Moose on the Loose

So apparently there are consequences for trying to do too much to soon after hospitalization, who knew. I am such a bloody perfectionist, sad but true, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do it all, I sabotage myself every time. So to put it simply, I am falling behind on blogging as sleep seems like the smarter option. Apologies to my 5 readers. *lol* The name of this post just came to mind when I threw on this great *Thimbles* Miso Moose Long Sleeve top. I used to be addicted to the show Northern Exposure, and had a collection of Moose dolls. Yes, how lame am I? But this interesting cut out of antlers on the neck of this top is really sweet. I paired it up with a very basic blue jean, these part of a set from *LAST CALL, sadly no longer available, but there are many similar denims on the grid.



When I am going for comfy casual, high heels are the last thing on my list, but I adore these adorable Ughs Boots from Jeepers Creepers, they are just so perfect with skinny jeans. A great big bag from SLink was all I needed as I headed to the Starlust Motel to pick up some great stuff to support the amazingly talented Crystyle Bukowski of Pudge who is going through a rough financial period in her life, the offerings from her friends with proceeds going to Crystyle are fabulous, I urge you all to go check them out. I threw on some wooden and gold accessories, starting with this great Loveletter Locket from (Yummy), scripted to flip open and reveal the lovers in question, you have to get it to see how special it is. Freebie earring from *::UM::* add a little sparkle too. *Fishy Strawberry* has arm fulls of Stacked Wood Bangles, maybe my arms are too short for the left arm stack, but the one for the right arm worked out just fine. (Caroline's) Natural Gold Bead Ring with it's wooden band bring in both the golden and wooden elements I was working with.



Who has heard of The Alice Project Hair? Not me until the Hair Fair, but this Shizuka II style had my name all over it. I love bangs and pony tails, that combination of sexy and cute. The textures are nice and I am anxious to go see what other wigs they offer. Skin by Canimal, and Bedroom Lashes from Cake give a soft sweet look to Glassy Mustard Green Eyes from Freak Fantasia. OK Kids, time to get my slef Moose-y-ing back to bed.

Pretty Fly for a White Haired Girl

Since discovering FashCon a few months back, my shopping expenses have at least doubled. So many great designers, and all I have to do is sit back and in come the Notices. I can literally shop while I DJ... well, window shop at least. I had never even heard of "Magika" till I got a recent notice showing off some of their Hair Newness, and so there I was. I loved so many of their punky styles, I think i picked up about five while there, but this one was so fabulous I had to Grab it without even getting the Demo (I rarely try on Hair Demos, I just am too impulsive, and I have over 300 hair looks, maybe more like 350... ack)! This style, called "Fly" comes with the Retro flight helmet and goggles and it just made me feel adorable and kitschy and silly, so I threw on my "D2TK" Aviators, made them some crazy colours to match the awesome "Canimal" belt! Sometimes it is just too much fun switching up my look. I grabbed these jeans at "Kenzie & Co." on my last trip to Cotton Candy and just love them, instant faves to add to my other dozens of Jeans (See previous post "What's In My Closet - Them Jeans"). OK... gotta FLY!

Camping Out!

For the "Camping Out" Event at PIN UPS, I raided the Closet for my best cold weather camping look. This Jacket, a favorite, from "Little Rebel" screams Lumberjack's Daughter to me! I paired it with these great Cargo Khakis from "Fashionably Dead" and some sturdy boots from "Jeepers Creepers". I love this Hair/Hat combo from "PushButton Industries", and think it adds just enough funk to the look to make it mine. I dashed over to "RUST" for a backpack, and came up with this great one at a very reasonable price (< $100L!). I'm ready to Hike!

Who Do You Think You Are?

Well, I Have to Say I am not a Blog Addict, but lately I have been watching the SL Fashion Blogs and thought that it might be cool to have one of my own. Not because I am some fashion savant, in fact, I am a far from it! I have no training in Fashion, nor do I spend my days pouring over RL Fashion Mags and trying to emulate those looks. What I am is a DJ, a Nurse, and an Artist with an appreciation for things done well. In SL, unlike RL, we can wear whatever we want, whenever we want, and we can change our look completely in a matter of seconds. I am a visual person, and I love to make a look that works. I have style tastes from the Punk to the Couture, from Retro to Avant Garde, and I have found a place where I can not only do it all, but I can do it all with relatively small trouble or expense. So here begins what basically amounts to a Scrapbook and Shopping Guide for some of my favorite looks, designers, and builders in SL!

Casual Winter Look

The SIM that I call Home, "Retrology" is now fully winterized, snowy and breezy, I feel like dressing the part day after day. This look is Casual, Cozy, and maybe even Cute! Love the *NEW* Emily Hair from ETD, and the Boots from Jeepers Creepers have that "Reach Out and Touch the Suede" great texturing.
