Someone's In The Kitchen

Well, back to the day to day of my Second Life, and my Kitchen has been installed and I have set everything up. I have already made a heap of Jams and Jellies, taking advantage of the early summer fruits and berries.  I love all the little details I was able to pack into my new kitchen, with a decidedly retro feel, it is homey and warm.  It looks like someone, likely my kitten, has already been into the milk this morning. Oh well, something to clean up is never a bad thing when it means spending more time in my lovely bright kitchen.  Come on over and share some Raspberry Cake with me, I can't possibly eat it all myself, and I will put the coffee (or tea) on for us.

At home, I always go for a casual look, and jeans and a loose top are pretty much my standard go-to uniform.  It doesn't mean I have given up entirely on my love for fashion and shoes, and this pair of lovely Debbi Wedges from [LVLE] is the perfect pop of color. Moving Day

I am getting my move on in Second Life, moving from a lofty Sky Box to a sweet little place on the ground.  I picked up The Karin Cottage by Trompe Loeil at last months COLLABOR88 event, and decided it was time to have a real kitchen and a little garden out back. With favorite TV sitcoms like 'The Office'  in mind, I put together a business savvy look that also lets me rock my personal style and quirk. Yes, I am a nerd and darn proud of it! The title for this post is a quote from 'The Office', a hilarious episode where Jim impersonates co-worker, and may I add - fellow Second Lifer, Dwight Schrute, and concludes his argument with these three now famous words. Yes, the character actually had a SL Avatar and it made for one of the most insane and wonderful episodes ever. When I told my RL sister and fellow blogger that I was going to post an office look with many of the items from this months COLLABOR88 Event, she told me not to bother posting it on her blog On Your Toes, as she had done the same thing. When I saw her post I almost fell off my chair, both of them, her look is entirely different, even though we are wearing the same skin type we look completely unique. How great is that. The Mullet Shirt

I am sure most SL designers would not find this to be the most flattering nick-name for one their designs, but wait, I have a point. This *Fishy Strawberry* Tokyo Shirt is all about the business in the front, party in the back vibe, thus I have dubbed it 'The Mullet Shirt'. A pretty fitting description for one so very sexy look. Everyone loves surprise skin!

This is my first blog outing for my new *League* Skins. The Erin line is debuting today at the 2014 Skin Fair, so run, don't walk to snatch up some greatness by the bucketful. The lip tints options on this set of skin is perfect, since I have always had to choose the eye make-up based on the pre-determined lip shade. Now, every skin can have a nude or red lip, or anything in between, and it always works.

I took my new favorite Oxford Pump heels for a walk about, here in the black and white classic version from The Secret Store. It's no secret, I love this shop, and after I did my post over at On Your Toes, I headed over to grab up heaps of even more fabulous items at great prices. I need to pump up my post 2010 wardrobe in a hurry, and love finding a brand that knows it's target. I am ever so happy when I find an item I adore at an event, and then find the shop is full of mass amounts of awesomeness.

A little [BURLEY] wig to match my black and white palette, and I was set to stroll the city. It's funny now looking back at my past SL, I wore white or black hair almost exclusively. Now I am having fun playing with color from head to toe, who knows, tomorrow I could be a red head. You've been warned.

So much has changed in the 4 years I was absent (by choice) from SL, and yet some things never do. Great friends that have welcomed me back have made it so nice, and new friends make it a new adventure too. As a Blogger, it is a huge challenge, not to mention an expensive proposition, to start anew. There are new features to learn about and showcase, new designers, new and really exciting changes to fashion in general, but then there are the things I missed. 

As always, I blog items I love, and I try very hard to be sure that I blog original content. I am mindful of copyright and IP rights, and I want to fall on the right side of the line in what I choose to showcase. Moose on the Loose

So apparently there are consequences for trying to do too much to soon after hospitalization, who knew. I am such a bloody perfectionist, sad but true, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do it all, I sabotage myself every time. So to put it simply, I am falling behind on blogging as sleep seems like the smarter option. Apologies to my 5 readers. *lol* The name of this post just came to mind when I threw on this great *Thimbles* Miso Moose Long Sleeve top. I used to be addicted to the show Northern Exposure, and had a collection of Moose dolls. Yes, how lame am I? But this interesting cut out of antlers on the neck of this top is really sweet. I paired it up with a very basic blue jean, these part of a set from *LAST CALL, sadly no longer available, but there are many similar denims on the grid.



When I am going for comfy casual, high heels are the last thing on my list, but I adore these adorable Ughs Boots from Jeepers Creepers, they are just so perfect with skinny jeans. A great big bag from SLink was all I needed as I headed to the Starlust Motel to pick up some great stuff to support the amazingly talented Crystyle Bukowski of Pudge who is going through a rough financial period in her life, the offerings from her friends with proceeds going to Crystyle are fabulous, I urge you all to go check them out. I threw on some wooden and gold accessories, starting with this great Loveletter Locket from (Yummy), scripted to flip open and reveal the lovers in question, you have to get it to see how special it is. Freebie earring from *::UM::* add a little sparkle too. *Fishy Strawberry* has arm fulls of Stacked Wood Bangles, maybe my arms are too short for the left arm stack, but the one for the right arm worked out just fine. (Caroline's) Natural Gold Bead Ring with it's wooden band bring in both the golden and wooden elements I was working with.



Who has heard of The Alice Project Hair? Not me until the Hair Fair, but this Shizuka II style had my name all over it. I love bangs and pony tails, that combination of sexy and cute. The textures are nice and I am anxious to go see what other wigs they offer. Skin by Canimal, and Bedroom Lashes from Cake give a soft sweet look to Glassy Mustard Green Eyes from Freak Fantasia. OK Kids, time to get my slef Moose-y-ing back to bed.

Red Foxy

Oh how I love to discover "New to Me" designers. I had never heard of *Fishy Strawberry* before this week, but how could you forget a name like that? Although it is not the palatable of names, the offerings at *Fishy Strawberry* are a delight. I first nabbed this great pair of Gold Jeans, which come will full length and the Capri versions I am wearing, and several cuff options, including a sculpted version. The next bit of yumminess I purchased was this great Minihood Jacket, with sculptie arms and hood. The colour selections are out of this world, the shop is adorable and then some, and the clothes are sweet and fun, they even have some men's items in store. Right next door is the new mainstore for *i-Candy*, a shop I have visited and shopped in the past. Some seriously cute items, from the Boom Box Bags (there is one for sale as a Dollarbie in the shop, grab it!), the the high-top chucks, and even some great Harajuku mini-skirts. On this trip to *i-Candy* I picked up this adorable Green Butterfly Ring. I am always on the hunt for big impressive rings, so I was thrilled to but to find this cute little guy to take home with me.



I had been using the same ears and tail for the "Naughty Nekos" events at PIN UPS for a long time, and decided it was time for a change. I headed to *=Hybrid=*, perhaps the best place for a Neko to start, and picked up this adorable Kitsune Starter Set. Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox, and I love the tail and soft velvety looking ears, the set is fully scripted, with more options that I can figure out, but I decided to tint the parts a deep burgundy red, just my personal taste, but you can modify them dozens of ways. I have had this great T-Shirt from PanJen for ages, but it is still a favorite. The slogan "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life from a Broken Heart" is so up my alley, I believe that music can heal, and in our virtual world, the voice of a DJ is sometimes the most real thing about it. The belt is a great combo belt and purse from Cake. The Flexi Utilitarian Belt Bag is unisex, comes in two sizes, and each size had two possible attachment points. I love the little cell phone tucked in the pocket, details like that always make me smile. The shoes are the amazing REDGRAVE Sculpted Sneakers in Red Stripped, wish I had these in RL.



Another great wig from (JUNWAVE), this Spicy stile in this fabulous dark ruby like Red is a great piecey shag cut, I love wearing spiked punky cute hair with a street wear look. Canimal's Essence of Earth skin in the Grace tone this time, how I adore these skins, I am really enjoying them. Miriel really does make some of the most amazing eyes I have seen in-world, these Hazel Eyes are so lovely, the texture in them is like Jewelry, all her eyes are lovely, and worth a loog if you have never been. My favorite [Detour] Love Lashes make me feel very foxy indeed.
