COLLABOR88 - The Fates: Atropos

This month marks the three year anniversary of COLLABOR88, and it is a shopping experience of truly epic proportions. The theme is Odyssey, and it is entirely evocative of Greek and Roman Pantheon Gods and Goddesses. I opted to evoke the three Fates, or Moirae, with three looks to match the three Goddesses.

Considered the cruelest of the three Fates, Atropos wielded the scissors that cut the string of life spun and measured by the other two Moirae. This final cut was the decisive time of death, ending the life of the mortal.  I choose to think she was merely misunderstood, and decided to set this cruel beauty in the night, sky full of stars, after the sun has set on a life.  Atropos is wearing white here, a color long associated with death, in this fantastic sexy gown by Baiastice. I may be partial because she is my real life twin sister, but Anessa Stine is one of my favorite content producers in Second Life. A Murder Of Crows

I was feeling a little emotional, so it was the perfect night for a dark and haunted dreamscape pose prop shoot with a little help from Savoir Faire available exclusively at Pose Fair 2014. This set-up, called The Crows is little bit Burton-esque, a lot Hitchcock, and every pixel perfection. The poses are in the set-up, you just sit and the menu pops up. You can even use other poses in the box by simply standing in place or using a stand to flip through your own dramatic faves. I can not stress enough how great the offerings are from Pose Fair this year, so go before the show closes on May 3rd.



I opted for an Emo Kitten look, as it struck me a bit ironic to have the birds attacking the cat for a change. This hair and hat combo from Magika was just the ticket, along with a fully kitted out set of scripted pants by [R3VOLT] and this great tie and cropped tank-top combo from Virtual Nirvana.



Can we talk about these amazing garter arm-warmers from LOULOU&CO? Just brilliant. To be quick on my feet I opted for some super sneaks from the latest KUSTOM9 event, a unisex pair with re-size scripts by Bleich. 



But most important of all, the crying and red nosed tattoo layer on my skin is by Izzie's, and I bought it on sight. I was looking for the perfect crying skin, and I found it, finally someone who understands that mascara does not run in  mirror images from one eye to the other. The red nose is perfect, but there is a crying version without the mascara runs too, so rush to grab this item up, it includes crying eyes in the box too, which I skipped, but the whole set is worth it for us photo crazy people. Love to Izzie's for this amazing work. it seems to work on almost every skin I have, so no need to worry over your favorites.

Ducks In A Row

Sometimes, 'Getting Ones' Ducks In A Row' is like chasing Ice Cubes in a Hot Frying Pan. A little ridiculous, a lot useless, no matter how hard you try, they keep shifting out of place. This is sort of my theme this week, I need to let the ducks do their thing, and hope they get organized on their own.



Having had a painful and weepy day at the hospital, I was just happy to finally get home and find a minute to pull this long in the making post together. Ever since I got these sweet GACHA Birdy/Alchemy Spring Babies at The Chapter Four, this post has been germinating. 



Needing to build a space where I could unleash my little Ducky family meant a special build on my parcel. I wanted it to be kitschy and homey, lots of spring flowers and lots of pops of color and whimsy.  I had so much fun, I may leave it on the lot far below my sky box - just for kicks. 



I wanted to pull out lots of the goodies I have gotten from The Arcade, which closes down today, so I hope you all have been GACHA'd out for the time being. I admit, I went back at least three times, just wanted to try for some of the things I skipped the first time, and some things I wanted to have more of inventory, like these wickedly awesome -tb- Vintage Campers.



Lots of colorful clothing from a -new to me- shop, Luas Urban Style, and accessories made this look as geeky chic as I had hoped. Shoes from deeR are my new favorite kicks, with a zillion ways to customize them by color, textures, metals, prints, in all parts. While, I never managed to wrangle my ducks, so I tucked them safely back into my inventory. Now I am off to bed to read so I can let my real ducks hop into a row!

Sunday, sweet Sunday... that day with no plans and no obligations, the day that you can sleep in and no one asks why. I love doing comfy and relaxed on Sundays, and this weeks amazing My Attic event at The Deck gave me the perfect outfit for a day full of doing nothing. Somnia has 2 awesome fat-packs of relaxed goodness up for less than 100L a pop. A great set of numbered tanks in 9 color options, and the matching pants in a fully packed set, as well.  Mix and match or wear as separates, the whole look is just MESH perfection.  I finished the look with great flat sandals from CandyDoll from the KUSTOM9 event. Sometimes a blog post is inspired from the bottom up, just like today's. While making my way through the aptly named Whore Couture Fair, I realized I must be a Whore, because I actually found quite a few great items. Most of the items are for the Lola/Tango/Phat/Azz crowd, so very little would work with my avatar, but the items I did find, great shoes and accessories, were well worth the time invested in seeing the whole fair.

These Classic Skates by NS::, which I believe are based on a purchased original full perms sculpt, are simply adorable. They have a sweet little HUD that lets you switch up the boot design/color, the laces, and the wheels in 5 different ways each. They include the skating animation too. All that for just $150L, you would be crazy not to grab a pair just for kicks!

The rest of the outfit seemed to just spring into being, with a definite Suicide Girl meets Roller Derby vibe.  Some tights and booty shorts layer up nicely, and I added a well worn /artilleri/ zee tank top, to pop a strap from under this 'off-the-shoulder' sweat-shirt by .:AVALE:.. 

The ultimate in accessories include great multi-option bangle sets from Maxi Gossamer, always a go-to for a host of eclectic jewelry styles. The necklace was another great find at the Whore Couture Fair. The Pornstar Aviators are a deliciously cheeky pair of sunglasses that have a HUD to change the image printed on the lenses, so wickedly cute.  I felt very cheeky indeed, and headed over to the SL Roller Derby Arena to chat up one of the Suicide Girl team members, who invited me to see a practice next week. I can't wait!

Sometimes you just want to go out, you don't care where you go, you just have to be somewhere new with someone new. When you don't know where you are going, you need to dress for anything, and this look can work it.  A great fat-pack, yes 5 colours, of this blah.BLAH.blah Paisley Dress for just 100L, I am so on that, available now at the Designer Showcase. Getting out and shopping events is my new favorite way to find content, since I have no current landmarks, no idea what shops have come or gone in the past four years, an event that showcases the best or newest under one roof, from dozens of content creators, is the perfect way to dive back in the SLeconomy.

I love a great pair of tights, and now that there are multiple tattoo layers, wearing a semi-opaque tight means your precious ink can still be seen. *LACUNA* has some stunning hosiery, and it is Slink compatible, here on my feets. So yes, mesh feet, mesh shoes from fri.day, and tights that wear like they should, WIN WIN WIN!

Another great little bargain from The Arcade Gacha Event, going on now (unless you have been living under a sim, you know this). Noodles put a heap of sweetly coloured Meg Satchels into a machine and all of them are worth grabbing up.

Necklace combo is a lovely Hand of Fatima, or for me a Hamsah, from MG. Bangle sets are from Knock!, and can be found alongside my favorite tattoos from Letis Tattoo. I decided to update my facial piercings, and went with a wicked little set from ellabella. Now that I am all ready to go out, I await your TP with patient anticipation.

So much has changed in the 4 years I was absent (by choice) from SL, and yet some things never do. Great friends that have welcomed me back have made it so nice, and new friends make it a new adventure too. As a Blogger, it is a huge challenge, not to mention an expensive proposition, to start anew. There are new features to learn about and showcase, new designers, new and really exciting changes to fashion in general, but then there are the things I missed. 

As always, I blog items I love, and I try very hard to be sure that I blog original content. Although I had this look ready ahead of time, and was planning on calling this post "Big Yellow Taxi" in any case, it seems to me that the current Open Space Sim Bait & Switch tactic in Phil's Place going on, it is even more relevant.

I feel for those who were using there Open Sim under the, albeit vague, terms set forth by Phil's place, and am worried we are about to lose a lot of beautiful places, quiet retreats, and art spaces for yet more overcrowded ugly places in-world. Time will tell, but it seems wrong to punish the many for the crimes of a few, if in-fact there were those who were abusing the "Light" use terms.



This look started with this jacket I picked up at Trix' or Treats during the recent Grid Wide Ghost Busters Hunt, it wasn't the free gift, but when I saw it I had to have it. The Yellow Retro Hoodie with optional Black Shirt beneath it is bold and bright and really makes me happy. I paired it up with a great pair of Soft Black Leather Pants from IBIZARRE, a place I discovered for the first time this week, and love the soft sheen of them, really a great pair of classic pants. I love my EnvYou Strapped Chucks, own them in every colour, but this may be the first time I have worn the Yellow. Love this Caution Tape Belt from [THE SYNDICATE], it's got great visual impact. One of the first purses I ever purchased is this adorable 8 Ball Bag from /artilleri/.



When Canimal Zephyr passed me this adorable Deadly Lullaby Necklace, I was thrilled. Not only is is super cute, but it also has amazing scripting and you can customize the details, like bows and pendant colours, to make it work so many ways. I pulled on a cute bracelet from ::MEZZO::, they have great inexpensive sweet jewelry. I love these great ~MAGIKA~ Lightening Earrings, which are multi set, and with a little linked part editing are a great look. Also wearing my Caroline's Jewelry Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring.

Another great Hair Fair find is this Mia Koda wig from Hair Solutions. I really am enjoying re-discovering what I purchased during that lag infested spending spree, particularly from the shops I bought from and learned of for the first time. A favorite Celestial Studios skin, great eyes from **[Riddle]**, and lashes from Cake complete the essentials. I am sad watching the Open Space Sim issue hurt so many, I hope those at the "Licken Labs" get a clue before it's too late.
