Pushing through when you are fighting fatigue and exhaustion is a special kind of ability, and one I seem to be lacking for the most part. Today I have managed to do it, but who knows what tomorrow may bring. I figure every push is like earning my stripes, so to speak, and over my lifetime, I have more stripes than places to display them. This adorable look came together with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of awesome pieces from a lot of different places. Really it is my favorite way to blog, although time consuming, pulling together a really unique look is what makes me most happy. When you combine well made items in new and unexpected ways, you can really express your own sense of style.

It's been a bit of a week for me, and being under the weather does not agree with me so very much. It certainly gets in the way of my ability to blog, which is a shame because there is so much worth blogging on the grid lately. When I finally made my way to The KUSTOM 9 over a week ago, I managed to snag up so much greatness that this post is full of it, in a good way that is. I have fallen in love with my skins, the skins I bought at the last round of The Season's Story (Spring) from ^^Swallow^^. They are the Alice series, and I just love the glowing highlights that give them a luminescent appearance. They also take make-up really nicely from just about any other content creator, what is not to love. As I was perusing the blog feeds, I came across information about The Showroom Event, and spotted a pre-release version of a new skin from my favorite place, ^^Swallow^^. Well, always up for a new skin, I headed over and snagged up this stunning Lizzy skin in the Coffee skin tone. Since I already had the appliers, I figured a great skin for just $250L was a steal, and snatched it up. I was not disappointed in the least, this skin is so lovely, and even though it is a darker tone than I would normally wear, it still feels like 'me'. You owe it to yourself to try on a ^^Swallow^^ skin, just to see how you like them, there are heaps of different looks in the store, but if you want a deal, make sure you head to The Showroom and grab up the Lizzy while it is still available at a pre-release price.

Just a sweet look for a month's end composed of a lot of great items I have snagged at various events around the grid. I am feeling rather lost lately, not in the sense of not knowing where I am, but rather in not knowing where I am going. I feel disconnected and isolated so much of the time, and find myself withdrawing farther from others all the time. It isn't what I ever planned for myself, not where I saw my life going, but it is what it is. I know things can get better, I know they might, but not without effort. When I am in Second Life I can pretend to be someone else, I can dress up like I have somewhere to go, but most of the time even I know it is an act. My true self is hidden behind costumes and cutesy looks that I would never pull off anywhere else. This look is different, it somehow echoes deeper in my heart and soul. It resonates with who I have been and who I am still. This is how I live now.

There are some people in Second Life that have that creative spark that makes me so happy to know them. Amadeo Dubratt is one such person, he is endlessly creative and so very sweet, I will admit to having a bit of a friend-crush on him. He sent me over some of his latest releases, and I had to show you why he makes me smile so. Not only are his Nail Polish appliers fabulous, like this brand new Ama. Aloha set, made especially for the The Aloha Fair 2014 which opened today, but he is very gifty, and has put out a great Ama. Sandy Feet Slink foot applier for all of you to grab up too. Just take a look at how he burned me but good, and he can burn you and all your mesh bits just as well with his new Ama. Sunburned set. It is a full body tattoo layer burn in two extremes (I chose the Full Lobster) for various different 'clothed' parts. I went with the Bikini burn, but there are bare and even shorts options in the pack. Available now exclusively at The Aloha Fair 2014, the set comes with appliers for all your mesh body parts (hands, feet, bewbs and azz) and full bodies (wowmeh and physique), and also includes non-tattoo system layer options as well. It is really well done, and I think I can say I have rocked this look in my real life and once was enough to keep me out of the sun forever. Which is why it's wonderful to fry up my avatar for fun, no worries about sun damage here, just some hilarious photo ops! Thanks sweet Mr. Dubratt for the ouch free fun of getting burned but good!
