Riddle Me This...

On a recent trip to the Starlust Motel, I stumbles for the first time into Dog Town, I have no idea why I had never been before, but I was so happy to have found it. I particularly love finding new stores, new to me in any case. When I found **[Riddle]**, I was ecstatic. I love rock girl clothes, stuff that I can wear when I DJ, stuff I would happily wear in RL, and this store had that and more in Spades! It started with this great Plaid Shorts and Bikini Top set in Grey, so cute, with a real Gwen Stefani Badass feel to it. I was also drawn to this adorable red Guitars T-Shirt, since my man plays the Guitar, it made it an easy choice. If you have never been to **[Riddle]**, you must go, they have some seriously adorable stuff, a lot with Rock or Retro Sensibilities, and so much fun.

I always take every opportunity to wear my absolute favorite casual shoes, these great EnvYou Strapped Chucks, I have then in every colour they come in, about 8, and I love wearing them. The heel makes them girly and a bit sexy, but they also look like the practical Chucks that everyone loves. I wanted to wear some accessories with a lot of fun factor, and one that I have had for a while is this -[Kalico Kreations]- Cute Kitty Wallet, with adorable Flexi Dollar Bills in it. I also love this Rockabilly Cigar Box Purse from Caroline's, love that is contains the most impractical items ever, and kitsch is the clincher for me. I am also wearing some adorable Cassette Tape Earrings from Electric Jane's, a shop with lots of fun do-dads and wearables. The stacks of Jelly Bracelets are from Overdose & Punk by Proxy, and they are just the perfect casual accessory for this look.



This great short style is new from *Muism*, Mika is a sweet shaggy bob, really cute. This skin is a new favorite from Quelita Soon or *QS*, the Milk Skin in Dark 001, a lovely red lip and highlighted eye. Eyes are the expressive Miriel Hazel Eyes, with Photoshoot Lashes from MMS.

Rockin' The Shockin' Pink!

I love clothes that are a look all on their own, something you can just throw some accessories behind and walk out the door. When the Starlust Motel had their opening, I gleefully shopped in almost every shop on the SIM. When I stumbled into the KUROTSUBAKI room, I was wowed. I hadn't been keeping tabs on their work for a bit, and when I saw this yummy shocking pink Tsunagi jumpsuit, it was an instant YES! Really simple, sexy sexy, and a really great summer look. I love the button detail on the pockets, the nicely finished sleeves, and the prim short legs, all very well textured. Now all I needed was some accessories to make the look my own.

I started with a belt, this *Muism* Double Zip Belt ads a lot of interest, and the flexi parts that extent past the waist are really interesting. I picked up this mega-customizable bag from Kimberly Casanova, the Girlfriend Bag in Zebra is scripted 9 ways, so you can select the colour of just about every part of the bag, there are thousands of possible combinations, but I stuck with pink and turquoise mainly. I knew that the perfect shoe for this look was the adorable Stiletto Moody Bitch Bootie in Pucci Pace Print. You can seriously match these shoes with dozens of outfits, the colours in them are really lovely. I was thrilled to finally pull on this adorable necklace from ::69::, who doesn't love the Love Necklace? Really nice use of Sculpties here. I also opted for this cute ::69:: Sprinkles Bracelet for a cute touch, it is a Freebie item, I believe still available in-store.



I wanted a wig with volume, so I went into my Mirai folder and pulled out this awesome huge .+*Luci*+. style in White. I can always count on Mirai for some serious bombshell hair, this one reminds me a lot of Brigitte Bardot. The skin is another new one from bianca F., a treat for me since I love green so very much, this Fata 2 Forest Make-Up really adds a nice dash of colour. Catwalk Lashes are from MMS, and these great deep luminous Splatter eyes are from Big Booty Big Money, which I believe is no longer in it's former ENVY location, but I have a hunch will turn up again soon. *wink*

KISS - Keep It Simple Style

Every now and again, I turn my back on all the high-fash stuff, and go for a simple everyday look, something that I would actually wear in RL. I am a jeans addict, one of my very first posts was a "What's In My Closet - Them Jeans" post, where I laid my addiction out for all to see. I counted 135 pairs back in December of 2007, and there were some I could not even fit into the pictures nicely, so I left them out. Since then, I have probably bought another 40 pair, maybe more. This pair, from Last Call, was the last purchase I made before Last Call was no more. I am so glad I got them, there are really something, and a great illustration of what made Last Call and Ginny Talamasca & Co. so amazing. I am sorry to say they are no longer available, but I do treasure them.

The rest of the look flowed easily for me, a great T-Shirt from Tres Blah!, this one is Stripy Goodness in Purple, is wonderful for it's calculated simplicity. A belt from *KUROTSUBAKI*, one of my newer favorites, is adorable, with it's Peace Sign Hippie kitsch vibe. A great bag from Bare Rose Tokyo Couture, The Diana Bag, echoes the Blues in the jeans nicely. (Shiny Things) provides some of the best flats on the Grid, and gave me some adorable casual options with these Brocattos Flats. Necklace and Bracelet, purchased separately, are also from (Shiny Things). These Nico pieces are so nicely detailed, the textures are amazing on the beads.



I have had this adorable Daisy braided style from [Curio] for ages, and since I buy new hair on a weekly basis, I sometimes forget to pull out some of my favorites from the past. The lovely flex on the braids is so cute, I love the bangs too, very sweet. Skin is from bianca F., called Drama, another make-up I love. Eyes are from [Detour], and Lashes from MMS.

Hide & Seek

I don't find buckers naked sexy, I don't mean tasteful nudes, I mean full on in your face "here's my bits"! To me, sexy is more about what you hide then what you show, and hiding a lot and showing a little is sometimes the most tempting of looks. This outfit is all about showing a little, hiding a little, and being a total Fashion Diva. Let's start at the top with this Vanessa Hair from MMS in Pitch Black. A previous group gift, what I like about it is that it let's me peek out from behind sleek straight pieces. This fantastic skin from bianca. F is called Mask quite appropriately, with a sweep of smokey shadow over the bridge of the nose, it adds drama and artistry. Eyes are Freak Fantasia's Glassy Mustard Green, framed by [Detour] Love Lashes.

Hiding a little, and revealing just enough with sexy glimpses of the soft sides of the torso and smooth shoulders is this stunning Le Fashionable Python outfit from [MG Fashion]. I love a hot little mini-skirt, that lets a whole lot of leg show, particularly when your legs are clad in Stiletto Moody's NEW Gladiator Boot. I had a chance to model these when they were beta versions, and wore them in this month's issue of Vain Inc. Magazine and I was patiently waiting for them to be mine. Stiletto dropped a pair on me after release, and I could not be more thrilled with them. They are so well done, textures are lovely, and the sculpted pieces are used ingeniously to wrap and caress the leg, drawing the eye up the leg with delicious cut-outs revealing small glimpses of soft smooth skin. If I didn't have to blog and therefore change my outfits on a daily basis, I might be caught wearing them every day.



Accessories are sleek and minimal, with these ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Copper Coloured Sculpted Sugar Bangles, which I touch scripted to Onyx Gems. I am wearing the Diamonde. Gillian Ring, that I once again tinted, this time to a copper orange colour, and think it goes perfectly with this look. Finally, this great simple clutch served me well on my trip to the RFL Fashion Expo 2008, where I spent as much as I possibly could. It is the PV Portfeuille ‘Oceane’ Black by Precious Vukovic, but I was unable to find a current in-world location.

No Shrinking Violet

When the Invitation to the Vain Inc. Magazine Anniversary Celebration arrived, the dress code was "Informal Black & White Ball". I own a lot of Black, and a lot of white, but as we were there for a fashion show first, then a party after, I wanted a classic simple look, something that could work at the office, at a cocktail party, or a night on the town. Miko Omegamu of *ICING* never lets me down. The quality of her work has increased exponentially since I first discovered her shop, and this Femme em Noir Dress is no exception. It is so classic, modern, yet timeless, and the dragonfly pin on the chest is included and really makes this look complete. Not only is it wonderful as a dress, but you could easily use the top or skirt separately in another look.

To complete the look, I chose a pair of bangles from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ a NEW shop opening on Retrology in the next few days. I am really excited to see what else will be released, but if this fabulous Sculpted Sugar Silver Gem Bangle Set is any indication of what's to come, I will be parked on their doorstep! These bangles come in a set of 2 (Left & Right) and the Gemstones are Colour Scripted to change to one of 12 Gem Tones. I set this pair to Onyx, but they looked equally lovely in diamond or even pink sapphire. I love jewelry with scripted options. Sweetie Pye, one of the three owners of ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, tells me that they will be selling for $100LaLas a Set, and also available in Gold and Copper tones. I although I didn't want to take extra prims to the Fashion Show, in studio I did throw on this great bag I found OnRez, called the Ruffled Handbag by Urid Dal, very pretty sculpted shape, and a reasonable size. The fabulous Silver StudSides Pumps from Stiletto Moody are beyond fabulous, a very sexy shoe, and it is remarkable classy as well. Also wearing my Gimcrack engagement ring by Caroline's Jewelry.



I am wearing the Ivory-Fata-Base Skin from biancaF. that I love, with [Detour] Love Lashes, and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes from Freak Fantasia. This fabulous Hair was the free preview gift from MM Skins, called the Venessa, this is the Pitch Black Version. When I put it on, my husband Draco immediately remarked, "You Look Like That Violet Girl from the Incredibles Movie". Well, I may look like Violet... but I am no shrinking violet, not by a long shot.

Sisters In Style - A Detour to JE*Republic

Sisters tend to share things, clothes, make-up, jewelry, magazines, and even sometimes living space. Anessa Stine, my RL Identical Twin sister and I were not so great at the sharing things growing up, We had different tastes in men, clothes, music, and we had separate bedrooms from the time we were 6 years old. She was into 'New Kids On Block' and I loved my 'Guns N' Roses', what can I say, polar opposites in most ways.

In SL, Anessa and I do share, we share ideas, we share a passion for fashion and for the SIM we manage, Retrology. And we share HOT TIPS! When we discover something NEW and FABULOUS on the GRID, there is an immediate IM and a "Come Here NOW!", and a TP. Yesterday was just such a day. Anessa learned about "Detour" from GoGoLita's Blog and headed over, sending me a TP so I could come look at her try on skins. I ended up with shoes, eyes, and hair at "Detour". Late last night, I happened on "JE*Republic" for the first time while looking for purses to include in my upcoming article for 'Vain Inc. Magazine'. I was giddy and TP'd Anessa in, and so we thought, lets give this cute boutique a little moment in the SL sun.

I am in hair from "JE*Republic in both shots, the sleek "Bobbed Hair", and an adorable messy bun called 'Boyish Hair'. All 4 of the dresses pictured are from "JE*Republic". I choose the "Black Suede Dress", which reminded me a bit of some of my early 'Paper Couture’, looks, and is a great Little Black Dress Option, and I teamed it with these great 'Tuxedo Pumps' from "Shiny Things". I also chose the more relaxed 'Red Wine Dress’, which I paired up with some great "Armidi Gisaci" Platform Sandals. The Stacked Wood Bangles I am wearing are from a shop in the same mall as "JE*Republic" called "Atelier AM".

Anessa is wearing her new "Detour" Skins in 'Tatiana', and one of their wigs, the sweet 'Junebug' in Midnight. Anessa chose this adorable 'Black Spangle Dress', which is sweet and girlie and reminds me of dresses we both wore to "Semi-Formal" events as teenagers back in the 80s, and paired it with these sexy slouch stiletto boots from "Storm Schmooz". She also picked up this adorable 'Blue Jean Dress' at "JE" and it again echoes the 80s look, which is really coming back around again (just look at the legwarmers people!), and threw on her fabulous NEW Maitreya 'Golden Velvet' ChiChis. Week 9: Flickr SL - Look Of The Day Winner!

A few days behind schedule, but good things are worth the wait! Here is the Winner for Week 9 of the Second Life - Look Of The Day Weekly Contest. Bells Semyorka has submitted several great looks to the pool, but this one really caught my eye. I am looking out my window at 6 feet of snow in the Toronto Suburbs, and Bells' look made me feel like summer may actually just be around the corner. YAY!

This look pulls together the work of some of the most popular content creators in SL, and does it in a really clean crisp way. Sleek hair and great shades from "Naughty Designs" really add the look of the Hamptons to this sassy shorts outfit. I love these Gold shorts from "Elephant Outfitters" on the Armidi SIM, and may just dash over and brave the lag to pick them up for myself. I love the pairing of the animal print top from "/artilleri/" with the gold shorts, this combination of animal print and metallic is very fashion forward and all over the runways this spring. These fabulous "Armidi Gisaci" Shoes, the 'Dhali Bow Platforms' bring in some nice warmth, and I already own them in 3 colours myself. They are brilliant, and strappy platform sandals are very big this coming season. Bells is right on the money with this look, it is Clean, Understated, and Ooozes Fashionista Cred. Well Done!

What's In My Closet: Second Mirage

While struggling to find my passion for fashion again, I choose to Participate in the "Second Mirage Flickr Fantastic" Contest and display my entire collection of "Second Mirage" Jewelry. I personally felt that "Second Mirage" could represent Every Woman, regardless of Social Status, Race, Background, and could work into a wardrobe of unique personal style. I let the Jewelry speak to me, tell me who would wear it, and then created 23 Unique Looks for each and every piece. All these "Looks" are part of who I am... and the shape in my original shape, no mods were done what-so-ever. WEEK 2: Flickr SL - Look Of The Day Winner!

This weeks winner is December Dollinger's "Look Of The Day" from January 4h,2008. Well presented it is an adorable ensemble that addresses one of the most important things that fashion can do for us, lift the spirits. December choose bright colours and sweet prints to "Pep" Thing Up. I love her choice of accessories too, a sweet purse and some fab shoes... who wouldn't feel great in this look! As always, it met all my criteria for a "Look Of The Day" winner, all the details are clearly spelled out in the description/comments so anyone can recreate this look or steal the bits they personally love. Old Hollywood Glamour

I have waited to wear this fabulous slinky Vintage Inspired gown forever, and decided it's time had come. I wanted a Vintage look, something 'Old Hollywood', something Screen Siren, something a bit 'Femme Fatale'. This looks is all that and so much more. The gown, by "Sideshow Vintage' is a delicious Burnt Fuchsia/Rust colour and simply sizzles. Paired with the perfect Retro Coif, this one from "Hose Queen", Hair Combs included. A Shoulder Broach with a name like 'Chatelaine' from "MUSE" is the perfect accessory, as is the bit of kitsch provided by the cigarette holder. Old Hollywood, over-the-top, what Second Life Fashion dreams are made of.
