Brown On The Town

Warm and wonderful, but not especially exciting, brown can often be a very neglected colour. Most of us favour black over brown, and I am no different most of the time, but this dress from "First Impressions" makes brown sexy, warm, and delicious. When it was time for a "Beast in Brown" event at PIN UPS Night Club, I was happy to find another reason to wear this fabulous wrap dress, I love the crossover top, I love the little flexi prim knotted ties. I love that is had a nice layered look, a well finished trimmed hem, and an little lacy under-layer for modesty that still looks so sexy.

I adore this wig from "Curl Up And Dye", it is inspired by the hairstyle that the character of Frenchie wore in the Film 'Grease', but I think it goes beyond mere costume hair and works nicely as a stylish shorter look. Skin, Eyes, and Lashes from "Celestial Studios" are always my favorites, and I particularly love this make-up look in 'Purple, Orchid'. I think it is warm enough to work well with an Earth tone brown like this one.

I paired the dress up with some of my favorite tights from "Blaze", I love that they are opaque and seem to have so much depth of colour, as tights would look in the light if you wore them in RL. My 'Leather Vixens' from "Tesla", a most brilliant staple shoe, work perfectly with this dress. Paired with the tights, they really elongate the leg.

Although I normally favor silver tones accessories, gold just naturally goes with brown, and these amazing 'Dragon' Earrings from "Untone" really paired up nicely. Again, a favorite chunky bracelet comes in handy, this one the 'Circle Panic Bracelet' from "Swallowtail". A great big handbag from the amazingly talented 'Ingrid Ingersoll', complete with matching gold accents let me feel polished and ready to shop. Not like I need an excuse, but this time I have a great one! Time to head off to the 'Relay For Life' Clothing Fair to grab more goodies to blog on.

The Power Suit

Every now and again we have a "Sexy Office Party" at PIN UPS Night Club. It's a chance for Guys and Gals to get on their Power Suits, or be Sexy Secretaries or Assitants, well... you get the picture. The week we had just such an event, and really, sometimes I think as an event planner, I make these event up to have a reason to SHOP! When I need a Classy Business Look I head to "First Impressions", they have always made a great impression on me, with classic looks and so many great wardrobe options. I wanted to look like the 'Bosses Wife' this event, since my Husband and PIN UPS Owner Draco was DJ and therefore 'The Boss'. I opted to wear this fabulous wig from "ETD", 'Julianna'has been one of my favorite styles ever since I saw it on my sister Anessa, and I hesitated getting it for a while becuase she wore it so often, but at the recent ETD Sale, I gave in and went for it, getting the Naturals pack which includes this amazing Copper colour. I wanted a little drama, so went for a more 'Evening' look with this great skin for "Celestial Studios", I am so stuck on the 'Charmed Line' and own it in almost every make-up, I have to say it... I just can't switch up my skins like so many people can, I am so in love with the ones I have worn for a year now, and I think that they give me a unique look if nothing else. This look came of classy, chic, and ready to rule the boardroom!

WEEK 1: Flickr SL - Look Of The Day Winner!

I chose this "Look Of The Day" by Luna Jubilee as the winner of the fist weekly contest. It really has all the things I think make a great look, a sense of personal style, attention to detail, a nice mix and match of pieces from several great designers, all the details so anyone can recreate this look, and an over-all WOW factor. The Socialite!

For the plaid event, I decided to go Urban Sophisticate, and pulled this fabulous layered skirt from my closet. I love the movement of the sheer skirt over the plaid skirt and the prim ruched waist detail is really nice. A plain white blouse plays it cool, this one a staple from /artilleri/, and then a dark strand of pearls sets the whole look off. I have to say I am loving this Patent Leather Mary Janes from "Digit Darkes" and find endless excuses to wear them! This loose side Pony tail is so pretty, and makes me yearn for more releases from "H2L".
