Lizzy In August

I have fallen in love with my skins, the skins I bought at the last round of The Season's Story (Spring) from ^^Swallow^^. They are the Alice series, and I just love the glowing highlights that give them a luminescent appearance. They also take make-up really nicely from just about any other content creator, what is not to love. As I was perusing the blog feeds, I came across information about The Showroom Event, and spotted a pre-release version of a new skin from my favorite place, ^^Swallow^^. Well, always up for a new skin, I headed over and snagged up this stunning Lizzy skin in the Coffee skin tone. Since I already had the appliers, I figured a great skin for just $250L was a steal, and snatched it up. I was not disappointed in the least, this skin is so lovely, and even though it is a darker tone than I would normally wear, it still feels like 'me'. You owe it to yourself to try on a ^^Swallow^^ skin, just to see how you like them, there are heaps of different looks in the store, but if you want a deal, make sure you head to The Showroom and grab up the Lizzy while it is still available at a pre-release price.

FFL - Meet Me On The Beach

The first sign that Summer is finally here is the return of the Bikini to the shops.  I took little Monsieur Louboutin with me to the beach to enjoy the sun.  This adorable Bikini from HOLY SHIrT! is a Fashion For Life Exclusive, and comes in three fabulous colors. It fits perfectly, and is just cheeky enough without being vulgar, but I am a layer loving girl, so I always head to the beach with a great pair of shorts, also a FFL Exclusive from HOLY SHIrT!, and a great tied Sweatshirt from Sky, another donation item at FFL. Sometimes, taking separates parts and putting them together in a new way to make a whole can be a revelation. That's a lot of what medical research is about, like the research funded by FFL for the American Cancer Society. I may be partial because she is my real life twin sister, but Anessa Stine is one of my favorite content producers in Second Life. She can take a blank canvas, like this mesh maxi dress, and work it to look like silk. Lovely details like the tuned edge at the seams, and the drapes and folds are all hand painted. May The Fourth Be With You

A long time ago, in a Second Life far far back in November of 2006, a little avatar named Jhuzen Ketsugo stumbled into her Second Life. She joined SL after watching an evening news program that highlighted the 'game' and all it's various role play communities. When she joined, she didn't know that you could be anything and everything on one avatar or account, so she choose a name that was similar to a Star Wars fan-fiction character that she had been writing about, for her own geeky amusement.

Ket-Su Jhuzen, the name of the original fan-fic character set out to become a Jedi in the city of Naboo, and found herself a Jedi Master who tried to teach her how to use the Force. Unfortunately, a huge snag was hit when Ketsy could not figure out how to build a darn thing, her own light saber included, linking two prims was simply too much to handle.  And thus Ket-Su tired of her quest to become a Jedi. Besides, most of the time she sat in on NOJ Council meetings and watched warring groups of posturing SL Jedi fight over how things should be conducted in the larger RP community. Bo-ring much?

So Ketsy branched out, met people, learned to shop like a mad woman, made another account and did her little stint as club dancer to manager to co-owner in literally a week's time, and then a new DJ was created. From there, the story takes off on it's own. A legendary Shopping Addict was born from themed events at a little hot spot called PIN  UPS, that required new outfits on a daily basis, and a blogging journey began. But let's be clear, I joined SL because of a love for Star Wars, and love it I still do. So on this May the 4th, or Star Wars Day, I wish you all the good things that can come from your Second Life, and hope it has enriched your first life in the way it has mine.




All three of these fabulous futuristic fashion looks are from R2, and can I just say, Star Wars geeks have never had it so sexy. This amazing Twi'lek Skin and matching Lekku (head tentacles) are by Stargazer Creations.  This is so much more advanced then my last Twi'lek Dancer look, back in July of 2008, and at the time that was spectacular in and of itself. Mesh clothing and shoes just makes all the difference, not to mention the ability to use appliers to blend in my amazing Slink Avatar Enchance hands and feet.  The look here is not inexpensive, but you never know when you might feel the urge to pull out a blaster and blow some Villainous Scum into the dust of the Dune Sea. Speaking of the Dune Sea, if you have never been, you have to visit the Little Mos Eisley SIMs. There are two linked SIMs, and they are visitor friendly, all you need to do is wear a floating text tag and explore. The details and the builds are sheer perfection, an absolutely a must visit location for anyone in SL. Lush As Spring Tulips

Spring doesn't just mean a palette of sweet pastels, it also means lush petal tones, like those in the tulips trying to poke their way out of the earth to enjoy the sun.  This lovely look made me think of those beds of silky red tulips that blanket downtown Toronto, and welcome the warm weather with the rest of us. With Passover starting tonight, and Easter just around the corner, it is time to celebrate new life and all things that bring family together. With favorite TV sitcoms like 'The Office'  in mind, I put together a business savvy look that also lets me rock my personal style and quirk. Yes, I am a nerd and darn proud of it! The title for this post is a quote from 'The Office', a hilarious episode where Jim impersonates co-worker, and may I add - fellow Second Lifer, Dwight Schrute, and concludes his argument with these three now famous words. Yes, the character actually had a SL Avatar and it made for one of the most insane and wonderful episodes ever. When I told my RL sister and fellow blogger that I was going to post an office look with many of the items from this months COLLABOR88 Event, she told me not to bother posting it on her blog On Your Toes, as she had done the same thing. When I saw her post I almost fell off my chair, both of them, her look is entirely different, even though we are wearing the same skin type we look completely unique. How great is that. Sleek In The City

Today I have been a busy blogger, this is my *gasp* second post of the day, and I am so in love with this look it may stick around in-world for a while.  After a day at the office look, I needed to chill out for a night on the grid, dancing and generally being a nuisance. When I stumbled into a little shop named Overhigh this week, I went Kooky for Cocoa Puffs over these fabulous printed leggings, and about half of the rest of the shop too. I love having a shiny tush, and they have so many great colors in the print, it was impossible to mess up this look.

I was dying to wear this two-tone Gathered Shoulder Blouse from tram, it comes with a solid black version also, and it actually has an available add-on pack of Mesh Dickies, you know, the collared shirt looking bibs that fake a whole shirt. I grabbed those up in a snap, and can't wait to see how they mix with other items as well. Great shop to see if you have never been, so much yummy tram goodness!

Again, the NEW round of COLLABOR88 has me doing a little happy dance every time I open my inventory. This time, it is this most Epic wig from Clawtooth, called Betty Spaghetti, that has my heart doing the Macarena. In addition, the bag and heels, and even the necklace and earrings are all from this new round of COLABOR88 excellence, run, do not walk, and get in on the fun!

 
Another fun round of Nail that look with a matching nail polish, and this go-round has me tickled to my finger tips with the rediscovered Bliensen + MaiTai, who I loved so very much 4 years ago, and love even more now. Couldn't you just die for these amazing 'Steampunk' nail appliers, 8 sweet colors and a rusty cog at the nail tip. My visit to the new Slink West, where Slink appliers and apparel abound, has me now broke -- but happy with shoes I snagged at 50% off their regular prices and heaps of new nail do-dads.
