Meat The Pin-up

Had a blast tonight at the PIN UPS "Eat Me!" Event, an edible costume contest. I was stumped as to what delicious designer duds to wear, when Apathia Hammerer, designer of Pig, reminded me she had sent me over copies of her Hamkini and Bacon Wrap suit. I had forgotten her sending them, and had a good giggle at the time, so I tried on the Hamkini and it was an instant yes, in the way that only meat garments can be. I felt a little exposed in nothing but ham steaks, and felt it was a little close to my skin-tone to look entirely wholesome, so I threw the Bacon Wrap suit on underneath the Hamkini, and viola, we have the vintage meat pin-up look of my dreams! It's a lot shocking, and someone commented that it looked like I was wearing my insides on the outside, but I thought it was entirely hilarious, and the absolute height of edible fashion. Never has an ensemble so far from kosher looked so delish!

Pure Jeanius

I love a great pair of jeans, this is particularly evident if you ever saw my inventory, since I own close to one-hundred pair. I have pretty much forgotten what most of them look like, and I certainly have favorites, but this great pair of -Veschi- Jeanius Pants has got to be one of them. I love something that is completely unique, and Alla Ruff has a whole shop full of that. These Speckled Denim Pants from -Veschi- were a previous group gift, and I had almost completely forgotten about them until this past week when I was looking through my NEW STUFF folders for something I had never worn. I love the buttons and high waist panel in the front, and the wide flared cuffs are really funky. I opted to pair them with a very simple Aqua Tank Top from *Muism*, and built the rest of the look from there.

I seem to forget to wear Tattoos until we have an event at PIN UPS that calls for them, but this Body Graffiti Rockstar Set from Canimal was my first set, and is still my favorite. I received this awesome Bliensen + MaiTai Bottle Tops Jewelry Choker as a review copy many weeks back, and it is another piece I really love. That fact that the pendant has the letter K on it makes it even more special for me, since everyone calls me "Kets" in world. I really love anything that looks hand-crafted, there is too much futuristic looking jewelry in-world, and Bliensen + MaiTai do a lot of great pieces that fit the bill. Anessa sent me this set of M.R.M. FACTORY "Universe" Mix Bracelets a few weeks back, they are a really funky jumble of bracelets and bangles, and they are scripted to touch to change to several themes, for completely different looks, really an amazing set to have. The bag is a great find from a trip to Gritty Kitty this week, as I am always on the hunt for great purses. This Gritty Kitty Tote Bag is scripted to change to a number of different textures, so you actually get close to a dozen looks with the one purchase, talk about making your LaLas go the distance. This trend for scripted items is one I am enjoying, it saves on items in inventory, and makes for a lot of individuality in your accessories. I love these Kitties Lair Kewt Peep Mules, the colour selection in this style is great, but I really liked this Aqua and Gold pair, they are a really unique combination. I was really interested in the many hair styles on the feeds this week with bright coloured chunks in them. I picked up this Metric Style from Gritty Kitty, but since it was not scripted and had no streaks, I opted to modify it by hand, selecting linked parts, and hand-tinting a section to match the Aqua Blue in this look. That is one major benefit of wearing white wigs, they are easily tinted. Skin is one of the amazing Canimal Essence Skins, the Simplicity Make-Up was in the Release Review Pack that Canimal Zephyr sent out to a lot of bloggers, and it was the reason I went a purchased a three skin pack, this week I am planning to go back and buy more of them, since they are such a unique skin. Love Lashes are favorites from [Detour], and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are from Freak Fantasia.

Simply Red

When the dress code calls for red, I dive into my inventory and see what comes up under the search for the colour. I always see if there are hits in my *NEW* Items folder first, and lo and behold, there it was. This fabulous (seriously cannot think of another word for it) Laika Dress from ~~Ivalde~~ is so well crafted. First off, the skirt is insanely cute and almost tutu like, made from sculptie ruffles, and is just so wonderfully textured. Then there is the one sided sculpted shoulder, which is so bang on trend right now, but this dress has almost an 80s' fabulous feel to it. It comes with the great printed tights, images of faces, in black shadow on white almost Warhol-like. Neferia Abel endlessly fascinates me in her ability to create wearable art, she has such skill and dedication to her work.

Accessorizing was tricky, because red is one colour, but comes in a million shades. I started with my shoes, and opted for these adorable Kitties Lair Francine Mary Jane's in Red with Silver Accents. These were review copies dropped on me when my sister Anessa over at On Your Toes told the creator that I might like them. I don't just like them, I love 'em! The are just such statement shoes, they are a little chunky, a lot funky, and have adorable touches like the laces with the metal tips. I went for a little more of a pinked up look with these great Leather Ring Wristbands from ETD. I have had them for over a year, so I am not certain Elika still sells them, but she should, they are so well made, particularly because they are not sculptie prims. For earrings, I chose these ToRiCo Earrings, that have a caged crystal heart, I believe they are from kikis closet, but the naming was a bit confusing to me. Well worth finding though, they are a bit goth, but a lot interesting. I literally went out in search of the perfect bag to wear with this dress, and after hitting a few of my favorites, finally happened upon this amazing Wrist Chained Clutch from Muism. I think the texture and the colour are a perfect match to the ruffled and ruched dress.



Yay for new hair! Picked up this great wig at *0 Style* (Zero Style) on my last trip over, Yuuya in White is a great shaggy style, I love the one untamed curl on the crown, so cute. The skin is my favorite Red Lipped Celestial Studios make-up, Red Dusk, from the Charmed Line. I particularly love the subtle smokey eye shadow. Big Hazel Eyes are from Miriel, and Love Lashes from [Detour]. What started out as a simple search for red, became simply fabulous!
