten heart soar. It is one fierce little dress, called the Kool Kitty Panel Dress, and there is so much to love about it. I love the bow detail, the animal print panel and the black satin sides, which really add a slimming effect, but check out the sexy shine on my backside. All I can say is that my man was very happy to see me in it, and his eyes were on my tush all night.

To top off my look, I had to go with some hair from Old Gravy, because they did Rockabilly best, and I am still waiting for news on whether they will be re-opening their store anytime soon. I would find the prims on Retrology to give them a home, they were too fabulous to be forgotten. I thought I had pretty much every make-up in the Charmed Line of skins from Celestial Studios in my skin tone, but somehow missed this amazing Infrared one, I picked it up recently and I love it. If only Starley Thereian would release more make-ups for me in her Charmed Skins, this is like #1 on my wish list! Although I have a few of Canimal Zephyr's Tats, I love wearing this Henna Set from Canimal with dresses, it is very sexy and doesn't distract from the colour of the dress or outfit you are wearing.

Of course, no look rockability look is complete without some heavy /artilleri/, and this 8 Ball Handbag and these fabulous colour tintable Rockin Earrings are perfection. As for shoes, there is something so brilliant about these Alexis shoes from Melanie Zhao's ZHAO Shoes. The cherries on the shoes are so cute and they are uber sexy, but worn with this dress look less like stripper shoes and more like vixen heels. I love these layered necklaces from OPIUM Everyday and love tinting them to go with my favorite outfits, they make your money go so much further! I little metal with a nose stud from Tickled Pink worked nicely here too, and a set of funky bracelets from WRONG! also add to the 'Bad Girl' look I have working. Now I am ready to get "All Wrapped Up in The Rockabilly" at PIN UPS!

And They Call It... Puppy Love!

I am not a huge Pet Lover in RL, by that I mean that I don't own any, and that I really have no desire too, I like animals, am kind to them, but they are not my thing really. In SL however, I think pets can be a blast, you don't have to walk them or clean litter boxes, and you can tuck them neatly back into your inventory when you go out for a night on the town. This little sweetie, named Toto, was picked up back when I was putting a Wizard of Oz 'Dorothy' Costume together for an Event at PIN UPS. I just think he is adorable, and if someone clicks on him, he yips and barks at him or her, how is that for attitude!

So it was time to take little Toto out on a shopping trip, and what can I say, cute little puppies make me want to dress the part! Girly pink from "/artilleri/", in these fab Plaid Pants and sweet 'Lacy Leo' Leopard Print Camisole, made a nice jumping off point for this look. The strapped chucks from "EnvYou" in Mischief Cove are still my casual shoe of choice, and I own them in all 8 colours, I think I wear them more than any other single pair of shoes I own. Still going with the cute factor, this adorable necklace and bracelet I picked up at "Miam Miam", I have always been a fan of a charm bracelet and tiny prim work. Now check the purse, yep it's transparent, and what is that you spy through the bag -- cell phone, compact, hairbrush, and BIRTH CONTROL PILLS! Could you die! No unwanted Prim Babies in this Avatar's future I tell ya!

This hair, from my last trip to "Old Gravy", called 'Gun Club' is adorably punky! And yes, still no word on the whereabouts of the M.I.A. "Old Gravy", but my quest for information continues. Putting Out An A.A.B. - Where Is Old Gravy!

Since getting a little more serious with my blog, I have been compiling a list of SLURLS so that I can let you know where you can buy what I am writing about. Yesterday, while doing my rounds, I headed over to "Old Gravy" to get the SLURL, as I was wearing this fabulous 'Jersey Girl' hair from them. When I first TPd in I was sure I must have had an old landmark, so I checked search... No Old Gravy in search either. I knew they were on the Unsung Heros SIM, so I scoured the whole thing, no Old Gravy. I was panicked. I looked at Satine Dot's profile... this is what it said:

Ok, surely her partner in OG, Candi Honey, must have the REAL Landmark in her picks, ok here we go [No Parcel, Unsung Heroes (156, 103, 42)]and you guessed it, NADA! Another owner, Malkov Trescothick, he must know the new 'Secret' Location... in his picks [Hannah Hannya, Voice-aholics Headquarters, Unsung Heroes (173, 100, 26)] again NOTHING! I immediately joind the Update Group, to search past notices for any news, not a single archived notice in the last month. And it appears as if none of the owners have logged in several weeks. I IM'd my sister Anessa Stine who was attending the GLAM World Fashion Extravaganza. I said... "OMG, Old Gravy is Gone!". She knew nothing and asked Antonia Marat, who was sitting nearby, Antie was similarly perplexed, we all knew nothing!

If Anyone Knows Anything About Where Old Gravy Went... Please Please IM Me or Leave a Comment on my Blog, I am so sad, this was my "Rockabilly Princess" Home in SL, and I am distraught.

So here I am in this Uber cute outfit, with my favorite hair from Old Gravy, the 'Jersey Girl' and all I can ask is, will I ever see "Old Gravy" Again? I wanted to gush about these amazing Leopard Print Pumps from ::69:: with the itty bitty skulls on them wearing Top Hats and Hair Bows, and about this awesome Sweater from "amerie's NAUGHTY" with the cute little charms on the zipper pull and the amazing arm prims, and the sweet bunny ears hood.. but I am finding it hard to focus. Better Late Than Never!

Well... Finally Getting Caught Up On My Blog, I didn't want to leave this one out. I know... Superbowl was almost a week ago! We had a lot of Events at PIN UPS that weekend, I DJd a Superbowl Party on Saturday Night (Feb.02/08), and then on Superbowl Sunday, we had a "Good Sports" Event. I wanted to show you the costumes I wore to those events, they were a riot and I had a lot of fun putting this together. During the FashCon Free Rez Day Freebie Mania, I stopped in to "LaynieWear" and grabbed these two adorable Cheerleader costumes. The Referee, I had from Halloween and was looking for a good reason to wear it, when looking for over the top Sexy Costumes, "LVS" or Liquid Velvet Studios is a great place to start! So Here is my personal tribute to Superbowl Mania, something that is definitely not as much of a Passion up in Canada, where I hail from, but seems to grip my American friends in SL like crazy! How I love "Old Gravy" Hair, Oh I Love It So! And this Style, one of Satine Dot's Newer releases is just Brilliant! Could you die! It is named "Cash" and makes me feel like a Roughed up June Carter Cash... So of course I wore in on "Rockabilly" Night at the Club! I love the scripted colour change flower too! Had this little blue dress just waiting for a "Best in Blue" Event... and viola! Very cute indeed, and I love the Chiffon Layers, "Armidi" does some really adorable dresses in so many colours, you can always find a fave. Rockabilly Red!

For my weekly set at "Rumble in Brighton", a UK Based Rock N' Roll Club, I went pure oldskool Rockabilly! That means pulling out the heavy "/artilleri/", like this fabulous 'Vicky Dress' with optional patch on the jacket layer in about 8 different options! These were my first Tattoos in SL, perhaps the most expensive too, and absolutely worth every single Linden, Canimal makes the best bright coloured ink tats in SL. Rockabilly hair is what "Old Gravy" is all about, and this style named 'Jersey Girl' comes with a pile of optional headbands or flowers, like the ones I have chosen. A few funky accessories and I am all set to go!

Rockabilly Chickie!

For DJ Draco's "Roots & Rockabilly" Event, the theme was 'Best in Grey'. So I dove into my inventory and put together one of my favorite looks. Little Rebel makes seriously great clothes in all kinds of styles and they are very reasonably priced. This "Devil Workshirt" is a long-time fave, and being Jacket layer means I can pile on the Tats! My /artilleri/ Pyramid Stud belt is one of the most utilized accessories in my wardrobe, and I have had it forever, it's a classic. When I go rockabilly, my hair choice is almost exclusively Old Gravy. Their styles are Pure fun and the colours are Manic Panic and then some!
