That's a lot of what medical research is about, like the research funded by FFL for the American Cancer Society. Taking knowledge of how different cells interact, looking at the abilities of viruses or hormones to affect cells or organs, and stealing the best ideas of mother nature, re-engineering them to work for us rather than against us. Cancer research in particular is all about taking bits of fascinating information and medical knowledge and using what is known to effect an unknown and possibly life saving reaction in the body. It's pretty miraculous when you think of it all.
