COLLABOR88 - The Fates: Clotho

This month marks the three year anniversary of COLLABOR88, and it is a shopping experience of truly epic proportions. There is so much stunning content of every kind, and easily twice as many vendors as ever before. The theme is Odyssey, and it is entirely evocative of Greek and Roman Pantheon Gods and Goddesses. Everything is decadent and gilded, and it is really a matter of being spoiled for choice, I had to have it all. In celebration of the three year mark for COLLABOR88, I opted to evoke the three Fates, or Moirae, with three looks to match the three Goddesses.

Clotho is the youngest of the Moirae, one of the three Fates, and is known as the spinner. This Greek Goddess, the daughter of Zeus it is presumed, is said to have spun the threads of destiny that determine the time of birth of an individual. I depicted her in the morning sunrise, as she represents the early morning of the lifespan. I see her in green, a color of living things and growth. This classic dress by La Penderie de Nicole is clean lined perfection in a fitted mesh. Hair, most accessories, and poses can also be found at this months round of COLLABOR88.

How I Live Now

I am feeling rather lost lately, not in the sense of not knowing where I am, but rather in not knowing where I am going. I feel disconnected and isolated so much of the time, and find myself withdrawing farther from others all the time. It isn't what I ever planned for myself, not where I saw my life going, but it is what it is.  I know things can get better, I know they might, but not without effort.  When I am in Second Life I can pretend to be someone else, I can dress up like I have somewhere to go, but most of the time even I know it is an act. My true self is hidden behind costumes and cutesy looks that I would never pull off anywhere else. This look is different, it somehow echoes deeper in my heart and soul. It resonates with who I have been and who I am still. This is how I live now.

Hair Fair - The Constant Gardener

Out in my front yard doing a little surveying before I plan my new garden, I think a little maintenance is required. What requires no maintenance is my hair, which is another fabulous Hair Fair 2014 offering from Eaters Coma.  This style, with sweet over the front braids, is wonderful as is, or you can also buy a version with an attached hat, also by Eaters Coma and available Exclusively at Hair Fair 2014 until July 27th, the last day to get all that wiggy goodness in one place. Moving Day

I am getting my move on in Second Life, moving from a lofty Sky Box to a sweet little place on the ground.  I picked up The Karin Cottage by Trompe Loeil at last months COLLABOR88 event, and decided it was time to have a real kitchen and a little garden out back. With only ONE DAY LEFT to get yourself to Fashion For Life and shop for heaps of Exclusive Items while donating to Relay For Life of Second Life at the same time, this will be my last post for the 2014 event.  Despite my focus on the amazing fashions and accessories available at this year's event, the cause has never been far from my heart.  Second Life is a 'Game' to many people, or at the very least, a pleasant distraction and escape from the every day grind. But it can be so much more than that when we come together as a community and spend our Linden Dollars for a purpose. The purpose in this case is to provide much needed funding to the American Cancer Society, which has many projects underway, including the funding of Cancer Research. 

Whether you choose to give in-world, at event like Fashion For Life, or donate directly to a charity of your choice, know that you are what makes the difference between a successful event and one that falls short. Please make sure you visit the event before it closes on June the 21st, and spend a little good will, buy something great or just donate directly at a kiosk. Lush As Spring Tulips

Spring doesn't just mean a palette of sweet pastels, it also means lush petal tones, like those in the tulips trying to poke their way out of the earth to enjoy the sun.  This lovely look made me think of those beds of silky red tulips that blanket downtown Toronto, and welcome the warm weather with the rest of us. With Passover starting tonight, and Easter just around the corner, it is time to celebrate new life and all things that bring family together.
