The Sweater Dress Song

One of the gems I picked up at the :bijou: preview was this simple, understated, yet elegant Refrain Knitdress in Night shades. I was really surprised to find it among the ultra-hip newness at :bijou: all set for the opening of the bijouholic SIM on the 11th of this month. A classic body skimming dress, with really nice trim details, almost a pearlized crocodile edging on the neckline and hem. I must admit I didn't even notice that detail until I had it on, but it really is a nice touch. The dress comes in several colour variations, but I felt this grey scale version had the best. With the almost pink colour of the trim, it opened the door to do something I rarely do, mix browns and greys together. I added a simple system layer belt from *Thimbles*, to add a little interest at the waist. The Mr. Belt is really great to wear over long tops or dresses, as it comes on the jacket layer and worked well here as the :bijou: dress which comes with all layer options. Some nice basic hosiery from **Battered Boudoir** smooths the transition from hem to boot.



Unlike my sister Anessa, the shoe queen of Phil's Place, I have to save my pennies to get the footwear I love. I had been meaning to head over to Maitreya for over a week to get closer look at the new releases, but after getting this dress, I really made a point of going, and this pair of SoHo Boots in Ice Suede were the perfect compliment, the billowy suede of the upper boot is a nice contrast to the sleek skirt. I headed over to check out Kess Kreations for the first time this week, after seeing her work at the Jewelry Expo, I wanted to see more. Kess is incredibly talented in so many types of media, but when I saw this Wooden Bead Jewelry Set i though it was really something. It is scripted so that the stone change colour, making it really versatile. I am wearing the necklace and earrings, but it also comes with a great matching bracelet. I really like natural looking jewelry, something organic in a pixelated place. A great basic black Boulevard handbag from a past Paper Couture collection, as well as my Gimcrack Diamond Ring from (Caroline's) round out the accessories.



After seeing it on the feeds, I had to indulge in this Ruby wig from TRUTH. It is a really cute up do, with a colour scripted bow. TRUTH's recent makeover has me a little confused, and I was rather miffed that the colour packs have changed. I really loved that the black and white shades were put together, since I wear both colours almost exclusively. I still love the hair, and it is still a reasonably priced wig, but will likely buy a bit less of it now that it means having to buy two packs instead of one to get the shades I love. Another new-to-me skin that I nabbed during the Celestial Studios sale, the Charmed Line's Earth 3 make-up, just really pretty and classic. Lashes are from [Detour], and eyes from Karamia. So back into the closet I go to find out what else may be hiding in there, may the inventory g-ds be good to me.

I Can Sing A Rainbow...

Things you should know about my blog, I never edit my indoor or outdoor shots. I don't adjust colours, blend seams, or hide imperfections. What you see is what you get, basically. I have a pretty old graphics card, I don't see windlight features. I don't have a fancy studio, I have a three sided box with a floor that I made myself, I set it to full bright, and I edit the colour of the background to work with the clothes I am wearing. I don't play with the advanced sky menu, I just slide to the time of day lighting that looks best, and then I snap away. I basically crop, or cut out my images to slide into a three-shot collage. I take high-resolution bmp pictures, then save as high-resolution jpegs. Outdoor pictures are just cropped. The only added effect is a outline of the picture. Very basic, yet for me the best option I can think of for fast shoots. I have a Tillie's Posing Stand in my skybox that currently has 933 poses in it. I do not own a full copy of Photoshop, I use Photoshop Elements, and for me it serves it's purpose. Anyone can do what I do, it's really easy, and I think sometimes simple is best. The real trick, is putting together a great look. That can sometimes take me upwards of half an hour, embarrassing but true, and it is mainly because I am spoiled for choice since I have so much new to wear in my inventory, my shopping outpaces my ability to ever wear it all.



I love colour, and this look of the day is no exception. The reason this look, in my opinion, sidesteps the gaudy overdone colour trap, is that it is anchored with simple black accessories and a basic Classic Loose Tank from Armidi Everyday. The almost fluorescent Green Overdyed Jeans from Celestial Studios are an absolute scene stealing pair, the cuff options on all of Starley's pants are great, you can wear them the way you prefer, skinny, boot, or wide cuffed. Speaking of Celestial Studios, if you have ever wanted to pick up some great skins, this is the time. Yesterday I picked up the last 10 I was missing from my all time favorite Charmed Line skins. At just $500LaLas a pop, it was the perfect opportunity to complete my set, and this amazing Purple - Eggplant make-up is one I have been drooling over for ages. It added a great complimentary colour to the green, so I went with some Purple Alpaca Armwarmers from Argyle as well.



On to accessories, and a brilliant Casual Purse I nabbed at the ETD sale going on now. Unless I was misreading the prices, everything is one sale, and it is all priced at unbelievable low cost. I think many items, like shoes and purses, were less then $50LaLas. Get out to ETD before the sale ends, endure the lag, it is more then worth it. The great Orange Butterfly Necklace, which serves to balance out the one-sided ponytail, is from *i-Candy*. I love the triple strand, and the ties in the back, really great detail there. The Triple Hoop Blet! (not a misspelling) is from ~First Flower~, the shine worked well with the -Tesla- 'Diva' Heels in Black, and it is a great added element at the waist. Spike Bands from WRONG give the look a little edge, along with some great Oldskool tattoos from TRUTH. A Nose Stud from Tickled Pink, and great Tunnel Multi Set Earrings from Drifting Sands finish off my fancy pants accents.

So getting back to my point about not editing my shots. This amazing hair from :bijou:, called Rene, was one I picked up at the preview of the new bijouholic SIM. It officially opens on November 11th, but I was lucky to be added to the access list for the brief preview window. I really love this style, the side ponytail, and the twisted ropes of hair across the back pf the wig, the swept bangs are nice too. The texture and shine is really well done. You will see some grey streaks across my face and to the side of the ponytail, those are the ends of the prims, and they are less visible on the lighter colours and in general, when I don't have my full facelight on. I could likely go in and try to edit them to make them transparent, but they really didn't bother me enough to not say how great this one style is and show it to you. I think it is pretty great, and so are the new releases in-store. I picked up a pile of amazing while there, I hope to share some of it soon. Eyes are from Karamia, and lashes are from [Detour].

The Modest Silks

Silks are a tricky business. There are lots of fabulous silks out there, every colour imaginable, some scripted, some adorned, and some purely prim creations. But the most common feature is that they are very baring. When we have "Saturday Silks" events on occasion at PIN UPS, I always try to wear new silks, but I am not personally comfortable revealing to much skin, call me silly, I know it's just my avatar, but I am a modest person, and it just isn't my thing, it's on of the reasons I don't blog very much lingerie, which I own in truck-loads, for me personally, that is private. In any case, one of the best solutions for a modest yet sexy silks look, is this great set of Red India Silks from *Solange*. By no means inexpensive, the silks from *Solange*, sometimes labeled The Silk Raven (TSR), are worth the price for all the amazing extras they include, jewelry, multiple layer options, long or short prim silk skirts, and different sheerness layers. The colour selection is perhaps the most difficult decision you will have to make, which includes metal accent options, as the selection is extensive. *Solange* also offers other items, some really sexy dresses, and the men's silks are incredibly well made too. This India set comes with this great modest tied system skirt, I love the dangling coin texture cutouts. The singlet on the forehead is low prim, being more of an alpha texture image, but still really lovely. You can also purchase an optional add-on pack with additional traditional prim scarf skirt options.



I never wear shoes with silks, it just doesn't look right to me, so I opted for bare feet here, and went heavy on the accessories. I started with some bangles, these stacks were an in-store gift at Zaara Indian Couture, and I believe they are still available. I wore the orange set, then modified them, selecting all the orange bracelets and tinted then a dark red to match the silks. I rarely wear belly charms, but decided my exposed tummy needed a little something-something, and went with a simple ruby dangle bead from All That Glitters, there doesn't seem to be an in world location that I can find however, so I have no idea how long i have had it. Going with the ethnic themed accessories, I brought in this fabulous pair of earrings from {JUNK}, the Crescent Moon Chandelier Earrings have great intricately curved prims filling out the crescent moon shape. I also pulled in the Gold Florina Ring from (Shiny Things), I love the hammered look of the metal, the center pearl, details that would escape most unless you took a really close up look, but it is precisely the details that take my breath away. It may be a world of pixels and prims, but the talent of some creators, their efforts to bring touches of reality to our cartoon world, is astounding.



This amazing Wild Orchid hair from EXILE is completely stunning, I love attending Expo shows for this reason above all, the discovery of as yet unknown (to me) content creators. This hair is a wonderful tousled updo, with great pieces falling over the forehead and to the side, but the best part is the exceptional sculpted orchid that is scripted to touch, you can select the colour of orchid to match your look, and as with all modifiable hair, you can even remove the orchid if you wish (as my sister Anessa did). Skin is Celestial Studios Charmed Line, the smokey eyed Red-Dusk make-up adds some drama. Love lashes are from [Detour], and Hazel Eyes from Karamia. Altogether a sexy look, and the best way to go if you want to wear silks and keep a little bit left up to the imagination.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

In RL, I have the kind of thick, long, wavy hair that does not enjoy humidity. I can straighten it, put in lots of product, and 5 minutes after I walk out the door, it pretty much turns into a frizzed curly mass. This is the reason you will usually find my with my hair in a ponytail or bun, or twisted into a clip (if I can find one big enough to hold all my hair). During our recent "Rainy Days" Event at PIN UPS, it was time to pull out the Umbrellas, Rain Boots, and Trench Coats. I decided to go with what suits that rainy day, hair that curls into ringlets on the ends, and I knew I had it with this fabulous Rita hair from *Crimson + Clover*. This is literally what my hair looks like on a rainy day, I simply adore the texture here, the curls look so real, it has serious cute factor. So glad I discovered it at the Hair Fair, and what makes this style even more brilliant is the adorable hair clips which are part of the wig, and scripted so that you can wear them with the stars or without, and change the colour of each barrette individually, stars included, for endless combinations and versatility. This hair has made me put *Crimson + Clover* on my places to shop next list.



I had been waiting to wear this Verde Lima Trenchcoat from {Gisaci} for some time, particularly because I adore this shade of green. It is fresh and fun, and I do love my bright colours. I paired it with a simple but great pair of leggings from Fashionably Dead, I have said it before but it bears repeating, they are a brilliant wardrobe staple. The ShinyShiny Magic Pants come in both pant and undies layer versions, and come with a light silvery grey base that is easily tintable to work with any colour palette you have. The were a steal and a half, low price and versatility making them must haves in my book, and one of my most worn articles of clothing. I love these RetroStars Rain Boots from Urban Bomb Unit. A gift to me from my sister Anessa, they are just too fun, and have great colours in the star decoration that I pulled out to use in the tint of the pants and the hair clips. I love that the stars motif on the boots are echoed in the hair clips. If you are going to own an umbrella in-world, the best I have found is this amazing UNbrella from (Shiny Things). I purchased the grey, and as it is mod, it can be tinted up to any colour you like. What is great about it is the scripting, with a click, the umbrella rains on the inside, so you can take the weather with you. A sweet pair of Blue Cube Earrings from .+*aya V.*+. polish off the look.



This skin is a really great offering from Celestial Studios Charmed Line, the Gold 2 make-up. I love the glittery gold eyes, really fun and flashy, not for every-day wear, but definitely a great occasional look. Love Lashes are from [Detour], and big soft Hazel Eyes are from -Karamia-.

Wigging Out

So this will be my first post including the new hair I nabbed since braving the Hair Fair, and from this point on, you can expect to see pretty much every wig I bought there. I surfed most of it on a box with my best friend Trixi, which was a riot. Well worth the 10 hours for the people watching alone. I spent $9000LaLas Easy, Got 28 Full Price Wigs, 18 that give 50% to Locks of Love (Wish there were more of those), and Dozens of Freebies! Even without a scanner or an attachment of any kind, I still bumped into lots of people I know... Loved that! This Curious Kitties Betoki Hair was actually the last wig I purchased, I love the colour, the texture, and the messy wind-blown style, equal parts sexy and sassy. This skin is perhaps still my favorite of all time, my second premium skin purchase and my first from Celestial Studios. AT the time I was very hesitant to switch, but after wearing the Demo to a "Demo Night" Event at PIN UPS, I was ready to make the change. I choose this Earth 4 make-up as it mas most like the make-up I wore in RL. My favorite Lashes are these Love Lashes from [Detour], they look long and not too heavy for everyday looks. Eyes are from Karamia, a lovely large Hazel Eye.



This great Sweater Dress from WigWamBam came in a review folder sometime last week, and I had seen it blogged often, along with the tights that came with it. I decided to mix it up a bit, for a personal spin, adding a pair of Gold Metallic Tights from Armidi Limited, as I love wearing leggings or tights with a Mini dress. These boots are long-time favorites from Maitreya, the Boot-alicious can be worn as a short boot, or with the slouched leg-warmer style on the ankle, which comes in a number of colour options. I opted to pull in a great purse, this Cube Hand Bag from .+*Atelier AM*+. came in a pack with three design options, I always love pulling in a purse to my Look Of The Day if I can.



This great trio of Studs Bangles is also by aya Huldshinsky of .+*Atelier AM*+. and .+*aya V.*+., and comes in a variety of colour options. Something different, and precisely the kind of bracelet I like to wear with bare arms. Dragon Earrings from *UnTone* round out the outfit, I have worn these before, but this is the first time I realized why they are named as such, there is a lovely golden dragon on the large bead at the bottom of the dangle, really well made, and the set comes with a lower prim version as well. If you are a Wig Addict like I am, you can look forward to watching me wig out in the next few weeks trying to wear all my new hair.

Good Morning Sunshine...

The moment I saw this amazing Tee on the Feeds, I HAD to have one. The Karamia Rising Sun Tee is simply brilliant, with it brilliant use of both sculptie and flexi prims. I love the way the sleeves are scrunched and rolled, and the belly is tied up with these exquisite long laces. They move amazingly when walking or dancing, and it just is so well textured, I am impressed. It comes in half a dozen other wonderful colours, but this warm bright Citrus orange caught my eye immediately.

I choose to wear these fabulous Blue Suede Pants from Celestial Studios, I love them, the options that come in the folder are too great to pass up, with 3 different looks in one, a great value. I adore pants with Prim Cuffs, no jagged weird looking pant hems with skin coloured bases, yuck-o! I was thrilled to come upon these amazing Supernova sandals at Shiny Things this week, after I saw the blogged by Gracianna McMillan over at On Your Toes. I adore this Sunset shade, and what could go better then a Sunrise Tee then Sunset Shoes.

This hair is a lovely high volume crowned glory from Muism called Cheryl, very cute I think. I am wearing eyes from Freak Fantasia, and Detour Love Lashes. This skin is biancaF.'s newest make-up, fabulous for so many reasons, but I love the Lip Colour and the Silvery White Shadow in the inner corner of the eye. Called acrilik, it may be my favorite yet.



I accessorized this look with a fabulous casual bag from Pampered Princess, with all the colours in it's Beaded and embroidered texture, this bag can go a long way. I threw on my Chunky Heart Necklace, from Miam Miam, always a great choice for accessories with touch to change metal options. And for even more options, these amazing Copper Sculpted Sugar Gem Bangles from Fresh Baked Goods, with 12 Gem Tone Options, here set to Ceylon. I can't wait till those gals get their butts in gear and open up their shop, I hear Friday may be the day!

Around The World...

A little trip around the world with this look, a lot like home. I started off with the Armidi Limited Denim Cotton Jumpsuit in Black, and built a look around it. My sister Anessa lent me her fabulous Rubba Boots from Storm Schmooz, and they are the first stop on my world-wide jaunt. With the face of Che Guevara on the boots, an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, I started my worldwide trek on the right foot. I picked up the pink print in the boot in this fabulous Pink Vinil [sic] Jacket from MG Fashion's London Calling Collection. I have worn this on before and love the shine on the vinyl so much, it is a really nicely made jacket. So from Argentina, to London, and finally hitting Japan, with these adorable Jpop Can Earrings from Canimal. They are fashioned after Japanese soda cans, so darn cute!

The Wig I am travelling in is some NEWNESS from Diversity Hair, and I picked it up on the day it was introduce for 75% off the normal price, this is the new Tippi style on Crowe Black, and it is really sweet. Aleri Darkes always reduces the price of one random colour pack on her new releases, and I was lucky that it was again in my pack of choice. Get into that subscribe-o-matic update group so you can get in on the great prices! I am rocking more of the fabulous Canimal Essence skins, the skin tone is Grace and the make-up is called Poison. I always mod the lip tints just a bit, and I love that Canimal Zephyr had given me that option with her skins. I am wearing some funky lashes from Lynnix's Lashes, with dotted tips for a little bit of drama.

Last but certainly not least, this fabulous purse I got way back in the day, simply called the Record Purse. It is by Nicoletta Giovinazzo and I couldn't find the shop again, but she may still sell them somewhere. I just love it, being a DJ and music fan, and think it is just adorable. As records go round and round and eventually come to an end, so did my little trip around the world.

A Sundress On A Dolly

I usually shop during daylight PST, heading out on my own with a list I have made from watching the blogs or going to stores I love that need a re-visit. Sometimes I am able to get my man to follow me on my fashion jaunts, having him grid hop with me as I shop, and when I do, I occasionally let him choose the colour of the outfit I am getting. This dress is the result of just such a trip to Ivalde, where I asked Draco to pick what colour of the lovely Yvette dress I would buy. It's a pretty safe bet, he has great taste, knows mine, and I pretty much loved it in every colour. This Violet one is a real spring-like pop of colour, and I think he did a great job!

I choose this sweet wig from ETD to pair with the breezy sweet dress, I really have not found a single style from ETD that I don't love, I think this Xaria style is cute, but not overly so, and still looks womanly. This is another of the Essence (Grace) skins from Canimal, this make-up is called Poise, and again I really like the shading of it, particularly the cheek bone which is subtly contoured, and gives more depth to the complexion. I am wearing eyes from Karamia in Hazel, and for the first time on my blog, the Cake Separated Lashes, which are quite pretty.

Not many accessories, but I must say I do love this Freja Purse from Bare Rose Tokyo. It is really nicely sculpted and shaded, and comes in 2 shapes (Round shown here), and 3 carry points (Shoulder, Forearm, Hand). It is a really nice staple bag, and with 6 options for one very low price, really worth picking up in the Bare Rose Couture section. When it comes to shoes, I must admit I have very few from Periquita, but when I saw Erpla Prieto's Newest release, I thought it was time to pick some up, I was on my way to do so, when Erpla arrived on Retrology to talk to us about moving her shop from the Obscure Finds Fleamarket to a Proper shop on the SIM. When I complimented Erpla on her shoes, she dropped fat-packs of all her new Dollys shoes on me. Lucky Lucky Me, but Erpla has always been so generous since the days before she really sold her shoes and I ran into her on Retrology and she asked me to look at her shoes and tell her what I thought, still have that pair too. These are the Wrap Me Up Dollys in Purple. A very sweet shoe indeed.

I decided to wear one simple piece of Jewelry that means a lot to me, last year during the Relay For Life campaign, I picked up a set of 5 bands from Funk-O-Rama, each different colour with a unique slogan aimed at Cancer Awareness. This purple band reminds us of the tears of children. I thought it was pretty much all I needed to wear. I have to say, as much as I love shopping, there is nothing more rewarding then shopping for a cure. Hope everyone feels the same way. Now, off for a bit of... shopping, what else!

Green To The Nines

What with St. Patricks Day on Monday, and all the Green Available Now, I am having a delicious time over-indulging in my favorite colour of all. But just because it's green doesn't mean it's for me, and I have seen a lot of 'Green Don'ts' this week in SL. Let's face it, making something fluorescent green does not make it a must have for St. Patty's or any other day.*lolz*

When I was asked to fill in DJ for some of the Opening of "LeeZu Baxter Designs" new "To The Nines" SIM, I was thrilled, and spun away happily for almost 3 hours, the whole time dying to get into the store so I could load up on more goodies! When I finally was able to ambulate over, through the lag of the LeeZu Fans there to do the same, I saw this adorable dress and of course, it is that perfect shade of Green Yumminess for me. The "Vaugn" Flexi dress can be purchased with add-ons like different flexi skirts and shruggy capes and all sorts of fabulous colour options, but I liked the simplicity of the main dress so very much. The texturing and details, like these bronze buttons, are really nicely done. I also picked up these brilliant 'Anna' stockings, that come in a pack of a dozen or so springlike colour options, that can be matched with the dress or practically anything else you own. I love that they are slightly un-even, and look so casual.

This Amazing bag is one of Elika's newest from "ETD Accessories" and gosh it was hard to choose just one! This amazing 'Brown Croc - City Handbag' just looked too delicious to pass up. Again, more of the fabulous hair from "Philotic Energy", this adorable 'Niela' style had colour scripted flowers, and is just so fresh and spring-like. I am truly thrilled with the range of style I am finding at "PE", and can't wait for new releases!

I had this adorable 'Chocolate Ring' from "KUROTSUBAKI", a valentine's group gift, and it is seriously adorable and such a nice little trinket. I have a confession, I horde freebies, and rarely even look at most of them once collected, never-mind sort them and wear them, but this one was love at first sight. I thought these nice earthy brown 'Vixen' Boots from "Frangipani Designs" worked well with the lawn greens in this look, and love the name of this colour 'VooDoo'! An awesome bracelet set from "Shiny Things" finishes off this look nicely I think, this the 'Hippie Deluxe' in Brown. This look is a 'Green Do' that will survive the post St. Patty's season, and I could not be more gleeful!

Shutter Buggin' Baby!

Sometimes you build an outfit from the Shoes up, and that is what I did with this look. I wanted to wear shoes by Onyx LeShelle of "Maitreya", who recently discovered she too was a victim of content theft and that her delicious 'Slinky Stiletto' Shoes were ripped off. Onyx, who must have been crushed by this discovery, quickly set out her Originals as Freebies, saying that she would rather give them away then have people allow a Thief to Profit. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to work on perfecting a shoe, a skin, a design, and have it ripped by some individual whose only contribution to the SL Community is one of Cold Calculated Theft and Profiting from the hard work and creativity of others. We do not need these people in our Second Lives; they contribute nothing and are spineless, hidden behind ALT Accounts and Quickly Shifting IP Addresses. If you have not done so already, please make sure you add your name to the list of individuals who have voted for the JIRA SVC-1446 and make sure the Lindens take some actions to help stop this ongoing crisis in SL.

While everyone is likely to jump on the opportunity to grab up some Fabulous Free Shoes from "Maitreya", please don't just go for the Freebies, Onyx has some amazing designs in her store, and she deserves some recognition for her amazing contributions to SL Fashion. If you see something else you love while there, and have the lindens, give a little back and make a purchase too.

So here are the amazing "Maitreya" Dessert Boots, I love the un-done sculptie laces; I think they are simply brilliant. I paired it with these great jeans from "Karamia" that I nabbed on my last trip to the 'Cherry Buttons' Shopping Village, and this Fab NEW Tank from "PBI" which is so fantastic, coming in both Shirt and Jacket layers, with a tucked-in version (worn) and colour splash options in each pack making it really like a dozen tops for the price of just one. I threw on a bra underneath it, cause this look felt so grunge that it needed a little extra something-something in the details! I picked up these cool knit arm warmers on my last stop into "Argyle", a shop I can't wait to see more from. This hair is, believe it or not... a Dollarbie! Yep, "TRUTH" is offering this adorable 'Berri' as a Dollarbie, but seriously, it is as fabulous as any of their regularly priced styles and definitely worth grabbing on your next stop, besides, they just celebrated an anniversary, and have lots of NEWNESS for you to check out while there. Oh, before I forget, this amazing scarf from "=CREAMSHOP=" is just too cute, I really do love their detailed Prim Work in their Jewelry and Accessories, and this is one of my favorites. A scarf like this can pull any look together, and I just felt like I was ready to hit to Fashion Show circuit and snap away!

Over-All Fabulous!

I have been looking for a great cute pair of overalls in SL forever! So far the ones I have found are either too "Down on The Farm" or made for Pregnant AV shapes (don't even get me started on that). But the other day, while checking out the new 'Cherry Buttons' Shopping District I happened into "*UnTone Quilt*" and saw these babies... I didn't even have to think twice about it, and gladly forked over the Lindens. When I got home, I threw them on, and then came the Dilemma, they are cut low on the side, and the straps are jacket layer, so how do I wear a shirt layer something under them and then cover my hips too?

I have made my own 'Key Hole Thermals' for "HANG THE DJ!" that address this issue, and come in the 'tucked' version, but the Key Hole didn't look right with this. So I began to open folder after folder until 'Lo And Behold'... Perfection! This sweater from "Pushbutton Industries" called the 'Cold Comfort' has the tucked and un-tucked layers, so I could wear it under the overalls and still wear the Jacket layer overall straps... JOY! Not only that, but it comes in a plain version as well as one with the stripe down the front, with Prim collar and cuffs, it's like a miracle in a folder! My husband Draco loved it so much, noting that "it looks like you can actually touch it and feel the cable knit", that he went and picked it up in two colours for himself, yes men can wear this one too! Some casual hair from "ETD" was just what I needed to go with this fun look, and since a belt would have looked silly, I was thrilled to be able to finally wear this great 'Fanny Pack' from "Yummy". I love the little charms on the zipper pulls, details like this make me giddy, just look at that flying pig! Some sleek boots from "INSOLENCE" wrap the leg nicely and with the 'Capri' layer of the overall pants, there are no pant edges poking out from the boot (a personal pet peeve). Love my "/artilleri/" eyewear, and have all of Antonia's glasses in fatpack since the colours are always amazing, these 'Paula' glasses in Teal pick up nicely on the colouring in the sweater.

Anchors Away Me Mates!

As you have all noticed by now, I make multiple posts to my blog on most days. This is not because I sit around my loft thinking up outfits for the sole purpose of blogging them. I usually have one outfit I piece together and wear as a "Look Of The Day", for shopping or visiting friends, and then as the Events get started at my club, PIN UPS, I have to change into Event Specific Costumes. So yes, I actually do wear these looks, for at least a few hours, and I am usually logged solidly (barring crashes) for about 10 hours a day, sometimes more... g-d help me!

Yesterday we had one of our classic events, the "Anchors Away" Party... and that's when we all get Nauti, er, Nautical. I have worn this look before for the same event, but had never blogged it, but since it is one of my favorites, and features a complete look from one of my favorite designers in SL, I thought it was time to give it a moment in the Sun. The Bikini Top, Skirt, Tattoos, and even this fabulous Sculptie Hat all come in a set called 'Nautical Waste' from "Winter Moon". It is PIN UP Fabulous! I love the fullness of the skirt, and if you look close at the hat, you can see that they carefully textured it to mirror the logo into the Patent Leather Brim. I love details like that. The Tats are a bonus, and are placed so you can see them, but come in undershirt layer in case they are not your thing, so you can leave them out. I decided to wear some Fishnets with it, these from "Celestial Studios" 'LuLu' Line which come in a pack of three colours on tone, so I selected the Gray Pack to get the black pair too, Fishnets are a tricky business in SL, the system elements play havoc when you go from foot to leg, and often cause a weird stretch effect, but I think these are well done in order to compensate for that problem. And yes, my 'ChiChi' shoes from "Maitreya" come in handy once again, as I own them in Black and White. I know they will be put to good use with all the Rim Colour Options. I can never do sexy looks without a little kitsch, so these fab Retro Eyeglasses from "/artilleri/" really funk up this look!

Working My Cute!

So after Valentine's, after the Ball Gowns and Sexy Lingerie, and all the rest of it, I needed to escape back to cute. This look has to be one of my favorites, and yes, I love my Avatar, but seeing myself in this outfit that I pieced together from a pile of NEWNESS in my closet, all I can say is I "How Cute Am I?".

This is the way I love to dress; it is a look I built one piece at a time starting with these fabulous pants from "KUROTSUBAKI", which also come with a skirt version. So there I was with the pants on, and wondering what top could I wear with them, and I tried on a few, but the minute I tried this "Thimbles" 'P is for Pauline' Sweater I went... Ooooh YES! Ok, shirt and pants covered, lets see what else I can pull out, some socks were required, and these from "MG Fashion" in this delicious dark Eggplant colour were just the thing, again, having a FATPACK of socks like these is always a good move. So there I was, cute matching socks and now I needed to settle the hair issue, looking in my NEW HAIR folder, I spotted this style from "*0 Style*" that I picked up on a whim. Hella cute right? Yep Yep... I know! All that needed now was the finishing touches, a few accessories and I was set to go... this Bangle from "Naughty Designs" finally got some use, I love it but hadn't gotten a chance to wear it yet. Then I remembered this sweet little pocket book from "+MimiEden+" I picked up on my last trip to Cotton Candy Mall, I was all set to buy it, but found out it was a freebie, how cool is that! The thing that brings this look all together however, is the fabulous 'Ziggy Boot' from "Tesla" which has both the Brown and the Purple tones in them. This look is just the thing I needed to "Work My Cute".
