Last Call For The Office Party

Recently, we had a "Sexy Office Party" at PIN UPS, and I always wear a skirt suit to this event, however with skirt glitches still plaguing us all, I opted for a pant suit. Sadly, this one is no longer available as *LAST CALL is no more, but it is still a brilliant example of Ginny Talamasca's work and I love it dearly. You may be able to find this Kerry Pantsuit in Re-Sale Shops, as the final days at Last Call saw people snapping up tons of inventory, all of it Transferable, so if you happen to come upon a great Re-Sale shop, look for the *LAST CALL Items, they are treasures. This look came complete with the lovely Cameo Necklace, so pretty and just the perfect compliment to the look. Classy and Ladylike, and still very sexy, this is Business Wear that Goes into an Evening Look seamlessly.

This look was a breeze to accessories, you can't go to the office without your brief case and Baiastice sells a pile of great bags, this Borso Lavoro Workbag comes in a set of two great colours. The simple thin Layered Bangles are from OPIUM Everyday, I love that they have pink, white, and yellow gold in them so they can be worn with almost any other jewelry. I am wearing my Drifting Sands Tunnel Multi-Set Earrings, just to add a little edge to my look, and my Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring from Caroline's.



This wig is another great new style from Dernier Cri. Kaitlyn is a great loose bun, placed to the side, and the shaggy bangs are a nice touch to soften the look. The hair from Dernier Cri is always a blast to Demo, as the Colour Changing HUD is so fun, you get to see the style in dozens of possible shades before you settle on the one you want and decide if the style is for you. Skin is from [RockBerry], I am really finding myself wearing them almost exclusively, despite the fact that this Light skintone is darker then any skin I have ever worn. Cake's Separated Lashes flutter above [Detour]'s Delta Eyes in Hazel.

Where Are My Eyes?

Who knew you could not wear eyes? Not me that's for sure! I was in a rush after a shoot with Nyla Rossini for my Vain Inc. Magazine Staff Picture, and removed all the items in the outfit folder I made for the occasion (a trick Anessa taught me). I quickly threw on what I had been wearing before, and jumped into my wee studio for some shots before changing into my costume for the night's Event at PIN UPS. I didn't notice till I was writing down what I was wearing, that I was infact not wearing eyes, and a jump into Edit>Appearance confirmed that they were "Not Worn", who knew? Won't make that mistake again. In any case, I am apparently wearing someone's eyes, if not my own, they belong to David Bowie on the fabulous Bowie Dress from EMERY. I always love a rock chick look, and EMERY has some of the best to be found on the grid. I paired the top with some slick looking Shiny Shiny Magic Pants from Fashionably Dead, they are tintable, but I kept them as is for the awesome liquid silver look.

I opted for red accessories for the most part, starting with these brilliant Red Glamour Metallic Pumps from [Detour], I do love a pointy toed pump! I also pulled in one of my Celestial Studios Hobo Bags, this one in Patent Cherry was a group gift back around Valentines, but I do believe you can pick one up at the shop too. To compliment the rocker look, I have this great Micci Set on from /artilleri/, I really love it, the tiny microphone Necklace and Earrings are so sweet, and I marvel at how Antie managed to get them so small and texture them so well. I pulled on this great chunky Mod Love Ring from Kandy Kitty, and stacks of Black Jelly Bracelets from Overdose/Punk by Proxy.



Hair is another great style from *booN, the UZU22 in Black is really a nice funky little casual style, I think it works really well here. Another great [RockBerry] Skin, and I can't stress enough that you must go and try them. They may not work on everyone's shape, but for only $800LaLas, you get six skins/make-ups and that is a real steal, these skins are simply fabulous and growing on me more everyday. Lashes are from Cake, the Separated Lashes really give some oomph to the eyes, especially since I am not wearing any!

Pretty Pastels And Petals

Whenever I stop by [MG Fashion] to see what's new, I have one huge problem. I am spoiled for choice. OK, maybe not a huge problem, but Maria Gherardi always offers us so many colour variations, that it makes it very hard to choose just one. This sweet Light Purple Gigi Tank Top is no exception, coming in about a dozen soft pretty shades. It is really nicely hand-painted, the shading is well done, just a lovely little summer top. When my sister Anessa sent me a teleport to *Beauty Avatar* the first time, I zeroed in on this soft green pair of PINGU-18 Jeans. I always gravitate to green, but this colour in particular is really soft and fresh. Similar to [MG Fashion], *Beauty Avatar* offers these sweet slacks in a dozen or more awesome colours. I love to be spoiled for choice!

At the recent Footwear Expo, I snapped up this sweet pair of Athena Sandals in Green from *HUB*. A nice low heeled summer sandal with a really interesting crisscrossed strap. I went with a white bag to work with the white in the system belt on the jeans, The Blossom Bag from Paper Couture is a fresh and feminine bag. I have had this amazing Petal Meg Hydrangea Petal Necklace for almost a year, and I love wearing it. Fuscia Jewell brings her real-world flower petal creations in-world, and they are unlike anything else I have seen. They have that missing organic piece that we all long for in second life. This Cosmetic Chain Bracelet is from ::MEZZO::, and after seeing it on the feed last week, I went off in search of it. It is an adorable charm bracelet with little cosmetics, mirrors, and make-up bags dangling from the chain. It comes in several metal options and sizes for both wrists in one box for practically peanuts in the LaLa department. I have to warn you though, ::MEZZO:: is a jewelry lovers dream, so much great stuff to grab up, I assure you you will see the half a dozen items I bought on my trip very soon.



This hair is the edgy but sweet Again from Magika Hair. I love that it looks like a rough shag from the front, yet has the long braid in the back too. The skin is [RockBerry] Stage 4 with Dark Brows, I am seriously crushing on these skins. Love Lashes are from [Detour], Hazel Eyes from (Miriel). A pretty and feminine look with little bit of edge.

Unique Belle

While I am up to my ankles in Retrology Anniversary Event related blogging and work, I didn't want to let things slide on my own blog. I have loved this dress from *Alchemy* since the moment I set eyes on it. Constanza Volare has a talent for making lovely dresses, and this Unique Dress truly lives up to it's name. I love the Zebra print top, and the bright Green sash at the waist, very on trend yet this dress has a real retro feel to it. My favorite part of all is the delicate dotted lace at the hem of the full tulle like skirt. Really a fun flirty little frock, and it comes in several sash colour variations.

I was thrilled to be able to finally find a reason to wear my new Belle Shoes from (Shiny Things). I picked up this yummy Acid pair at the Footwear Expo last week, and love the granny apple green colour so much. The purse was a no brainer for this look, pulling in another great bag from Paper Couture, the Le Sac in Zebra print is the perfect compliment to the dress. I went for some chunky jewelry here, and decided to go with a matched set from Zaara Indian Couture. The Kaya Onyx Set, which I bought in Fatpack,comes with Gold and Silver versions of Necklace, Earrings, and Bracelets. I rarely wear an entire set of Jewelry as is, but this set is really nice together, and I love that it had an almost "Wilma Flintstone" feel with this big bauble necklace next to the animal print. Gimcrack Diamond Ring is from Caroline's.



From the moment I popped this awesome wig on my head, I have received dozens of inquiries as to where I got it. I saw it on the feeds a few times, and finally decided to head over to *booN this week to get a look for myself. I ended up with four styles, but this UPP18 is by far my fave of the bunch. I did mod the front a bit, tacking on two extra bang pieces just for my own preference, but it looked fine as it was too. Skin is Canimal, the Essence of Poison is a favorite, I really love the shading on the cheeks that give it such a unique look. Miriel's Big Hazel Eyes complete the look, as I forgot to put on lashes. Together, it is a unique and beautiful look.

Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner!

OK, I will admit it if you will admit it, we all love Dirty Dancing. How many times have we watched Baby carry a watermelon, Penny cry in hotel kitchen, the creepy nephew of the hotel owner try to get his hands on Baby, or Johnny and Baby practicing the lift in the lake. And yes, we all get chills when Johnny walks up to the table and says, "Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner!". And then... They do the Lift! This new ~~Ivalde~~ Hulda Outfit in Red reminds me of one of the outfits that Baby wore in the movie The cute little shorts with the flower applique on the pockets, the peasant like tunic that flows around the body, very summer in the Poconos circa 1958. Neferia Abel uses sculptie parts so well, and this outfit is no exception. It comes in several sweet colour combinations, but I loved this version with the red shorts particularly.

I was sent a review pack of Jewelry from Bliensen + MaiTail, and it included this absolutely brilliant Skulls ‘n Flowers Necklace and Bracelet Set. I love when Jewelry look sweet and girly from far away, but when you look close it has a little something much more sinister going on, the combination of pearls and flowers, and the tiny skulls just works. Can't wait to show you more of the Bliensen + MaiTail collection. I pulled on one of the ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangles in Silver on the other arm, and set the gem colour to Ruby. The shoes are a sweet pair of Periquita SueShoo Sandals in White that I picked up at the Footwear Expo this week, really cute and I love the sexy heel. Also wearing the Drifting Sands Tunnel Multi Set Earrings, really a great mixed set of piercings. Gimcrack Ring by Caroline's.



This hair is NEW TO ME *Shop Seu* Pompadour Hair, really so realistic looking with it loose wave pony tail and the lifted back-combed section on top. But what really makes it amazing is that it is textured to look like pulled back strands on either side of the face and just a hint of parted hair on either side of the lifted section. Really looks so real, and required only a little position adjustment. Skin is Canimal's Essence of Pinup Make-up. Lashes are Cake's Bedroom Lashes, and Eyes are favorites from Miriel.

Some Bunny To Love...

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I have ever seen a Tiny Avatar appear on the Fashion Planet Feed, at least not since I have been aware of it. I have seen fairies, elves, animal-morphs, Nekos, and all sorts of interesting costumes, but the Tiny Community seems incredibly absent. Maybe it's because they are not terrible fashionable, I have to admit this is the only time I alter my shape, and the shape under the avatar is frankly disturbing. But the skill and talent involved in making these darling little creatures is worth a mention.



We recently had a "Tiny Wonders" Event at PIN UPS, and out came the little folk. We have a Tiny Dance Ball for these events and for any wee folk that visit, and it is essential (not pretty using a regular dance ball with a crunched skinny shape). I love this sweet Tiny Brown Bunny AV by Wynx Whiplash, that is available in world in a number of Wynx's Whimsical Wonders locations, as well as OnRez. It is just darling, and so well textured. I particularly love the eyes, they are just so large and glassy, and really make you get all mushy. The large head and eyes evoke the same sort of protective instinct we all have for infants and puppies, kittens, and other baby animals.



Although the idea of accessorizing a bunny makes me kind of uncomfortable, I do think that the number of people making tiny fashions do it with love, and care, and really do so well considering it is entirely prim based clothing. Etheria Parrott of Tiny Inc does a fantastic job in this respect, as with this Foxglove Thora Tiny Outfit. The outfit comes with the dress, little flexi bows for the ears, and the shoes. Just pure fun, and there is so much to be had in Tiny Clothing, it is almost shocking to think there is a whole world most of us are largely unaware of. This includes tiny homes, furniture, poses and dances, and accessories. If you want to have a good laugh with friends one night, pick up a Tiny Avatar and head to one of the Shire Sims to explore, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

SUCH A POSER!

I have been a bad blogger, bad! I have been blogging for months on end and have yet to credit the talented individuals that make the poses I use day after day. This has not been intentional, but rather the result of the fact that I own over 750 poses in my stand from pretty much everyone in the Pose Business. I love them all for different reasons, but when doing shots for my blog, I rarely keep track of who makes each pose as I flip through looking for ones that show off the outfit I am wearing to it's best advantage. I use Tillie Ariantho's Posing Stand, it holds all my poses, is copy so I have a travel version too, 1 Prim, and a super easy HUD makes is all a breeze. It really is worth every LaLa. As for my studio, it consistes of 3 Single Flat Prim Walls and a Floor, set to full bright that I tint to work with whatever I am wearing. I also made a big lightsource orb that is a few meters in front of the box. I adjust the sun settings to get the best lighting. That's it, super cheap, but it works for me.

Sweet AnnaH Elizabeth

Yesterday, Annah Whitfield of *AnnaH* dropped a few of her latest releases on me. I was getting myself sorted for the day, so I decided to pop into the Elizabeth Dress. (Putting my outfits together takes at least 20 minutes most days... how sad am I?) I am so glad I did, it is a seriously sweet babydoll dress, I love that it is a little Black dress and then some, with the hint of a red crinoline underneath, and an adorable rose applique on the bodice, which looks like layers of satin and tulle all swirled together. Annah's latest releases are brilliantly retro, crackling with classic lines and old Hollywood glamour, but I decided to show you why you can take any piece from the collection and make it modern, it is all a matter of how you build the look.

On Monday, I swung by iTUTU before the freebies disappeared, and snagged this men's hairstyle from Find Ash. I wasn't sure how it would look, but I love a choppy shag cut, and short is so sexy with a girly dress, I decided to give it a test run. I loved it, and today found that the freebie is indeed still available in the Find Ash main store, go grab it! I was already wearing this Infrared Skin from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, and decided to leave it on because I loved the way the red shadow on the eyes looks peeking out from the deep black shaggy bangs. This make-up sets of the amazing Hazel Eyes from Miriel so well, and I went with a sweet pair of lashes from Celestial Studios too.



Accessories came fast and furious for me with this look, because I always wear a necklace with a strapless dress. This -EARTHTONES- Conessa Scarlet and Black Lustre de Fleurs set is lovely, and I really like the size of the pendant. I choose to wear different bracelets, with the *UnTone* Black Heart Bracelet on the right wrist, and one of the [Woo's] Flower Luvvins Bracelet. I was able to find a current location for [Woo's], but I am not sure if this set is available there as it was a gift from the Calla Anniversary Celebrations. These sweet shoes from =DeLa*=, Mike Love Heart Pumps are from one of the recent Expos, but I can't recall if it was a RFL Event or the Footwear Expo which is still in full swing. I love the line of tiny black hearts dotted over the strap, they are a perfect match for this dress. The Wrist Chain Clutch in Red is a treasure from *Muism*, I seriously love their handbags. A sweet pulled together look made easy with a great little black dress from *AnnaH*.

There are a very few places on the grid that put great separates together to give you one brilliant look that you want to wear as is. I buy a lot of combo looks, but usually pull them apart and mix them up, or I buy things separately and put my own spin on them. The one place that always seems to hit the mark for me is amerie's Naughty. I hadn't been in ages, and decided to check it out last week on a whim. I am so glad I did! This amazing Plastic Punker outfit is precisely the sort of look I find irresistible. It is funky, unique, and so cool. I love the jacket, it is simple amazing, with the feathered fur looking sleeves and tail, and the open front. It could work with a number of other looks too, but I liked the stripped tank that came with it, and it is really interesting with the red smeared hand print looking tattoo. The plaid shorts are punky and I love the laced detail on the one side. amerie's Naughty always combines system layers and prim work so well. The outfit came with a leg warmer too, but I opted not to wear them, simply because I prefer fishnets with a rocker look. These are some of the great Over The Knee Fishnets from Celestial Studios Lulu line. The Grays pack comes with three pair, including the Black I am wearing. Lulu is a great place to go if you are looking for coloured items, since the store is arranged by colour family and the socks all come in three packs of fabulous.

I wanted to pile on some chunky showy accessories, and pulled in this [Armidi Gisaci] Niama Necklace is this blackened Gunmetal tone. I love these (CREAMSHOP) Skull Rhinestone Earrings, they are a little bit Rock N' Roll a little bit pirate, and a lot a bit cute. I am also wearing the KaNdy Kitty Mod Love Ring, which is super sweet and really huge. I am always on the look for great big right handed rings, so if anyone has any hot shop tips, hit me up. The boots are the hunky Chunky Ribbon Boots from (Shiny Things), a great investment with the Colour Change Ribbons that you can tint with the click of a mouse on the Hud, there are dozens of colour choices, and you can tint each boot separately if you wish.



The Dare wig was one I picked up a few releases back from Diversity Hair, it's a great combinations of height, curls, and really worked well with this Rockstar look I have going. Skin is another great one from [RockBerry], I am loving these Stage 4 Skins, I can't believe how great they are priced. Worth a look for sure, I mean, where else can you get 6 make-ups for $800LaLas! The [RockBerry] Skins are also available OnRez. Lases are the schmexy Flamenco Trash Purple Essence Lashes from Canimal, Eyes are from Miriel.

The Money Shot

Weeks ago, while skimming the feed I noticed that Evelyn Edelman of Big Booty Big Money (BBBM) was closing her shop on Envy and headed for parts unknown. At the time I was busily planning the Sidewalk Sale on Retrology, knowing that soon after that I was going to be moving my own attempt at fashion (Hang The DJ!) into the Obscure Finds Flea Market on the next block. I just didn't have the time to produce anything, and my skills are lacking. It occurred to me then that I didn't want BBBM disappearing the way so many of my other favorites had. Evelyn has a talent for incredible Party Dresses and Innovative Designs, and her talent for colour combinations is outstanding. Many of her styles have a Retro Flair. I sent Evelyn a note card, letting her know I was giving up my shop, and if she was considering opening up again, I would be overjoyed to have her put up a shingle on Retrology.

When Evelyn responded, I was seriously surprised and overjoyed. She told me she was working on revamping her signs and vendors, and would be a little while, but that she was interested. This week, Evelyn (in a Sheriff's Costume & Handlebar Mustache) Swaggered on into the Shop and started to set-up. Her first items on the rack was the *NEW* amazing The Epilogue Dress, in 7 unique and lovely versions. I am particularly smitten with the Plumeggs version. Here they are, they sell for $195LaLas and include a custom pose in the folder too, but if you act fast, you can snag the Grass version by Joining the Big Booty, Big Money Wants You! Group in-world. But hurry, it will only be available while the notice is in the history. Off The Shoulder, Off The Cuff

Last time I seriously shopped :Bijou:, I wandered around a bit and came upon a shop called Mirrors* next door, and of course Mirai Hair. The whole sim is really a unique shopping experience, and seems to be very different from what is going on trend-wise on the rest of the grid. The Hair is bigger and more street, the fashion fierce and playful, and the colours bright. When I saw this Off The Shoulder Top from Mirrors*, I went right for the Green, as I usually do. I really liked the casual look of this top/mini-dress and especially the sexy exposed back with the system gold chain across it. I loved that it came with the looped belt, and that there were several versions of the top (with or without the black trim) in the pack. The thing that really is adorable about it, is the saying across the front, which is something along the lines of "All Men Are Brothers Like The Seas Throughout the World, So Why Do Winds And Waves Clash so Fiercely Everywhere?". Not sure I get it, but it interesting anyways.

I decided to pull in some adorable Dotted Leggings from Surf Couture by Emma Gilmour, just a fun staple to have, and I like that it is in the same colour family, but not an exact match. It gave me a reason to pull in these awesome ETD Starley Pumps in Funky Teal, I love that these shoes are a great casual pump with some glitz, they just work. I went with some gold accessories to match the golden belt that came with the top, and opted for this great .+*aya V.*+. Gold Bracelet, which I edited by selecting linked parts, and simply tinted the white part of the one large bangle to teal. I also pulled in this amazing sculptie necklace from ::69::, this chunky Luv Necklace in Gold really has a cool street diva feel to it. Also wearing my Caroline's Jewelry Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring.



This hair has been with me for some time, I think I may have picked it up in a fatpack for next to nothing at the opening of the Starlust Hotel, I love my Hiccup Poses, but this Electric Feel Hair with Hat is really cool and relaxed. I really like the texture in the hat. The skin is another great one from the new [RockBerry] Stage 4 line, I am really liking these skins, and although this is the lightest skin tone (I usually go for a much paler look) I like the look enough to wear it darker then I might usually. Love Lashes are [Detour], and eyes are my favorite Gem like Miriel Big Hazel Eyes.

M*A*ii*K*I My Day!

When news came of a collaboration between Maitreya creator Onyx LeShelle and DUTCH TOUCH creator Iki Ikarus, most fasionistas were practically foaming at the mouth to get a look, and with good reason. Two incredibly talented content creators producing a line together is the stuff pixelated dreams are made of. When the M*A*ii*K*I line was released, it did not disappoint, but the feeds were flooded with it's brilliance, so I decided to wait to wear my favorite piece. This amazing Strapless Outfit in Patent Green sucked me in as if it were a vacuum, all I saw was mu favorite colour, and I had to have it. What makes it so brilliant is not simply the style, but the execution, the layers are used brilliantly, the skirt comes in a sculpted prim version (I am wearing) and a system layer too. The system skirt glitch still plagues me, so I was thrilled. It is really well made, and it fits the form beautifully, I didn't even have to wear my skirt shape to fit it, and no worrisome breaks when walking. The leggings, also included, use undies or pants layer, and then part of the sock layer to make them deliciously long, and the prim crinkles around the ankle are really a nice detail. Best of all, this perfect sculpted belt in this great Lime Green colour, but the set also includes a Black version. It also comes with a Collar (not worn) and can be worn so many different ways. Worth every LaLa in terms of wear-ability and options. Definitely check out the rest of the great offerings from M*A*ii*K*I, and you will be just as floored by the creative power of this dynamic duo.

I went with simple accessories here, a pair of Gem Jelly Donut Bangles from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ that I script touched to match with Peridot Stones and a Black Base. A nicely textured sculpted Velour Clutch from Muism works well here, and a chunky set of Bubblegum Pearls from Decollage that are tinted to match the belt balances out the look a bit. I pulled on a pair of Tesla's Leather Stiletto Vixens in a Classic Green colour. I am also sporting my engagement ring, the Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring from Caroline's Jewelry, which I love to wear, especially since tomorrow marks 17 months with my partner Draco.



*TRUTH* released some new hair this week, and this Phoenix style was a have to have for me, it is really cute, and has a scripted bow with several colour options, in this case I could not have hand tinted a more perfect green for this look. The skin is my all-time ME skin, from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, it is called Earth 4, and I love the green shadow and the neutral lip. Separated Lashes are from Cake, and Big Hazel Eyes are from Miriel.

Rockin' The Zebra

Today, Neferia Abel is Celebrating Her Birthday, and when Nef celebrates, she usually does it with a Sale. Today is no exception, Nef has reduced one each Release down by 50%, I don't know which particular colours, but I do know it is time to shop! On my last trip to the fabulous new ~~Ivalde~~ Store, I picked up this great Ingridr Dress in Zebra. I love the way Nef is using sculpties for her poofy dresses, they are really adorable, and in this case sexy too. This has to be one of my favorite party dresses from ~~Ivalde~~, and I love the Zebra print, makes it all the more wild, but it also comes in 4 solid colours too. The one shoulder dress is really on trend right now. Nef also released a line of system belts last week, and I decided to wear one with this dress to add a little more pizazz. The ~~Ivalde~~ Efoy Belt in Gold is a nice touch of glitz, and it comes in a four pack of colours, so you have tons of options. Make sure you hit ~~Ivalde~~ before the Birthday Sale ends in less then 24 Hours!

I received a review pack of [RockBerry] Skins this week from Heather Beebe, she has sent them to me in the past, and although really nice, they just didn't look enough like me to wear. This Stage 4 Set really got me, I think they look great on me, and look like a cross between my two of my other favorites Celestial Studios and bianca F. What makes these skins really impressive is the price of $800LaLas. That is not the price for one skin, that is for a pack of 6 make-ups! Worth a look if you are a skin addict, or working on a budget. I really love the shape of these lips.



I am thrilled to be wearing the new Maitreya Virtue Heels, currently only available at the Footwear Expo, they are so sexy in the Patent Black, I really hope Onyx LeShelle releases them in more colours after the expo, they are fantastic and such a sexy shape. With the puffy shoulder and the glitz belt, I decided to go easy on the rest of my accessories, choosing an organic pair of Carollin Dangle Earrings from -EARTHTONES-, and these great Texture Change Wooden Bracelets from /artilleri/ that were a treasure from the Retrology Mother's Day Rose Hunt, and I am not sure whether they are available in-store or not. Le Salon will be holding a Treasure Hunt for Three Exclusive Skins and Three Hair Styles in Exclusive Colors. This Hunt may be slightly more challenging than most treasure hunts; Players will have to find and touch three items of each kind in order to receive their prizes. The skin also has tintable eyebrows for a perfect match, and comes with a face light, prim eyelashes and a complimentary shape. Le Salon - Dulce comes in four skin tones, named Cream (a pale, rosy tone), Custard (natural Caucasian color), Cake (a sun kissed, healthy tan), and Caramel (a Latina inspired darker tan). Toga Party Done Sexy

Who doesn't love a Toga Party? Just the thought of one brings scenes from the classic National Lampoon's Animal House to mind, the crazy silly antics of John Belushi and company. I also remember my first Toga Party dance in high school, I was 16, stole a six-pack of my dads beer from the fridge, chugged 2 with some girlfriends, then upon leaving the dance managed to slam my friends toga sheet and her fingers in the car door. Ah, good times! I have had several Toga Party Events at PIN UPS, but I always wore the same clunky costume, cute but not in the least bit sexy. That was until Anessa dragged me to Cupcakes to pick up this adorable One Shoulder Mini Dress when Stiletto Moody was about to release her Gladiator Boots. Anessa & Graci (On Your Toes) got me into a pre-release pair for a photo for their blog, and the look was perfection. This may not specifically be a Toga, but it is close enough, and really a sweet little dress. It also comes in white, silver, and about half a dozen yummy soft pastel colours. I think it cost less then $100LaLas as most of the offerings from Cupcakes do, make sure you visit if you have never been.

What goes better with a Toga then Gladiator Boots, and any opportunity to wear these Stiletto Moody Gladiator Boots is one I am going to exploit. These are the All Colours version, with a touch for menu option and you can select any of the great combinations the boot is offered in. I love this Black with an almost copper/bronze lining. I decided to work with this Bronze colour in my accessories, pulling in *PERSONA*'s amazing Mighty Heart Collection Bracelets and Earrings. I love that there are so many bracelet options in the set, and the they all come for right or left hands, so you can mix them up a bit, here I am wearing the Mix Bangles on my left wrist, and the Bangles on my right. The Mighty Heart Earrings are really lovely too, I love the texturing on the puffed hearts. I am also wearing my Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire by Caroline's Jewelry.



This Divine up-do from Laqroki is a lovely pile of loops and twists, and reminds me of the hair styles worn in the Russell Crowe Gladiator Movie. I did mod this to tack on a second set of bangs though, because of my higher forehead, but it was a fairly easy job to do. This skin is bianca F.'s Drama, which has a really chiseled almost porcelain look to it, very lovely. Separated Lashes are from Cake, and Big Hazel Eyes from Miriel.

Butterfly Fantasies

When Myllie Writer released her Odelia Dress this week, I put it down on my shopping list as one to get. I was thrilled when Myllie sent me all three versions of the *PERSONA* Odelia Dress this week, and as soon as I got it, I threw on this adorable Purples Butterflies Dress. I love a sweet summer dress, and this one is really special because of the delicate lace hem adorned with colourful butterflies. They seemed to flutter around me as I walked about the Footwear Expo this week, and I particularly love this purple version, but the orange and green are just as lovely. The crisscrossed straps on the back of the dress are another sweet detail.

I went light on the accessories, as I was mostly browsing the Expo, so I skipped heavy duty and went for simple and very wearable. Fresh Baked Goods are high up on the wearable list, here I chose to wear one each of the Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangles and the Gem Jelly Donut Bangles in Silver, they are simple to customize by click, and they really can be worn with almost anything. The giant Fantasy Amethist [sic] Ring was a gift from my sister Anessa, from the Bandit Jewelry Shop, and it has a great resizer script as well as (thank goodness) a bling on/off option. I pulled in a simple -EARTHTONES- Triple Layer Necklace, with scripted crystals you can customize to match your look, always a bonus. The shoes are the famous ChiChi Pumps in Black from Maitreya, a purchase I will never regret.



I had been waiting for a sweet dress look to wear this adorable Girl Friend Style from BP*, and though it required some heavy tweaking to get the fit right on my huge melon, it was well worth it. The skin is a soft smoky Purple Sunset from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, really a lovely make-up. I went with a fluttery purple lash from Canimal, the Essence Lash in Purple Flamenco Trash is just another lovely dash of purple. The large almost Anime' Hazel Eyes are from Philotic Energy.

Vanilla Kitty + Honey Bears

Some times, I just wanna be cute. There is so much cuteness out there on the grid that it's an easy look to pull off, and dressing up with dashes of whimsy and kitsch has a certain appeal. This look started with this adorable Rainbow Cardigan from Honey + Kitty, I choose the Oreo Colour because of the Cupcake Design, and I really loved the black and white polka dots. It has prim sleeve parts, with a touch of lace, and two options for the colour of the trim. Really a sweet little sweater, and it does come in about half a dozen delightful colours, all with different designs on the front. I wanted to pair it with some cute and equally relaxed pants, and these =DeLa*= Stacy Capri Jeans with Rolled Prim Cuffs have a really worked in look, the coloured stains make it look like I was rolling down a grassy hill.

Accessories are just as fun, starting with this great Sassy Grandma Necklace from Ki-Squared. Really cute pastel colour beads, and the double strand is really sweet. I also pulled in this adorable Canimal Bear Hug Ring. It makes me laugh to look at it now because a friend of mine thought it was poop, so I call it my Pooh Bear ring. I am also wearing my Red Ruin Lip Ring, and decided to go with a bit more edgy kind of cute, adding my Canimal Henna II Tattoos. Somehow adding some edgier elements cuts the sweetness factor a bit so you don't go into sugar shock. Shoes are the ever fabulous Tesla Diva Heels in Black, and the handbag is from [ICoN], new to me and discovered on a shopping trip to the Juicy Boardwalk last week. The Snakeskin Bag comes in a three pack for different hold points, and it is available is half a dozen yummy colours.



I have seen people wear this awesome Vanilla hair from Creamshop before, but never realized just how great it was. I comes in a pack with 4 options, a plain version, and then accessorized versions, including one with a tiny hat, but I choose the one with the Star Hairpin. I love this Celestial Studios Charmed Skin with the glittery Gold eyeshadow, and I particularly love wearing it with cute looks like this, the glitter is very girly. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake, and Mystical Doll Eyes are from Naughty Designs.

Hang The DJ!

OK, so call me shocked as all heck, but somehow I was voted one of the Top 10 DJs in Vain Inc. Magazine's Contest. As an editor for Vain Inc., doing the Look of The Month, I actually didn't even tell anyone about the contest, because I just thought it was going to look wrong for me to even be part of it. But apparently, my friends, family, and regular listeners felt otherwise, and voted for me without my knowledge. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out I was one of the Top 10. I am incredibly flattered, mostly shocked, and really honoured to be in the company of the others in the Top 10, who are likely much better known then I am. In any case, Anessa offered to update my DJ Picture for me, since it was almost 8 months old, and I think she did a great job.

This outfit is composed of some of my very favorite things, this is exactly what I love to wear when I DJ a non-contest event, because this is how I dress in RL. casual, a little bit of funk, a lot of rock n' roll. I started with my absolute hands down favorite pair of Hell & Back Again Jeans from The Abyss. They are just a beat up and comfy pair, and go perfectly with a great T-Shirt, this one from Pushbutton Industries. The Old Fruit Tees come on all layers, which is one of my favorite things about *PBI*. I love a tucked in Tee, who needs to see tummy all the time? The shoes are some of the first sneakers I ever owner in-world, KK Outfitters makes some really great Lo-Top Kicks in a rainbow of colours, just as great for guys as for the ladies.



The accessories are all rock chick too, starting with this great Pick & Bullet Necklace from Vogart, I love the guitar picks on it. The bag is from *i-Candy*, the Boom Box Bags come in a pack of 2 coloured ones, but last time I was there (last week) they had a black one for just $1LaLa. The Spiked Black Arm Bands from WRONG are great wardrobe staples for me, and I nabbed this great Mod Love Ring from KaNdy Kitty on my last trip to Dogtown. This LuLu Link Belt is also a longtime favorite from Celestial Studios.



This Hair is another great style from Philotic Energy, I love shaggy cuts, and this Kalia one is really wicked. The skin is a new fave from QS Skins, and I am dying for new make-up releases, how great is this funky Disco 003 Skin? Love the Purple/Blue Lip and the Red shadow. The spider like Lashes are from Celestial Studios, the Club 1 Prim Lashes are really sexy and dramatic. Eyes are from BBBM, and I am waiting for news of their re-opening soon.

Warm As Yellow...

*Thimbles* has become one of my favorite shops for fun and quirky fashions, and it has a lot to do with the incandescent energy of it's dynamic creators Apathia Hammerer and Melatonin Hax. I have to admit that before they rented a shop on Retrology, I was unfamiliar with them, it was Anessa that brought *Thimbles* to my attention, and she gets props for that. This Half A World Away dress is one of the newest releases from the gals, and I have to say it is one of their best. The layered tulle like skirt is dreamy, covered in stars and it's brightness combined with a muted almost mustard colour dress makes it really unique. I love the Bow detail on the neck with the black collar, really a smart touch. This colour, Bright as Yellow, is particularly a favorite, because it has the same name as one of my favorite songs by the Innocence Mission. (Check the Lyrics at the end of this Post.)

I was glad to finally have a reason to wear these adorable J's Real Toe Ankle Belt Sandals, they are hella sexy and cute. But seriously, how could you not love prim toes after what seems like an Ice Age in our little virtual world, J's has really got some great summer shoes you need to check out. You can grab em' up at the Footwear Expo now too. I pulled in a trusty Black Bag from Paper Couture, the Rotunda Bag has always been easy to wear with almost any look. Earring are from -EARTHTONES-, the Kamoana Shell Earrings in Yellow and Silver pull in a little shimmer and colour. Big fat Gem Jelly Donut Bangles from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ give a little interest to bare arms, these are so great with the two clicks to customize not only the bangle colour but the gems, I wear them endlessly.



This hair was a little tricky, the main style is the spiky up-do from Magika called Genesis, but I felt I needed a little more forehead coverage so I tacked on some of the awesome ETD bangs. It is really worth grabbing up the ETD bangs in your favorite shades, they really can transform a style, and Elika's textures work so well with those from dozens of the best wig makes in-world. Skin is Canimal's Essence of Poise Make-Up, and I love the way these skins make me look a little sad, I think it is the eyes, I love having s little expression in a world where is hardly exists but for silly over-emoted grimaces. Lashes are [Detour]'s Love Lashes and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are from Freak Fantasia.

Feeling Groovy...

Whenever we have a Retro Music Event on Retrology, I dive into my inventory and look for something to match the Era. The 50s' are easy, I have a whole SIM full of options, but as for the 60s', well, there the pickings get a little slim. This outfit is from Eloria LeShelle's Battered Boudoir, and to me it just is the epitome of the GoGo Dancer. The Diabolique, here in Green, is a fabulous sexy little mini dress, and comes with tights in two colour options. This pair is Magenta, and I think really adds to the Retro feel of this look. The Diabolique comes in about 10 colour combinations, so you really have a lot of choice, and it can be made to look as modern or as retro as you like based on your choice for accessories. Well worth the LaLas if you go to a club with Era Costume Events.

To really claim this look for the 60s', I needed the perfect pair of Go Go Boots, and while not white patent leather (my mother had those), this pair of Olive Leather Funkies form Maitreya are too perfect a match for me to resist. The inside of this boot even has a magenta Liner. I discovered this great chain link Retro Belt and Earrings set at Caroline's Jewelry some time back, and it is spot on for the Era. I also chose this chunky Pasha Ring, also from Caroline's, for a little touch of Psychedelia. I think they really make the 60s' theme come to life.



The big hair, Aden's Farrah Style is seriously huge, and could work for a 60s' or 70s' look. Skin is Celestial Studios Charmed Line, the make-up is Earth 4, with a lovely neutral lip and the green shadow, this was actually the second premium skin I ever purchased, and I wore it almost exclusively for about 3 months after that, only switching it up for more make-up options within the same line for about a year. It is still the one I wear when I want to look more like me, if that makes any sense. Love Lashes from [Detour] for the "Summer of Love" Look, with Delta Eyes in Hazel also from [Detour].
