Tiptoe Through The Tulips

This time of year is a favorite, second only to Autumn. Spring brings sunshine, but cool breezes and longer evening before it gets dark. I feel like I can get more done, whether I can or not, it is a nice feeling. I love watching tulips push up through the earth in my mother's amazing gardens. I used to order bulbs and deliver them to her in unmarked paper bags, so that their colourful flowers would be a surprise. Although many are eaten by squirrels, rabbits, and as of late, groundhogs, that run around my parents backyard, the ones that survive the winter make for a magical burst of fresh colour. Sometimes, a fresh spring day calls for an equally fresh coloured dress. This adorable Polka Love dress by Betty Doyle of Ingenue is just such a frock. I really love the crisp turned up shoulder detail, and the skirt is a whirl of perfectly textured panels. It reminds me of the lovely tulips currently making their show-stopping display.



I went light on the accessories, taking into account the details on the shoulder and the hair accessory. Starting with a lovely basic pearl strand with an interesting front clasp detail, the Vixie White Pearl Necklace by *KessKreations* is really spectacular as a basic pearl strand. Kesseret Steeplechase always gives me the quality I look for in her work, it is flawless. I found the perfect match for the dress in the colour variations of the Stiletto Moody Pinup Patent Pump. I really love the shape of this shoe, and the colour change version is so very versatile. An adorable Ari Handbag from {Cherry} in a great graphic print means that you can pair it up with so many more outfits. The fresh white accents make it perfect for spring.



This lovely Portia hair from Philotic Energy is a really lovely and fresh up-do, and the floral accent is perfection. The red Hibiscus flower is perfectly sculpted. This style is perfect for a formal or summer fresh look. Another lovely fresh faced skin from -AnaLu-'s *InRainbows* line of modified skins, I am almost wearing them exclusively lately, I think it is mostly the shape of the lips that has my heart. MMS (now LeLutka) Thora Lashes and Big Hazel Eyes are from Miriel.

Same Damn Thing?

I didn't think I would do it, I had heard about the "Same Damn Thing" Blogger challenge, and I am not really a blogger of any consequence, so I figured no one would notice if I participated or not. That, coupled with the fact that I was certain I didn't actually own the shirt in question, the {Gisaci} Cambridge Shirt, and I am still on my 'no shopping' debt reduction diet, I figured I was going to be sitting this one out. But when I logged tonight, I decided for the heck of it, search my inventory for "Cambridge", and lo and behold, there it was. I had forgotten buying it, I last visited Armidi with my sister Anessa when she stuffed a wad of bills in my hands and said, "buy something, it'll make you happy!". And so I did, so she would stop pestering me with teleports to Armidi.



What was intriguing to me about this challenge is that what it all comes down to is diversity. We can all blog the same thing, and we can all make it look like it is our own. I am not saying that people want to see every fashion blog on the feed displaying the same item, but rather even if it happens by coincidence that several people can wear the same item and make it look fresh and different. I am no stylist, I have no training other then years of reading fashion magazines and at best an eye for putting a look together for myself. This is how I felt like wearing my shirt, and I think it is pretty in line with any other look I have crafted over time.



I guess I am now waiting for the SL Secret over on Shopping Cart Disco taking a stab at those of us who participated in Achariya's challenge, and I am prepared to take the hit. When I started blogging, it was not for an audience, I didn't even know the feed existed till weeks later, and I wasn't on the feed for a few months after that. It was a journal about my own virtual wardrobe, and it was frankly a way to justify the massive amount of money I was spending building my inventory into the monster it now is. That doesn't mean I am not fully aware that people read my blog on occasion, or that I don't feel a certain sense of responsibility for representing things honestly and accurately. It means that even though my blog may be consumed by a few other individuals, it does not mean I have given over the right to decide how I use it, what I use it for, and it does not excuse me from owning the content I post. I have opened myself up a bit by allowing people into my hectic life, I share things about myself, and that is the risk you take when you put yourself out there for others to see. But it does not give other people the right to be cruel or rude, or dictate how I spend my time. And so if I choose to blog entirely discontinued items, or previously blogged freebies, or items that are considered out of fashion, then I will be the one to take responsibility for the way I am perceived thereafter.



I guess the only "Same Damn Thing" I will see on the feeds from this point on is a lot of individuals, using their own time to do something that gives them pleasure in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others in any way. A worthwhile lesson I hope everyone has the good sense, humility, decency, and humanity to accept.

Blue Jean Junkie

I think it has been well established that I have more Jeans then anyone could ever wear, at last count about 120 pair. I had convinced myself that there would be absolutely no more denim in my future shopping lists, I even bragged to my partner Draco that there was really nothing I needed to buy ever again, having hundreds of items I have yet to even wear once, and ten-fold that number of things I have only worn once. But that was before the brilliantly talented Zaara Kohime introduced her new line of denim this week. They are just too fantastic not to own, and I had to seriously use every bit of restraint to decide on only one pair. These Zaara Jewelled Jeans in Indigo are so classic and well made, with three sculpted cuff options, and those little touched that make Zaara one of my favorite places to shop of late. The lovely gold jewelled chain over one hip make these jeans not only unique but incredibly sexy. I wanted to show off the jewelled accent on the jeans, so choose a top that revealed the details while offering a lot of style and coverage. This 1/3 of a Tee Shirt from *Thimbles* was the perfect pick, not only is it sexy, as the 1/3 Tee reveals a great tank-top beneath it, but it comes in all layer options, including the pieces individually or together on one layer.



Boots were an easy choice here, as I have been looking for another opportunity to wear these INSOLENCE Natasha Boots, here in a Violet colour that matched the aubergine of the T-Shirt well. Prim cuffs on pants make it easy to convert tall boots to go a step further by only using the shoe base parts, for a tucked under pants look. I wanted to continue with the theme of natural stones in antique looking gold settings to match the chain on the jeans, so I started with some Turquoise Natural Stone Earrings from Swallowtail. I was pleased to discover this great Vintage Heart Necklace from [Curio] in my inventory, a previous group gift. It comes in silver and gold, new and old metals, and looked really great with the high neckline of the Tee. When I was sent a review pack from Burroughs Jewellery, I remember looking at the items and thinking how pretty they all were, but not really seeing them working into my personal sense of style, that was before I realized that each and every item from Burroughs is scripted to change not only stone and gem colours, but also the metal colour and size. They are really fantastic pieces, and can work in so many ways, mixed and matched between sets, and personalized to suit your own style to a tee. Here I am wearing the Julia Ring and the Rommy Bracelet, setting the stones and metals to match the rest of the look.



The more I find in my Hair Fair folders, the more I realize just how wonderful it was to be exposed to dozens of hair designers I had never known previously. I spend thousands of LaLas there, and that was pretty painful at the time, but I have yet to find one style I have purchased that I am not instantly in love with. This *ARGRACE* Hunting Style, Chiffon Curl in the Black shade is absolutely lovely. The hair texture is incredible realistic and the alphas work nicely without the normal high-glitch factor. The hat is part of the wig, and really stylish with a scripted colour change option. My only issue is that this *ARGRACE* wig is no-mod, and comes with a re-sizer script, which is nice for making it larger or smaller, but makes it impossible to do small prim adjustments around the ears or forehead, making it necessary to wear a larger size then you might otherwise choose. A small criticism, but one I think is important for hair designers to consider. Skin is another favorite from Celestial Studios with Love Lashes by [Detour], and Hazel Eyes from Philotic Energy.

Doing Time In Horst

Melatonin Hax is a down girl, she is one of the most marvy people I have ever met. She is cool but it is effortless, she is smart, and funny, and has great taste in tunes. She is also half of the think-tank from *Thimbles*, and the genius behind ::SPLIT PEA:: Hats. She has been busy the last few weeks, and I can tell you now that you will be very happy that she has been. Take a look at your maps, class, and look at the new neighbors to Floyd and Lloyd, home of the Starlustrious Peoples. There are some new kids on the block named Polly Jean and Horst. Mel and the rest of the Starlust Crew have been very busy, filling up another SIM with fabulous, and having spent a little time in Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen, you will see why you would be willing to kill to get in behind those bars. A whole crop of fabulous new shops, or inmates as we call them, have set up on Cell Block H, and you are going to love it! Mel sent me this adorable ::SPLIT PEA:: Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen Pillbox Hat with Veil this week, and I was dying to put a look together to showcase this adorable creation. I can't wait till the official opening of Horst so that you all can get a look, it is going to be a great place to discover new-to-you content.



When I think prison, I think stripes, so I went for it with this adorable dress from **THE CLOSET**. The Scale Print Dress comes in a number of colour combinations, but the black and white stripes make it slimming and eye catching. I really like the ruffled details on the cap sleeves. So many colours to work with here, but I decided to stay with the black and white, and paired the dress with a great White pair of Tights from Blaze*. These shoes are absolutely drop dead fabulous too. The Death Dolly Goth Mary Jane Pumps from Unique Needs! are the antidote to sugary sweet Mary Janes, with rows of spikes and skull and crossbones adornments. I love a chunky pump like this, and pairing it with a pale opaque tight and mini-dress is always a great move. A fabulous bag from **DP**yumyum means I can carry all those prison essentials, shiv, cigarettes to barter with, maybe some girly mags for those lonely nights. This is one of the great Vinyl Totebags offered by **DP**yumyum, and the selection is great, as is the price. Now to the prison meals, nothing better then some ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ to make doing hard time a little easier, and the new Turkish Delight Bracelet Set is a great way to go. These sets from come in several combinations, a real departure from the candy colours I normally associate with the shop, and the price of $100 LaLas for a set is a steal.



Hair is more Hair Fair fabulousness, this wig is from Philotic Energy, one of my longtime favorites. I love the texture of this Charcoal with White Tips Colour, and the Adi style works well with the Pill Box Hat too. Skin is Canimal's Essence of Pinup, an absolute favorite, and eyes are the piercingly sexy Splatter Eyes from the Watery Eyes - Mud Collection at Big Booty Big Money. If prison garb looked this sexy, people would be desperately trying to get in rather then out. I await the opening of Horst, so I can do the Jail House Rock reenactments I have been longing for.

Holey Knit Wit

The cooler fall weather is the perfect excuse to bring out the knitwear. One of my favorite textures, and one that is very difficult to work with in-world, is knit. There is plenty of it around, but finding good realistic looking knit wear is difficult. One of my favorite sweaters, is this Holey Sweater from Surf Couture. It is a fantastic item for layering, as it works nicely over almost any T-shirt, and in comes in about a dozen amazing colours. This Blue one was the perfect started for this look, and since my favorite colour to wear with blue in chocolate brown, the rest came together pretty easily. I have had this Brown Cord Mini from Naughty Designs longer then I can remember, but it is a sweet little skirt, and the heavier corduroy fabric is a perfect match to fall knit wear. I tucked one of my favorite tank tops underneath the sweater, this Pushbutton Industries The Error top in Chestnut with Blue is a great option, as it comes with a tucked or untucked version on all layers. It picks up on both the blues and browns in this casual and flirty look. I adore socks with mini-skirts, and [MG Fashion] has fabulous packs of Knitted Socks that have any colour you could ever want, which is one of my favorite things about [MG Fashion]. I picked up three packs all together, and this great Brown pair was in the Pack 01. A great over the knee sock to pair with minis, shorts, or babydoll dresses, the knit texture is great for the upcoming season.



I went with a boot from Pixeldolls (Luna Viola), the Desert Boot is a great short sculpted boot, that comes in a pack with a black or brown accented version, and the boot colour is HUD Scripted to change to one of 6 great colours, so it is like 12 pair of boots for one great price. I added a casual Denim Hobo Bag from Celestial Studios, one of my all time favorite bags. As a lover of Indian Culture, this Ganesha Necklace from -EARTHTONES- is a special favorite. Ganesha is one of the most identifiable of all the Hindu deities, widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings, patron of arts and sciences, and the Deva of intellect and wisdom. You can't really beat that as an ornamental amulet. This simple set of Rust Wire Bangles from Philotic Energy, is really neat looking, and I honestly don't remember how I acquired it, but I am glad they are in my massive inventory, I think they work well with this look.



Now that the Hair Fair is over, it is time to showcase more of my favorites, like this Maitreya Chloe style. I love the relaxed knit wool cap, and it is scripted to change colours with a click. This brown was the perfect match for this look. The sculpted chunks of hair are really great, I love the way it covers half the face, very sexy. The blue of this Canimal Essence of Frost skin work well here too, picking up on the blues in the outfit nicely. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake, and eyes are Glassy Mustard Green from Freak Fantasia. I am anxiously awaiting fall and winter releases with more great knit textures, somehow the cooler weather just seems for natural for me, even in-world. Must be the weather in Toronto, even though we have scorching summers, I am far more a fan of the fall and winter weather.

Butterfly Fantasies

When Myllie Writer released her Odelia Dress this week, I put it down on my shopping list as one to get. I was thrilled when Myllie sent me all three versions of the *PERSONA* Odelia Dress this week, and as soon as I got it, I threw on this adorable Purples Butterflies Dress. I love a sweet summer dress, and this one is really special because of the delicate lace hem adorned with colourful butterflies. They seemed to flutter around me as I walked about the Footwear Expo this week, and I particularly love this purple version, but the orange and green are just as lovely. The crisscrossed straps on the back of the dress are another sweet detail.

I went light on the accessories, as I was mostly browsing the Expo, so I skipped heavy duty and went for simple and very wearable. Fresh Baked Goods are high up on the wearable list, here I chose to wear one each of the Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangles and the Gem Jelly Donut Bangles in Silver, they are simple to customize by click, and they really can be worn with almost anything. The giant Fantasy Amethist [sic] Ring was a gift from my sister Anessa, from the Bandit Jewelry Shop, and it has a great resizer script as well as (thank goodness) a bling on/off option. I pulled in a simple -EARTHTONES- Triple Layer Necklace, with scripted crystals you can customize to match your look, always a bonus. The shoes are the famous ChiChi Pumps in Black from Maitreya, a purchase I will never regret.



I had been waiting for a sweet dress look to wear this adorable Girl Friend Style from BP*, and though it required some heavy tweaking to get the fit right on my huge melon, it was well worth it. The skin is a soft smoky Purple Sunset from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, really a lovely make-up. I went with a fluttery purple lash from Canimal, the Essence Lash in Purple Flamenco Trash is just another lovely dash of purple. The large almost Anime' Hazel Eyes are from Philotic Energy.

Hang The DJ!

OK, so call me shocked as all heck, but somehow I was voted one of the Top 10 DJs in Vain Inc. Magazine's Contest. As an editor for Vain Inc., doing the Look of The Month, I actually didn't even tell anyone about the contest, because I just thought it was going to look wrong for me to even be part of it. But apparently, my friends, family, and regular listeners felt otherwise, and voted for me without my knowledge. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out I was one of the Top 10. I am incredibly flattered, mostly shocked, and really honoured to be in the company of the others in the Top 10, who are likely much better known then I am. In any case, Anessa offered to update my DJ Picture for me, since it was almost 8 months old, and I think she did a great job.

This outfit is composed of some of my very favorite things, this is exactly what I love to wear when I DJ a non-contest event, because this is how I dress in RL. casual, a little bit of funk, a lot of rock n' roll. I started with my absolute hands down favorite pair of Hell & Back Again Jeans from The Abyss. They are just a beat up and comfy pair, and go perfectly with a great T-Shirt, this one from Pushbutton Industries. The Old Fruit Tees come on all layers, which is one of my favorite things about *PBI*. I love a tucked in Tee, who needs to see tummy all the time? The shoes are some of the first sneakers I ever owner in-world, KK Outfitters makes some really great Lo-Top Kicks in a rainbow of colours, just as great for guys as for the ladies.



The accessories are all rock chick too, starting with this great Pick & Bullet Necklace from Vogart, I love the guitar picks on it. The bag is from *i-Candy*, the Boom Box Bags come in a pack of 2 coloured ones, but last time I was there (last week) they had a black one for just $1LaLa. The Spiked Black Arm Bands from WRONG are great wardrobe staples for me, and I nabbed this great Mod Love Ring from KaNdy Kitty on my last trip to Dogtown. This LuLu Link Belt is also a longtime favorite from Celestial Studios.



This Hair is another great style from Philotic Energy, I love shaggy cuts, and this Kalia one is really wicked. The skin is a new fave from QS Skins, and I am dying for new make-up releases, how great is this funky Disco 003 Skin? Love the Purple/Blue Lip and the Red shadow. The spider like Lashes are from Celestial Studios, the Club 1 Prim Lashes are really sexy and dramatic. Eyes are from BBBM, and I am waiting for news of their re-opening soon.

I Amma In Love

Neferia Abel and her husband Brumm have been working tirelessly on rebuilding the Ivalde SIM over the past week. Nef was running out of prims, producing as much as she does week after week, I can see how that could happen. When I spoke to her last week about joining the Retrology Sidewalk Sale, she showed me the new dresses she was releasing today when her shop re-opened. The minute I saw the image of this precious Amma Dress in Pink, I went Oooh and Ahh, and the next thing I knew, Nef had dropped it on me. I wanted to blog it immediately, because it is so divinely lovely, but I held off until it was on sale in her shop. Today is that day, Ivalde has re-opened, the Build is spectacular, so I proudly present to you one of my favorite dresses perhaps of all time, Amma. I love the careful shading on the bodice, that makes the satiny texture look like it is reflecting light, I love the broomstick pleated skirts, it is a simply lovely dress, perfect for a Summer Night Wedding, or a Special Party.

If someone asked me what my favorite gemstone was, I would say none-of-the-above, for it is a Tahitian Pearl that I adore, preferably in a silver or white gold setting. Muse has some deliciously dark pearls, and I love this simple pair of Claris Black Pearl earrings. I have had this amazing triple strand of pearls from Muse for some time, the Celine Pearl Necklace it very formal, but I think it works well here as the rest of the look is so understated. I pulled in a simple Black Pearl Cuff from Frangipani Designs, and am wearing my Gimcrack Diamond Ring from Caroline's Jewelry. For an evening out, a sweet little evening bag, like this Lace Drawstring Handbag from (Shiny Things) is just perfection. A delicate sandal from INSOLENCE is perfect for a dressy summer look, the April Sandal in Pink is really delicate, with lovely sculptie work.



This lovely Lain Hair, from Philotic Energy was something I nabbed on my last trip there. I have been gravitating towards shorter styles lately, but this long style was a must have. I love the shaggy bangs, and the headband can be touch tinted to any one of dozens of colours, making it incredibly wearable. Skin is from bianca F.'s fata line, I love the dramatic longeyes make-up, perfect for a night out, and the pale lip is very soft and lets the eyes to all the talking. Lashes are [Detour] Love Lashes, and eyes are from Freak Fantasia.

Sticking With Ivalde...

I make it no secret that some of my favorite unique hair comes from the intriguing mind of Aemilia Case of Philotic Energy. Whenever she has a new release, I head on over and it would be a complete surprise to me if I didn't love everything she created. This style name Lysa II is just great, it comes with the optional jeweled Hair Sticks, with color Scripted Gems you can customize to match your look. It has some great height on it, and some really nice loose strands that make it looked relaxed and dressy at the same time.

This Eirny Dress from ~~Ivalde~~, comes with the sweet bolero, and the skirt is a wonderful, rippled sculpt confection, so brilliant. This dress has an optional belt on the Jacket layer, and with the rage for belts, it will come in handy with any number of looks. The stockings are included, and Eirny has a decidedly 80s' feel to me, and who doesn't love that! I added in a turtleneck collar for a more unique look, this one from *Thimbles* Debbie Does Jacket (a brilliant piece with two collar options). Shoes are the sexy as all heck T-Strap Pumps in Black from FNKY!. I pulled in some silver accents with a simple Silver Clutch from Adam N Eve, a Kay Onyx Bracelet from Zaara Indian Couture, and a simple Solitaire Ring from -EARTHTONES-.



Skin and Prim Lashed from my first love, Celestial Studios. Skin is from the Charmed Line, in the Diva make-up, I love the Charmed Skins, and still think they are some of the best brows of any skin I have seen. The lashes are the uber dramatic Club 13 Prim Lashes. Eyes are the absolutely stunning Big Hazel Eyes from (Miriel).

Divine in Burgundy Wine

I have been sitting on this sweet Pleated Neck Babydoll top from Armidi Gisaci for months, the minute I saw it I knew it was exactly the colour I wanted and the style was just so elegant yet casual. I love the subtle pleating of the body and neck on this top, the sheerness of the top is so modest yet so sexy. Only when putting this look together, did I realize I had purchased the matching shoes at some earlier point, the Armidi Gisaci Barcelona Slingbacks in Falu. And so an outfit was born.

When Aleri Darkes has a new release, the update group gets the shout-out and there is always a 75% sale on one of the new items for the first 24 hours of the release. I picked up these fabulous shorts on sale, the *AD* Brighton Shorts in Grey cost me less the $40LaLas, but they are a great item at any price, a classy pair of shorts that can be dressed up or down. I wanted to go with natural classic accessories, and this lovely Shell Day Bag from Cachet is so precious. The ring is a gift from my sister Anessa, the Princess Ring from Paper Couture. I pulled in some of my all-time favorite Jewelry, the Grazia Pearls from EARTHTONES, here in the Divine/Silver colour. I had never worn and hair from Laqroki (formerly RaC), I wasn't always so hot on the way it moved, the flexi made it look like a living thing. But when I saw this great Divine Up-do, I leapt at it, although I did make a copy and pull the bangs off it to add a little more to the forehead on this one, I just felt I needed more. The skin is the dreamy eyed Twinkle from Celestial Studios Charmed Line. I am wearing the big, almost Anime' fabulous Hazel Eyes from Philotic Energy, and Bedroom Lashes from Cake. A divine look head to toe.

A Little Attitude & PERSONA

So today I feel all attitude, and I do attitude with a whole lot of personality. When Old Gravy re-opened on Retrology last week, I made a point of scooping up the one or two hairstyles I had yet to collect. This awesome Vicious style is hella punky and rad, and really love the way the flexi twists move. I decided to put on one of my dozens of Celestial Studios skins, the one I think is the most dramatic, this awesome Infrared Make-Up in the Charmed Line. The dramatic red shadow with the Hazel Eyes from Philotic Energy are really a striking contrast. Lashes are from Detour, Love my Love Lashes.

I really was looking forward to wearing these NEW jeans from Pushbutton Industries, I love the colour of PBI's Jeans, they are unlike the normal plain old blues you see all over the grid. This pair, in the Rust colour, is the Squatter Jeans, and it comes in an Undies layer for boot wearing, as well as 3 pant layer options, sand belt, and 2 belted versions. As for the tops, well this is a brilliant set from PERSONA, new to the Retrology group of Vendors. The top is called the Itaparica Blouse, and comes in a number of colours, and also this tintable white version. It comes on Jacket and Shirt Layers, with or without the Camisole. Now the trick to the 2 different coloured layers, and why this top is your best bet, is if you wear the Camisole Shirt layer version first, then the non-camisole Jacket Layer on top, you can achieve the look of 2 different colours as I managed to do. I tinted the shirt layer a dusty rose, and the jacket layer a deep teal for a really nice contrast, To increase the layered look, I edited the length of the Jacket Layer, shortening it slightly, so that the bottom of the shirt layer could be seen too. This PERSONA top is a MUST HAVE for sheer versatility and customization.



These fabulous NEW Boots from Jaywalk are a dream, when Lyra Muse dropped a fatpack of them on me this week, I was in heaven. So many awesome colour choices and buckle options, but this Teal version of the Kit boot is the one that really caught my eye. Love the chunky curved heel. I also decided to wear a favorite necklace from Red Ruin, this Gothic Lolita Necklace is so sweet. I picked up the skull motif from the necklace in this great messenger bag from WRONG. I threw on a simple bracelet from SD Wears to complete this look, this one is called Beyond The Stars, and it has a really nice Murano Glass look to the Beads.

Feeling Fierce!

I was thrilled to be invited to the Opening of the Starlust Motel by friend Stein Shilova last Friday, and decided to Glam up for the Party. Stein has created some really adorable and unique shapes in her shop HOT BOX, and I was thrilled to finally get a look at what has been keeping her so busy! The invite called for Glam, but the Glam look I put together was slightly unconventional I would say, and it all started with my Shopping Day last week. Starting at Paper Couture, I picked up these amazing chunky Art Deco Earrings. After picking up armloads of goodies at P.C., I dragged my fella along to REDGRAVE, to take a look at their new Men's stuff, particularly the new shoes. Of course I had to take a peek at the Women's shop, and when I saw this sexy little Brown Glitter Clubbing Dress... I had to make it mine. I normally don't go for anything so overtly sexy, but this dress was fierce! It came with the Fishnets, and some Gold Ring & Bangles sets that were a little too over the top for me, but still very nice. I think that these Boots from REDGRAVE in the Smoke Leather colour go so well with the dress, and they are so nicely made. There is a little alpha oddness about them on the calf, but only transient, and depending on the angle you are looking from, still a boot I adore and highly recommend.

So going with the Fierce theme, I was ecstatic to wear this amazing NEW hair from Philotic Energy. I just felt so sexy in this unexpected and very funky Xantha hair, and I just love that it cam be dressed up with a glam club look, or could work equally well with a grungy urban look. PE is fast becoming my go-to place for unique and show-stopping hair. Sexy Cake Bedroom Lashes add even more drama to the look and draw focus to some great Hazel Eyes from Detour. I think that this great Found Hearts Bracelet from Yummy pulled in the gold of the earring nicely, and didn't clutter up the look.

I have been looking closely at the new line of Canimal Skins, ever since Canimal Zephyr dropped a review pack on me upon their release. I don't normally do reviews, so I wasn't sure how I would handle the situation, but I must say, trying the skin on and getting a good look at it made me really re-think my exclusive love affair with Celestial Studios skins. I really think wearing them a few times made all the difference, and the look of the brows and the lovely make-ups is not such a drastic departure from my usual look. So this week I went out and picked up a three-pack from Canimal, and I am really loving them. This is the Essence of... PinUp in the Grace skin tone, and I really think it is a stunning skin. Boot Camp Cute

Headed to Boot Camp, and what could be more appropriate then these fabulous Chunky Ribbon Boots from Shiny Thing. I love that these boots come with a colour change HUD for the ribbons, and went back to get the deluxe ribbon tint HUD recently, now I can pretty much match them to anything I own. Case in point, this fabulous G.I. Jenny dress from Canimal, which is so adorable and nicely side-steps the overdose of camouflage problem that you see with most military influenced fashion.

More great hair from Philotic Energy, this Melantha style is very funky, and reminds me a similar style from a Mega Brand, but this one has a lovely detail in the barrettes on one side, and the shade is so much more to my liking, less pearly white (which can look grayish in some light, and more pure white.

I was delighted to discover a little shop called Vogart recently, with some nice unisex jewelry, particularly this adorable necklace with guitar picks and a bullet on a chain. It's just so cool, and come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes so you can get the fit just right. A little stocking always sexes up a mini-dress, and these funky torn fishnets from DUTCH TOUCH are just the thing. I also put on my favorite earring for my everyday look, the Tunnel Multi Set from Drifting Sands. Private Ket-Su Reporting for Duty SIR!

Green To The Nines

What with St. Patricks Day on Monday, and all the Green Available Now, I am having a delicious time over-indulging in my favorite colour of all. But just because it's green doesn't mean it's for me, and I have seen a lot of 'Green Don'ts' this week in SL. Let's face it, making something fluorescent green does not make it a must have for St. Patty's or any other day.*lolz*

When I was asked to fill in DJ for some of the Opening of "LeeZu Baxter Designs" new "To The Nines" SIM, I was thrilled, and spun away happily for almost 3 hours, the whole time dying to get into the store so I could load up on more goodies! When I finally was able to ambulate over, through the lag of the LeeZu Fans there to do the same, I saw this adorable dress and of course, it is that perfect shade of Green Yumminess for me. The "Vaugn" Flexi dress can be purchased with add-ons like different flexi skirts and shruggy capes and all sorts of fabulous colour options, but I liked the simplicity of the main dress so very much. The texturing and details, like these bronze buttons, are really nicely done. I also picked up these brilliant 'Anna' stockings, that come in a pack of a dozen or so springlike colour options, that can be matched with the dress or practically anything else you own. I love that they are slightly un-even, and look so casual.

This Amazing bag is one of Elika's newest from "ETD Accessories" and gosh it was hard to choose just one! This amazing 'Brown Croc - City Handbag' just looked too delicious to pass up. Again, more of the fabulous hair from "Philotic Energy", this adorable 'Niela' style had colour scripted flowers, and is just so fresh and spring-like. I am truly thrilled with the range of style I am finding at "PE", and can't wait for new releases!

I had this adorable 'Chocolate Ring' from "KUROTSUBAKI", a valentine's group gift, and it is seriously adorable and such a nice little trinket. I have a confession, I horde freebies, and rarely even look at most of them once collected, never-mind sort them and wear them, but this one was love at first sight. I thought these nice earthy brown 'Vixen' Boots from "Frangipani Designs" worked well with the lawn greens in this look, and love the name of this colour 'VooDoo'! An awesome bracelet set from "Shiny Things" finishes off this look nicely I think, this the 'Hippie Deluxe' in Brown. This look is a 'Green Do' that will survive the post St. Patty's season, and I could not be more gleeful!

Pixel Perfect Pixie

When I do my rounds on Retrology, as I do almost every week, I am always looking out for something NEW and fabulous on the Retro Scene, and I always stop into "Marlys" to see what's new. How I missed this one, I am not sure... but the minute I spotted "Marlys" fabulous 'Slim Pixie' I was ecstatic! I love short styles, and have been looking for a Twiggy Perfect Pixie Cut, but had yet to find one that looked right. There is no doubt for me that this wig by "Marlys" is by far the best pixie style cut I have seen in SL. It frames the face beautifully, and really complimented the angles of my face. I would wear it every day if I could, no word of a lie, and if I could get away with it in RL, I would take a snap of this to my Hairdresser in a second.

Yay for exposed necks, and yay for these fabulous chandelier earrings from "{JUNK}", could you die! They are over 130 prims per earring, and definitely not something you wear to a fashion show or full and laggy sim... but WOW! There are just amazing works of art, and paired with the Pixie cut, they are brilliant. I wanted to go with a more retro make-up here, and nothing is more retro then Blue Shadow, this skin from "Celestial Studios" Charmed Line makes blue shadow positively modern and fresh, and I love the way the upper lid liner extends past the lash line, very sexy. With a Pixie Cut, there is always the risk of looking boyish, but some fabulous feminine Lashes from "Celestial Studios" make a very feminine silouette here.

With these statement earring, I opted to not wear a necklace, and went for a plunging neckline with this fabulous dress from "*FUSE", called the 'Waldorf'. It is lovely, and I love the petal like hemline on the skirt. It also comes with Jacket/Shirts options, so you can easily work to top into another outfit. Some sleek boots from "Maitreya" in this Suede work well with a softer black, and really, this makes three pairs of 'Dune' boots for me... but who is counting (/me puts fingers in ears and hums).

Another bag I love to wear, this sweet "Deux Filles" purse with it's fabulous transparent bag, filled with all the things a good Fashionista should have, Sunglasses, Chanel No. 5, Compact, Lipstick, and CASH. As you all know by now, I am all over anything with kitschy details, and this purse is just adorable. Simple thin Multi-hued Metallic Bangles from "OPIUM Everyday" finish off my look.

Menswear Made Modern

There has always been something very sexy about women borrowing looks from Men's Fashion. But there is a fine line between Menswear made Sexy and Menswear made... well, tres Butch. So when I started to put this look together, I knew I wanted something that emphasized a feminine silhouette, but borrowed classic menswear touches like vests and this fabulous Top Hat. With a Pop of Red mixed in, it is very current and I think pretty eye catching.

This hair and Hat combo called 'Noah' from "PE" is really cute, and I think as cute on guys as on gals, the texturing on the hat is really nice, and it looks like a weathered crushed felt, really nice. I love the feather accent on the side too, I am consistently impressed with the details in Aemilia's work. I picked up this two necklace set at "OPIUM Everyday", they can be worn separately or together, and the double strand which I tinted Red can be made to match anything you wear.

I loved this 'Ruffled Vest' from "Hiccup" the minute I spotted it, and it comes on a jacket layer, but I was having trouble finding a blouse to wear under it that was long enough. The 'Boyfriend Button down' from "Blaze" (which was a FREEBIE) is great for a long look, using the shirt and system skirt layers. Some underpants layer jeans, these from "Mischief Fashions" work well with a sleek boot, like these from "Last Call - Vamp". I LOVE this Hobo Bag from "Celestial Studios", and own it in Orange and Denim, but this 'Patent Cherry' was a valentines gift to the Update Group, and seriously... can a woman have too many purses? I think not. So this is my take on a very feminine menswear look, sometimes it's nice to put the girly stuff aside in favor of something sleek and tailored.

Korny Gothic Energy

A few weeks back, when it was brand spanking new, I picked up this adorable Jacket/Dress from "~Ivalde~" called 'Korny'. I loved it on sight, and choose the Purple Set because it is a colour I have neglected recently. I love that the set comes with a full pant and cuff option, or these fabulous grey tights, which are both included. Neferia always amazes me with her range, everything from 18th Century French Revolution, to the most current fashions, and literally everything in between. I also love how versatile her stuff is, this coat could have inspired a much more classic look, but works just as well with this slightly Gothic look I have working.

So I have been heavily indulging in the "Philotic Energy" lately, and one look at this Hair/Hat Combo can explain why, it is simply magnificent! Unique, Modern, Edgy, and So Inventive! You won't see it in these still pictures, but on the small hat with goggles, there is a little gear box on the side, and if you look close, it is an animated texture, so the gears appear to be spinning away... details like that are quickly making "PE" on of my favorite hair shops on the Grid. This style named 'Shelby' is a work of art, and can go Gothic or steam punk, or just plain kitschy in a snap!

These 'Asuka' boots are now becoming heavy favorites for me, they are from "Lassitude & Ennui" and have both silver or golden button options in the folder, so you can really customize the look and get more use out of them. I grabbed up a Gothic accent, this adorable handbag from "Bastchild Designs", and I really loved the way this look came together! So I am all set to go... Today is shopping day and I am already down about $8,000L, lets see how much more damage I can do to my $L Balance before I DJ Tonight at PIN UPS, it's going to be a "Made in The 80s" Event, and I have always said there needs to be more 80s Fashion in SL. What I wouldn't give for a Fluorescent Yellow Bat Wing Sweatshirt and Acid Wash Jeans!

Back To Work...

Sometimes, yous just have to roll up your sleeves and get down to business, we are re-tweaking a bit at PIN UPS, trying some new things, revisiting our roots... it's hard work to keep a Club alive in SL, keep things fresh, especially after 1 year plus of events. So I felt like dressing the part, getting all down-to-business like, with my own personal spin on it. I wish I remembered where I got this Blouse & Vest Combo, and it is not labeled clearly, but I have always liked it... it is made by "Shin Mathilde", but the profile seemed to lead me down a lot of empty roads. I loved the smokey colour of the vest, and paired it with these fabulous dressed up Cargo Pants from "REDGRAVE". The are cargos, but they have just enough chic style to make them dressy too.

Can I talk about this amazing Hair for just a moment... it is "Philotic Energy", and it is Devine! A kicking Up-Do, with a colour scripted head band, a little dressy, a little casual, "Iseult" is just a brilliant and unique style, something I have come to appreciate about "PE". Some chunky bangles, and this delish "Coco" necklace from "Miam Miam" complete the dressed up look for me. I loved wearing these "Maitreya" shoes again, the 'Limelights' are just so versatile, and work great with pants or skirts, without interfering with system pant hems or looking too chunky for skirts. Alright kids... lets get back to work now!

Suspenders & Rain Boots!

OK... I love Cute Rain boots in SL. I never wear them in RL, in Toronto... we go from Hot Summers to Dead of Winter Overnight it seems, so there is really no need, also, they are rubber.. yer foots get sweaty! So in SL, I indulge this love and when I first saw these boots at ETD months ago, I was giddy! So cute right! So I wanted to go with the cute and the kitsch, and I was dying to wear these fabulous Suspenders from "Thimbles", these came with the 'Man Who Shot Liberty Valence' Set in Blue, the Shirt and Undies Layer make up the top, while the suspenders are on the Jacket layer... totally versatile and so cute... I paired them with these great Capri length jeans from "TULI" and the Suspenders lined up so perfectly, they look like they were made for each other.

I wanted some socks in my boots, and picked out these adorable "Maitreya" Slouch Socks in Blue, I didn't notice the matchy red flecks in them till I was taking the pictures, so great! A nice set of bracelets in reds from "Illuminare" also tie in the Reds nicely. The Great Wig, from "PE" was one of my latest buys on my trip to the new PE Mainstore in Imogen, I pretty much binged out on PE, and got about 7 styles in one go. While there, I snagged this supper cute Backpack too, love the little kitty doll on the back and the 'Bunneh' print on the sack. You need to go check out the new PE shop, it is really something, it will turn your world upside-down! *winks*

Pretty in Pink

I love [MG Fashions], and when i got word of new releases I hurried over to grab em' up! I am in love with the new "London Calling" collection, and of course, colour choices is my only stumbling point when it comes to MG. I loved the Pink Jacket on sight, and decided on the Burgundy Sequin Skirt to complete the look. When a "Best in Pink" event arrived at PIN UPS, I was all set to go. I love the trendy hair at Philotic Energy, and this style is Punky Chic and so fun. I love updos lately, anything that shows off my ears is great! A chance to show off earrings is NEVER a bad thing.
