It's Almost Valentine's Day, And Retrology is For Lovers! Lovers & Friends, Lovers of Fashion, and Lovers of Fun!



We Are Having A Photo Contest, Show Us How You Photograph Love on Retrology and You Could WIN!

Entries Must be submitted via the Retrology Flickr Group. And will be accepted between 12AM Wednesday, January 28th and Wednesday, February 11th at Midnight SLT. A Maximum of 10 entries will be accepted per Person (Avatar/Flickr Account). Photos must fit into any or all of the following 3 judging categories; People, Places and Fashion. Please Tag Photos With One Of The Following For Category Consideration: People, Places, Fashion. The first 2 categories are fairly self explanatory... the Fashion Category must feature clothing/hair/accessories etc. available on the Sim. (Outfits may include non-Retrology items, but Items found on the sim will be the focus of the judges - all entries in this category must list the items they are wearing in the Flickr image description.)

We will be selecting the best entries and displaying them in a gallery in 'Retrology Square' Starting February, 12th/2009. Winning Photos will be announced on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14th/2009 @ 12pm during the SIM Wide Valentine's Day Celebration. There will be a total of 10 prizes awarded. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the Categories (receiving amounts of $ 2500 L, $ 1500 L, and $ 1000 L respectively) and an overall Grand Prize Photo that will receive $ 5000 L!

You keep telling us how much you Love RETROLOGY, now it's time to show us! Our first Anniversary is less than a month away and to celebrate we want to see just what you love about Retrology. And what better way than to share your amazing, funny and inspired photos!

Entries Must be submitted via the Retrology Photo Contest Flickr Group. There Are Over 200 Members in the Flickr Group At This Time, So Join Today!

Entries will be accepted between Sunday July 13th/08 @ 00:01AM SLT and Sunday July 27th/08 @ 00:01AM SLT.

A Maximum of 10 Entries will be accepted per Avatar/Flickr Account. Photos must fit into any or all of the following 3 judging categories;

HAPPY CANADA DAY 2008!

It is no secret that I am a proud Canadian. Anyone that has ever heard one of my DJ sets had heard an awful lot of awesome CanCon (Canadian Content), I love to put the spotlight on some of the rockin' artist we have up here in the Great White North. Today I have 3 DJ Sets as part of the Retrology SIM WIDE BASH. The first was the Canada Day Barbecue Bash in the Park from 12-2, which was so fun getting goofy beside prim heavy platters of food, a smoking grill, and even a box of Tim Bits & a Roll Up the Rim Coffee from Tim Hortons. The Stanley Cup made an appearance, and it was non-stop Canadian Hits.

I will be spinning tonight in PIN UPS from 8-10PM SLT With a Canada Day Bash, Best in Red & White Contest (Natch) and Minimum $1000L to Best Guy, Gal, & Staffer in Costume. Also, we have a Canada Day Fireworks Show from 11PM-12AM SLT over the Lovers Walk Park.

On June 14th/2008, Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe Announced it's choice from the received nominations for "Best Shopping District in SL". I was unable to be at the Live Taping of the Show as we had an event going on at PIN UPS, and didn't realize I hadn't heard who won till this morning. I checked out the TONIGHT LIVE Blog to find out who won. The Nominees...

Congratulations to Best of SL Boulevard, the Judges Choice. I am thrilled that Retrology was recognized, and placed second in the votes. Mostly, we are very honored to have been among such exceptional company in the list of nominees. Retrology will be celebrating it's 1 Year Anniversary on August 3rd/2008 - And we have a lot of planning to do. We are thankful for all our Vendors, Tenants, Staff, and Patrons that together make Retrology the wonderful experience it is.

We are so thrilled to learn that our nomination of Retrology as one of the "Best Shopping District in Second Life" was accepted! We could not be more honored. This SIM is a labour of love and we feel we created something that people can feel they have discovered, there is so much to do, shopping is but one of them!

Tonight Live is a Second Life talk show hosted by Paisley Beebe. Filmed once a week since May 2006. She has three guests including one musical performance every show. Tonight Live is filmed Live to air, in Second Life in front of a packed sim at SLCN Studios (over 60 people) every Sunday at 6pm slt, and runs for 30 mins. Tonight Live is a Perfect World Production and broadcast on SLCN.TV

About Retrology:
Retrology is a very special SIM, we think we offer a unique shopping experience, Some of the Best Retro and Retro Inspired Shopping in All of SL. We have dozens of well known and celebrated content creators represented, as well as several small and lesser known vendors in our "Obscure Finds" flea market.

Our SIM is not a MegaMall Box, it is a Vibrant Village, with entertainment, recreation, and living space, but I think people come here for the shopping more then anything. We were established in August of 2007, and have had many of our Vendors with us from day one. We have special SIM wide events like Easter Egg Hunts and Mother's Day Rose Hunts, which endeavor to give something back to our visitors, and introduce ourselves to new guests.

We take great pride in being a well managed and welcoming environment, where the focus is not on merely moving merchandise, but giving guests an opportunity to stroll the shopping plaza, grab a coffee in the cafe, sit in the park, watch a movie in the theatre, enjoy the nightlife at PIN UPS Night Club, grab a Scooter and zip around the SIM, or simply explore or take pictures. We have cultivated excellent relationships with our vendors, and have several mainstore locations for some of our vendors as well as perhaps the only satellite stores for others.
