IT'S PHOTO CONTEST TIME!



You keep telling us how much you Love RETROLOGY, now it's time to show us! Our first Anniversary is less than a month away and to celebrate we want to see just what you love about Retrology. And what better way than to share your amazing, funny and inspired photos!

Entries Must be submitted via the Retrology Photo Contest Flickr Group. There Are Over 200 Members in the Flickr Group At This Time, So Join Today!

Entries will be accepted between Sunday July 13th/08 @ 00:01AM SLT and Sunday July 27th/08 @ 00:01AM SLT.

A Maximum of 10 Entries will be accepted per Avatar/Flickr Account. Photos must fit into any or all of the following 3 judging categories;
People, Places and Fashion. The first 2 categories are fairly self explanatory... the Fashion Category must feature clothing/hair/accessories etc. available from the Shops/Vendors on the Sim. (Outfits may include non-Retrology items, but Items found on the sim will be the focus of the judges - all entries in this category must list the items they are wearing in the flickr image description.)

We will be selecting the best entries and displaying them in a gallery in 'Lovers Walk Park'. Winning Photos will be announced August 3rd, the date of our First Anniversary.

There will be a total of 10 prizes awarded. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the Categories (receiving amounts of $ 3000 L, $ 2000 L, and $ 1000 L respectively) and an overall Grand Prize Photo that will receive $ 10 000 L!!!! In addition we will be releasing details of additional gifts and prizes from our amazing Retrology Vendors as that information becomes available.

CONTEST RULES

1) You must be creator of the image to have the right to submit it to this competition.
2) Maximum of 10 photos per person. You may remove and replace images up to and until the deadline.

Riddle Me This...

On a recent trip to the Starlust Motel, I stumbles for the first time into Dog Town, I have no idea why I had never been before, but I was so happy to have found it. I particularly love finding new stores, new to me in any case. When I found **[Riddle]**, I was ecstatic. I love rock girl clothes, stuff that I can wear when I DJ, stuff I would happily wear in RL, and this store had that and more in Spades! It started with this great Plaid Shorts and Bikini Top set in Grey, so cute, with a real Gwen Stefani Badass feel to it. I was also drawn to this adorable red Guitars T-Shirt, since my man plays the Guitar, it made it an easy choice. If you have never been to **[Riddle]**, you must go, they have some seriously adorable stuff, a lot with Rock or Retro Sensibilities, and so much fun.

I always take every opportunity to wear my absolute favorite casual shoes, these great EnvYou Strapped Chucks, I have then in every colour they come in, about 8, and I love wearing them. The heel makes them girly and a bit sexy, but they also look like the practical Chucks that everyone loves. I wanted to wear some accessories with a lot of fun factor, and one that I have had for a while is this -[Kalico Kreations]- Cute Kitty Wallet, with adorable Flexi Dollar Bills in it. I also love this Rockabilly Cigar Box Purse from Caroline's, love that is contains the most impractical items ever, and kitsch is the clincher for me. I am also wearing some adorable Cassette Tape Earrings from Electric Jane's, a shop with lots of fun do-dads and wearables. The stacks of Jelly Bracelets are from Overdose & Punk by Proxy, and they are just the perfect casual accessory for this look.



This great short style is new from *Muism*, Mika is a sweet shaggy bob, really cute. This skin is a new favorite from Quelita Soon or *QS*, the Milk Skin in Dark 001, a lovely red lip and highlighted eye. Eyes are the expressive Miriel Hazel Eyes, with Photoshoot Lashes from MMS.

Midnight Blue Sexy

This look may just be the sexiest one I have ever put together. It all started with a "Best in Boots" event at PIN UPS, I love wearing boots with mini-dresses, so I dove into my "New Dresses" Folder (about 200 deep), and found this sexy silky ultra-mini Blue Dress from a little treasure called In The Light. I remember Anessa taking me there after we cleared out ::Bijou:: and Mirai, both on the same SIM as In The Light. This dress is sleek, sexy, and I love that the tiered layers are only on the front of the dress, so it adds interesting detail without making you look like a walking cupcake. The satin texture is really lovely. I pulled on my big time favorite sexy boots from Maitreya, the Dune Boot is so great, I suggest you get a pair in at least one of the colour that Onyx LeShelle offers them in, all wonderful. I thought my legs needed a little extra Va Va Va Voom, so I pulled on a pair of Over The Knee Fishnets from Celestial Studios LuLu. These stockings are awesome for their sheer range of colours and styles, all in 3 packs by colour, so much to choose from.

I went with a golden touch for accessories, starting with this absolutely stunning Marguerite Peacock Feather Necklace from ~Muse~. It is magnificent really, and has just the right number of sprayed gems over the feather, with so many lovely colours. I was thrilled to get a chance to wear these amazing bracelets from *PERSONA*, part of Myllie Writer's new Mighty Heart Collection. They are so amazingly real looking, the details are immaculate. I bought the fat pack of this set, and was incredibly tempted to buy the Silver and Red Gold sets as well. I continued with the natural gold accents with the Paper Couture Diamond Bee Ring, one of my all-time favorites. The Gold Shined Clutch is another great bag I picked up at *Muism*.



Perhaps the sexiest hair I have ever worn, and that is saying a lot with over 500 Styles in inventory, this amazing .+*Nacy*+. style from Mirai has volume, and a whole sex kitten vibe going on. It looks like a mussy out of bed style with it's great individual hair strand textures on the top layer. The skin is the Golden Oro Make-Up from bianca F., with it's sexy pale yet glossy lip. Lashes are Cake's amazing Separated Lashes, with Splatter Eyes from Big Booty Big Money's Watery Mud Eyes Collection.

The Missing Difference

Sometimes in Phil's Place, we forget to root for the little guy. The big mega-brands get a whole lot of attention, they can afford to send review copies to everyone, they have customer service reps who handle the day to day, and the money just rolls on in. Unfortunately, little shops, no matter how brilliant they are, face an uphill battle, particularly if their creators cannot spend full-time working on new product to feed our massive hunger for newness. D!FF=> was one of those little guys, and unfortunately, they closed up shop a few months ago. It is a shame, they had some really lovely items, and I have many of their things. The question is, do we blog items from sellers that are no more? I say yes, we do, because it serves to remind us all that we need to support small business in-world, as well as the big guys (& gals). The adorable Isometric Dress was one of my last purchases from D!FF=>, I love it's simple summer style, the lovely print and colour combination, and the fact that I didn't have to shell out brand name bucks for it.

I went for dark almost bronze gold accessories, inspired particularly by Violet Voltaire's brilliant No Love Lost Set in Bronze. Violet is a "Wizard of Primery" (I made that up, but it's true), I love her little cogs, bows, and other unique details that make her work so interesting and desirable. That and she doesn't charge insane prices for her stuff. I pulled in a freebie from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, this from the Velvet SIM Launch, a sweet candy coloured Gold Charm Bracelet. I think these are still available, along with matching earring on velvet, but on Retrology they have the same set in pretty pinks and baby blue. The bag is new from [Armidi Gisaci], the Focsani Bag in 24K Gold could carry a lot of my fashionista must haves. I pulled in a great Purple Showtime Shoe from (Next Step), a really fun fussy Stiletto Pump.



This hair was a freebie I nabbed at the opening of [The oBscene], they have some great skins too, but I really love this Ceres Style in Black. This is my favorite skin from bianca F., the Bloom make-up with it's pinky-purple shadow. Lashes are from [Detour], and it is clear I am seriously addicted to these Love Lashes. Eyes are Freak Fantasia's Glassy Mustard Green Hazel Beauties. Let's not let those Different and Unique places go missing again, remember to blog what you love, not just what everyone else is wearing.

Rockin' The Shockin' Pink!

I love clothes that are a look all on their own, something you can just throw some accessories behind and walk out the door. When the Starlust Motel had their opening, I gleefully shopped in almost every shop on the SIM. When I stumbled into the KUROTSUBAKI room, I was wowed. I hadn't been keeping tabs on their work for a bit, and when I saw this yummy shocking pink Tsunagi jumpsuit, it was an instant YES! Really simple, sexy sexy, and a really great summer look. I love the button detail on the pockets, the nicely finished sleeves, and the prim short legs, all very well textured. Now all I needed was some accessories to make the look my own.

I started with a belt, this *Muism* Double Zip Belt ads a lot of interest, and the flexi parts that extent past the waist are really interesting. I picked up this mega-customizable bag from Kimberly Casanova, the Girlfriend Bag in Zebra is scripted 9 ways, so you can select the colour of just about every part of the bag, there are thousands of possible combinations, but I stuck with pink and turquoise mainly. I knew that the perfect shoe for this look was the adorable Stiletto Moody Bitch Bootie in Pucci Pace Print. You can seriously match these shoes with dozens of outfits, the colours in them are really lovely. I was thrilled to finally pull on this adorable necklace from ::69::, who doesn't love the Love Necklace? Really nice use of Sculpties here. I also opted for this cute ::69:: Sprinkles Bracelet for a cute touch, it is a Freebie item, I believe still available in-store.



I wanted a wig with volume, so I went into my Mirai folder and pulled out this awesome huge .+*Luci*+. style in White. I can always count on Mirai for some serious bombshell hair, this one reminds me a lot of Brigitte Bardot. The skin is another new one from bianca F., a treat for me since I love green so very much, this Fata 2 Forest Make-Up really adds a nice dash of colour. Catwalk Lashes are from MMS, and these great deep luminous Splatter eyes are from Big Booty Big Money, which I believe is no longer in it's former ENVY location, but I have a hunch will turn up again soon. *wink*
