Week 11: Flickr SL™: Look Of The Day Winner

Week 11 Winner in the Flickr Second Life® - Look Of The Day is IsabellaGrace Baroque's brilliant submission entitled Living Dead Girl. The image is highly stylized, very dark and disturbed, yet strangely captivating and romantic. IsabellaGrace has once again gone beyond a mere fashion shot, and created an image that is very artistic, with the lighting, pose, and setting carefully choosen to compliment her 'Broken Down Doll' look. I really love this picture, and I think that the wardrobe elements are brought together quite ingeniously.

IsabellaGrace has managed to make this Big Bomb Hair from BP*, look completely different then I have seen it before, and we have all seen it a lot! The Dress, from GHOST, is also perfect for this look, it is a more stylized Baby Doll, and is remarkably adaptable to this Gothic look as most of the offerings from the shop are. IsabellaGrace's skin, from the amazing MiaSophia is mesmerizing, and makes me want to go check out MiaSophia's shop to see what other unique and creative skins she has to offer. I particularly love these striped Ring Master Tights from Kyoot Army, they add to the look of the Marionette Doll so perfectly. Of course the use of the Marionette Broken Strings from Mina Junk is simply essential.

Week 10: Flickr SL™: Look Of The Day Winner

Well, with all the Easter Celebrations on Retrology and Working on My Monthly Column for Vain Inc. Magazine, I am a little Behind on Weekly Winners for the Second Life®: Look Of The Day Contest. Since Announcing the Week 9 Winner, there have been oodles of great submissions rolling in to the group, so I have really had my work cut out for me. But the minute I saw this fabulous submission from Yuvi Robbiani, I knew it was a winner. This looks less like a collage of a single look, it is really a special photo, and it resembles a piece of art. It is eye-catching, really well shot, and really expresses a unique fashion sensibility.

Yuvi is wearing a fabulous gown from Kyoot Army, whose creations are really unique and different, and can be worked into your wardrobe to suit so many different looks, from goth to glamour. The addition of one of Morrigan Hyun's amazing hats from Elegance Hats, this one called Valena is really clever, and wearing it with this edgy hair from TRUTH really is ingenious. The lovely goth skin from TULI makes the look even more dramatic. I love that Yuvi chose to wear these very interesting gloves, which resemble electrical tape wrapped around her forearms and hands, it really adds something dark and disturbing to the ensemble.

For my Second Contribution, as a Fashion Editor of "Vain Inc. Magazine", My "Look of the Month" Page for February and Valentine's Day was decidedly "Un-Valentiney". My Copy Read as Follows;

Enough of the red flowers and pink hearts, enough of waiting for that someone else to make your Valentine’s Day special for you. Be your own Valentine by wearing clothes you love and being the Diva you are! A fabulous jacket from ‘Digit Darkes', sassy shorts from ‘MG Fashion’, and just a touch of red in some sizzling shoes from ‘Armidi’ is all you need. Celebrate your love for yourself this month! Whether you are singing “Love Fool”, “Love Stinks”, or “I Love Myself Today”, have a great one!



I had so much fun putting this look together, because lets face it, I can be a DIVA if I really put my mind to it! Every item I am wearing in this look is a favorite of mine, and I am really proud of these photos and the staging of the scene and my choice of look for the month. I do not post-edit my photos in Photoshop with filters and such, these are cropped screenshots. I wanted to do something un-predictable, and although I fell in love with a very special gown at "Nicky Ree" that I am actually wearing tonight, this look shows off my personality and flair for peicing together a look from what I already owned.
