Hair Fair - Ophelia In Exile

Do you ever feel like a Princess living in Exile? For me, it's pretty much an all the time thing. Where is my castle, where is my entourage? Well, at least I can dress like a princess in Second Life, even a mythical princess from the Kingdom of Ketsugo. It's easy peasy with stunning fantasy wear, like that on offer at The Secret Affair, which opens tomorrow. This time there is a Mid-Summer Night's Masquerade theme that I am totally crunching on, and when I got a peek at the super awesome Gacha machine from Luas, I just had to take a spin. The Ophelia skirts are all common items, and come in a lush palette with almost a dozen options, just play for your size and see what color you get. On the first try I got this Emerald tone, and when I opted for a second try, just to see what else I could add to my wardrobe, I managed to luck out and get the RARE Ophelia full armor set, including all the pieces worn on the upper body. How awesome is this set? Very!

I managed to work in the lovely little [MONS] Septum Ring I purchased at Project Limited, which is a limited edition item, which makes me feel pretty exotic. Now back to the Exile, this Stone Cold Seduction style is available now and Exclusively at Hair Fair 2014. It is the perfect style for the Role Play lovers, who also want a style that is hella sexy for everyday. So many events, so few minion to do my bidding - er - shopping. What is a princess to do?

Rhapsody - I Love The Nightlife

While Summer and all it's various accouterments have arrived in Second Life, I think I have managed to shop for enough swimwear to last me a long while. That said, I still have the shopping bug, which is why I am so thrilled that another great Hottie Cooterati Event is on the way, it's time for every music lover's dream event, Rhapsody. Starting tonight at midnight SLT, that's 3am for us party animals on the East Coast, you can visit an amazing sim packed full of every Genre of music and heaps of fashion, decor, and poses to go with each style. Disco, Pop, Rock, Metal, Country, Punk, Jazz, name it, you can find it at Rhapsody. There is so much to work into your wardrobe, you will be singing the praises of this fabulous event for weeks!  

I decided to start off with one of the most deliciously fun looks from the Disco content area, but this adorably sexy .:* LOULOU&CO *:. Donna Dress, isn't limited to a 70s vibe alone. You can wear it to any party and feel sexy as all heck.  I paired it up with the equally awesome Cae Disco Inferno Necklace, also from Rhapsody. This necklace is HUD controlled to change colors of the sweet sparkly little Disco Ball, and the metal chain too. Also pictured are just a few of the items from [CIRCA] that can make your next Disco Bash a complete success, including the glowing "Disco Era" Dance Floor and the "Disco Tech" Dance Party Art Panel in the background. Runway Rules

It is a well known fact and frequent source of jokes among my friends, I can't walk a straight line on an empty lag free SIM if I tried, thus my dream of walking the SL Runways was crushed. But with this great new Pose Fair 2014 exclusive set from .[posi+ivity]. called Runway, I can fake it and look like a pro.



This dress is perfect for a stroll down the runway, or anywhere else for that matter. I am always pleasantly surprised with the fabulous items coming from =Zenith=, a quirky shop with heaps of creative looks.  This was at a previous version of FaMESHed, and it was time to show it off. 



Speaking of showing off, I am quickly becoming a total shoe whore, and the 21Shoe Event is stoking my passion. Once a month, a group of talented shoe creators make special exclusive versions of some brilliant footwear, and after the 24 hour period is up, the shoes are never sold again. If you want rare finds, and 2 pairs for the price of one, then keep your eyes on the calendar, because it only happens on the 21st of the month. Party Girl

It's one of my favorite movies of all time, 1995's Party Girl starring Parker Posey the all-time it girl of independent film. Parker Posey plays a savvy and sassy party girl, with a wardrobe to die for, and a great collection of fantastic friends, but she needs to get real and get a job in order to keep a roof over her head. If you have never seen it, you are missing out on one of the best fashion mash-up wardrobes I have seen on the silver screen, all set against a gritty New York backdrop. This Dagmar dress from ~~Ivalde~~ Couture, paired with a messy wig and heavily lined eyes, made me feel every bit the "Party Girl", arriving home after a heavy night of partying. Neferia Abel used sculpted roses on the bodice and gloves, and the skirt has a really great transparent sculpted layer that gives it the look of organza. I love the juxtaposition of a glam cocktail dress and gloves with the mussed up-do wig, Pamela, from Exile. It has that night after the party look, as does the PXL Creations skin with the fabulously dark and smudged lined eyes. The eyes look more dramatic with Cake's Separated Lashes over Freak Fantasia Glassy Mustard Green Eyes.



I decided to work the amazing copper brown colour of the dress with a delicious hit of Mint in the form of (CREAMSHOP) Plain Tights. I love wearing coloured tights, and the soft mint makes the great (Shiny Things) Tuli Pumps really stand out. They are a perfect match to the dress, and I couldn't have planned it better. I opted for some big uncut Turquoise baubles from Swallowtail, including the great Uncut Gems Necklace and the Natural Stone Earrings. I really like the raw look of the gems next to the polished glamor of the dress. I picked up another great Paper Couture bag, this time opting for the almost casual carry-all look of The Tasty Bag in Bleu. Also wearing my Caroline's Jewelry Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring.

The Modest Silks

Silks are a tricky business. There are lots of fabulous silks out there, every colour imaginable, some scripted, some adorned, and some purely prim creations. But the most common feature is that they are very baring. When we have "Saturday Silks" events on occasion at PIN UPS, I always try to wear new silks, but I am not personally comfortable revealing to much skin, call me silly, I know it's just my avatar, but I am a modest person, and it just isn't my thing, it's on of the reasons I don't blog very much lingerie, which I own in truck-loads, for me personally, that is private. In any case, one of the best solutions for a modest yet sexy silks look, is this great set of Red India Silks from *Solange*. By no means inexpensive, the silks from *Solange*, sometimes labeled The Silk Raven (TSR), are worth the price for all the amazing extras they include, jewelry, multiple layer options, long or short prim silk skirts, and different sheerness layers. The colour selection is perhaps the most difficult decision you will have to make, which includes metal accent options, as the selection is extensive. *Solange* also offers other items, some really sexy dresses, and the men's silks are incredibly well made too. This India set comes with this great modest tied system skirt, I love the dangling coin texture cutouts. The singlet on the forehead is low prim, being more of an alpha texture image, but still really lovely. You can also purchase an optional add-on pack with additional traditional prim scarf skirt options.



I never wear shoes with silks, it just doesn't look right to me, so I opted for bare feet here, and went heavy on the accessories. I started with some bangles, these stacks were an in-store gift at Zaara Indian Couture, and I believe they are still available. I wore the orange set, then modified them, selecting all the orange bracelets and tinted then a dark red to match the silks. I rarely wear belly charms, but decided my exposed tummy needed a little something-something, and went with a simple ruby dangle bead from All That Glitters, there doesn't seem to be an in world location that I can find however, so I have no idea how long i have had it. Going with the ethnic themed accessories, I brought in this fabulous pair of earrings from {JUNK}, the Crescent Moon Chandelier Earrings have great intricately curved prims filling out the crescent moon shape. I also pulled in the Gold Florina Ring from (Shiny Things), I love the hammered look of the metal, the center pearl, details that would escape most unless you took a really close up look, but it is precisely the details that take my breath away. It may be a world of pixels and prims, but the talent of some creators, their efforts to bring touches of reality to our cartoon world, is astounding.



This amazing Wild Orchid hair from EXILE is completely stunning, I love attending Expo shows for this reason above all, the discovery of as yet unknown (to me) content creators. This hair is a wonderful tousled updo, with great pieces falling over the forehead and to the side, but the best part is the exceptional sculpted orchid that is scripted to touch, you can select the colour of orchid to match your look, and as with all modifiable hair, you can even remove the orchid if you wish (as my sister Anessa did). Skin is Celestial Studios Charmed Line, the smokey eyed Red-Dusk make-up adds some drama. Love lashes are from [Detour], and Hazel Eyes from Karamia. Altogether a sexy look, and the best way to go if you want to wear silks and keep a little bit left up to the imagination.
