Looking For Something Else

This post really isn't about new things, it's more about digging into my inventory and showing off things I have picked up at various events and shops, but have yet to wear. It's a summer casual look that is all about comfort, and perfect for a little walk about. While checking out My Slink Obsession, the event, I stopped to snap some pictures. I always forget that in addition to being a wonderful shopping destination, Slink West  is a really well designed SIM with lots of great spots to take pictures. I love finding new places to shoot for my blog, a little exploration is in order, but it's always fun and there is so much diversity in Second Life to celebrate.

Hair Fair - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!

It's just about time for the party to start, that party is one of the best loved mega-events in all of Second Life, the annual Hair Fair. I was lucky enough to sneak in early and get a look at the great build and all that hair, swoon much? Well, I managed to make it home with dozens of new wigs to show off, and I am going to try to show off as many as I can in the next week. I am starting with this fabu Karen wig from a new to me creator, (Milana). It's so lush and full, the gentle wave hits all the right parts, and it makes me so happy to have big hair sometimes. Venetian Class

With Summer heating things up, I found the perfect dress for travelling and flew off to lovely Venice. Not really, but I can dream. The dress however, is for real, and really the perfect thing for a summer day. The Netegli dress by ...Mutresse... is absolute perfection in one dress, and is brand spanking new at this months' FaMESHed event. You have a choice of over 10 solid colors for each of five panels (two on the bodice, three on the skirt), and another set of options for the waist tie and straps. It is a dress that can be worn in a solid color, or in stripes, as I have chosen to do. The number of possible looks is almost endless, and you can truly make it your own. Talk about Bang for Buck!

Paired with a perfectly wonderful *YS&YS*  bag I managed to snag at the Oh My Gacha Fair, and some 'new' to me hair from Vanity Hair at the Manga Fair, I was ready to take a stroll. Speaking of strolling, check out these absolutely edible high sandals from ieQED, ones I snagged at a previous 21Shoe sale. I can't wait to see what will be coming this month at the 24-hour, One Day Only Exclusive Shoe Event, where the shoes are hot, and at a 2 for one price for exclusive wowzah! Now, off to find me a sexy crooning Venetian gondolier!

Having only been to one edition of The Serafilms Event before, that being last rounds Moulin Rouge incarnation, I really was looking forward to this months event. Labyrinth is one of those films that takes me back to my teen years. My first introduction to David Bowie [there is a g-d], and the music and magic of that films still lingers. I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it. Sweet Ludo, the conflicted Hoggle, that sweet little worm, the arguing door knockers, each new character was more magical than the last. Labyrinth is a mind blowing film, Jim Henson saw to that, but this event is just as wonderful. The actual event build is an M.C. Escher style maze of twisting stairways, leading in all directions, and there is an amazing array of goodies to scoop up. The most magical thing, to my mind, an amazing Skysphere build by A.D.D.Andel!  called It's Further Than You Think. I used it for my shoot. Visit the DEMO and be awed by the details and the spot-on feel of being lost in the Labyrinth. I will let you know when I meet the Goblin King.

Walking The Line

With a fabulous pose prop from . Infiniti . I walk the line between cute and circus act with ease. The Walk The Line pose prop, a rope between two wooden stakes in the ground, is full of 15 unique and wonderful poses. Today, I am walking the line for a cause, EB.

The other exclusive in this post, this fabulous new wig from  +Spellbound+ that is only available in a special Spring color set at the EB Awareness Event, which is on now. EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) is a very rare but heartrendingly painful set of connective tissue disorders that affects many infants and children from birth onward until adulthood. If you have never heard of it, don't blame yourself, I am a trained Neonatal Nurse and had never heard of it until last year, when I was introduced to a newborn with an extreme form of the disorder. It is characterized by skin that quite literally rubs off with the slightest touch, cracks, and is open to infection in these tiny little fighters.  

As a parent, you want to comfort your child when they are in pain, imagine not being able to comfort and hold your baby because it would damage their fragile skin. We need to find answers to help these families, and help those affected to heal and live more normal lives. This is a genetic condition, so there is hope for answers in the future. Please stop by the EB Awareness Event while you can, shop, or just drop a few Linden dollars into the collection jars, every penny can help.
