Blue Jean Junkie
I think it has been well established that I have more Jeans then anyone could ever wear, at last count about 120 pair. I had convinced myself that there would be absolutely no more denim in my future shopping lists, I even bragged to my partner Draco that there was really nothing I needed to buy ever again, having hundreds of items I have yet to even wear once, and ten-fold that number of things I have only worn once. But that was before the brilliantly talented Zaara Kohime introduced her new line of denim this week. They are just too fantastic not to own, and I had to seriously use every bit of restraint to decide on only one pair. These Zaara Jewelled Jeans in Indigo are so classic and well made, with three sculpted cuff options, and those little touched that make Zaara one of my favorite places to shop of late. The lovely gold jewelled chain over one hip make these jeans not only unique but incredibly sexy. I wanted to show off the jewelled accent on the jeans, so choose a top that revealed the details while offering a lot of style and coverage. This 1/3 of a Tee Shirt from *Thimbles* was the perfect pick, not only is it sexy, as the 1/3 Tee reveals a great tank-top beneath it, but it comes in all layer options, including the pieces individually or together on one layer.
Boots were an easy choice here, as I have been looking for another opportunity to wear these INSOLENCE Natasha Boots, here in a Violet colour that matched the aubergine of the T-Shirt well. Prim cuffs on pants make it easy to convert tall boots to go a step further by only using the shoe base parts, for a tucked under pants look. I wanted to continue with the theme of natural stones in antique looking gold settings to match the chain on the jeans, so I started with some Turquoise Natural Stone Earrings from Swallowtail. I was pleased to discover this great Vintage Heart Necklace from [Curio] in my inventory, a previous group gift. It comes in silver and gold, new and old metals, and looked really great with the high neckline of the Tee. When I was sent a review pack from Burroughs Jewellery, I remember looking at the items and thinking how pretty they all were, but not really seeing them working into my personal sense of style, that was before I realized that each and every item from Burroughs is scripted to change not only stone and gem colours, but also the metal colour and size. They are really fantastic pieces, and can work in so many ways, mixed and matched between sets, and personalized to suit your own style to a tee. Here I am wearing the Julia Ring and the Rommy Bracelet, setting the stones and metals to match the rest of the look.
The more I find in my Hair Fair folders, the more I realize just how wonderful it was to be exposed to dozens of hair designers I had never known previously. I spend thousands of LaLas there, and that was pretty painful at the time, but I have yet to find one style I have purchased that I am not instantly in love with. This *ARGRACE* Hunting Style, Chiffon Curl in the Black shade is absolutely lovely. The hair texture is incredible realistic and the alphas work nicely without the normal high-glitch factor. The hat is part of the wig, and really stylish with a scripted colour change option. My only issue is that this *ARGRACE* wig is no-mod, and comes with a re-sizer script, which is nice for making it larger or smaller, but makes it impossible to do small prim adjustments around the ears or forehead, making it necessary to wear a larger size then you might otherwise choose. A small criticism, but one I think is important for hair designers to consider. Skin is another favorite from Celestial Studios with Love Lashes by [Detour], and Hazel Eyes from Philotic Energy.

Simply Elated!
I love shopping on my own doorstep, so whenever a new vendor joins the Retrology community, I gleefully skip into their shops to see what goodies I can add to my jam packed closets. When Kellie Iwish's (Elate!) joined the SIM last week, it was another case of "Where have you been all my SLife?" The first thing I picked up was this adorable Raeva Dress, which comes in several colour variations. I love red and black together, and the fine red seams on this minidress are just so well placed. I also really love the lace panels tucked into the bodice, it adds a little bit of sexy, mimicking a glimpse of lingerie. I love a little more coverage with a cute minidress, and with cooler weather settling in, these sweet Boudoir Legs in a Red Opaque style are just the ticket. **Battered Boudoir** provides some of the best hosiery to be had in-world, with several options of opacity and derniers, low-rise versions are also available for tummy baring short or skirts.
I am clearly as addicted to accessorizing as I am to the clothing I wear, and I always love finding the perfect pieces to work with an outfit. I have these very practical rules about necklaces, for instance, I never wear a necklace with a gown that has a high neckline, and I never clutter up a detailed cuff with bangles. So there is a method to my madness. In this case, the slightly street goth look I was going for made the choice of this Red Ruin Black Gothic Lolita Necklace a natural pick. I really wear this *UnTone* Black Heart Bracelet quite a bit, it adds interest without being too fussy. A low neckline and exposed ears make for an opportunity to wear a dangle earring, and I think these -EARTHTONES- Circle Earrings with Crystal Teardrops get a lot of mileage with the scripted crystals that can be colour changed to coordinate with pretty much anything. The bag was another great find from [Pink Outfitters], the Ribbon Tote is so cute, and it comes in some really nice bold colours, I love kitschy details, and the magazines, bottled water, and yes, that's a banana peeking out from inside, make me feel like I can power shop to my hearts content. Great opaque hose let you have a little fun with footwear, and these adorable Sassy wedges from Maitreya really work well here, with the bows at the ankles, and the peep toe, they make for a playful match to the dress. Caroline's Jewelry is the place to nab this great big Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring, the most often worn item in my inventory.
I love two-toned hair, and some of the best available hands-down is from Here Comes Trouble. This Luna style is another winner, with height, flexi long strands, and a punky fresh look. These Exclusive two-toned wigs are on the whole fabulous, and I am busy collecting them all. One of my favorite skins from Celestial Studios is this amazing Infrared Make-up in the Charmed Line. It is pretty dramatic, yet not over-the-top, and I wear it with slightly more Gothic looks. Separated Lashes are from Cake, and Decollage provides these great Hazel Eyes that contrast so well with the red eye-shadow. To put it simply, I am elated with all my new finds from Retrology's newest vendors, and will be visiting their mainstores very soon.

Orange You Glad...
I have very little [CRAP] in my closets, no seriously, I don't own very many of Tenshi Vielle's creations. It's not that I don't like them, it's more because of her heavy use of prim parts that don't agree with my bust line. When Tenshi released this sweet little Rain Coat, I knew that finally there was something I could work with. Why it is called a Rain Coat only Tenshi could explain, it covers very little, but I love this vibrant Orange version, and was drawn to it's silky feminine style. I love the little button details on the collar, cuffs, and chest. This is one piece of [CRAP] I am glad to own. I paired it up with these great Plaid Pants with an orange accent from ~~Ivalde~~ (then Embla), part of the Amanda set, though I am not certain it is still being sold.
I had been waiting for an opportunity to wear these great Dolly Sandals in Orange from =DeLa*=, and I am glad I got them squeezed in before the seasons officially change. I love the stacked heel, and the bright orange colour is just delicious. This Porta Corsico Bag from [Armidi Gisaci] works surprisingly well here, and even though the colour is noted as Gold & Grey, it has an almost orange brown tone to it. I have to admit it, if there is one thing I always seem to like from Armidi, it's the shoes, bags, and other accessories. Dark Mouse, new to the Retrology SIM has some great accessories, but I especially love the belts, and this Ostrich and Tortoise Belt is a favorite. -EARTHTONES- makes some of my favorite casual jewelry in-world, and this great Goldust and Cedar Bangles Set is a wonderful example of the great items you can discover there. I am also wearing my Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring from Caroline's Jewelry, which I wear almost all the time as it is my engagement ring.
I have always loved the bright and silky Silver hair from -=H2L=-, and this Mio style that I snagged at the Hair Fair is another new favorite. It is sleek and smooth, and I love that is shows off some cute ear. One of my favorite Canimal skins is this Pinup make-up in the Essence Line. I love the red lip and the earthy smokey green shadow. Separated Lashes are from Cake, and eyes are the ultra affordable Hazel Eyes from Decollage. I always love wearing bright vibrant colours, they just have this instant mood lifting quality for me. It makes me glad that I found a little bit of [CRAP] tucked away in my inventory.

Home At Last...
So what has this little fashion addict been up to this past week, well I can tell you it has not been anything anyone would envy. No fancy vacations, no big exciting changes in work or family, nope, I was in hospital. Last Friday night I felt pretty ill after my DJ gig at PIN UPS, and found I was running a fever, took a nap and woke up to some serious abdominal ouchies. So into the Emergency Department I went, as a nurse I stay away from the patient side of the bed if at all possible, and whoopie doo, I was really actually very critically ill. I avoided surgery by a hair, and spent several days doped up in a coma like state, it sounds more fun then it actually is. When I finally made it back home, heading in-world was never less appealing. Compared to bed and copious amounts of Percocet, I mean, really! I finally felt well enough to DJ my regular Friday event last night, and would have spent today in bed recovering if we didn't need a last minute fill in tonight. So, I am back in action, and that means back to blogging, the guilt about not posting was getting to me. I am so responsible, even when high as a kite.
So this is the look I was wearing the night that I got sick, and when it came to blogging it, I was glad. It is cozy, and real, and the kind of thing I would be wearing while wrapped in my comforter watching the US Presidential Debate. Good Times. With the addition of [Pink Outfitters] to Retrology, I discovered this great shop for the first time, and the one must-have for me was this awesome Cropped Hoodie in Kiwi. The perfect item to layer with, and the sculpted hood is really well done. It comes in half a dozen delicious colours, but I couldn't resist the green. How [Pink Outfitters] escaped my notice until now, I have no idea, but I have the mainstore on my "Must Shop" list now. I threw a great basic tucked T-Shirt on, this Neko Case Tee was a find from *Bagley* when the Starlust Motel first opened, and I believe it was a dollarbie. I love tucked options with tops and wish more people offered them, not everybody wants their belly hanging out all the time. The yummy Violet Skinny Jeans are from Gbberish, a place you have to visit, particularly for the amazing shoes. I thank Anessa for that hot tip, the girl knows where to find shoes to die for.
Shoes are the brilliant new Pornstar Xtra Hi-Tops from Urban Bomb Unit. These shoes have so many scripted options, you could spend over half an hour just playing with the options. I love this (Yummy) Fanny Pack EXTREEEME!, and have worn it quite a bit. It is great with a casual look where carrying a purse just seems silly. This great Blue Strawberry Necklace was a discovery at *i-Candy*, one of my favorite new places for accessories. (Shiny Things) offers up this cute Roses and Thorns Ring, part of a great set that was a gift from Draco early in our relationship. I love small prim work, and (Shiny Things) has the skill down to a art in their jewelry. Some simple but cute Beads and Bangles from WRONG add to the casual pieced together feel of this look.
Another Hair Fair find for me was hair from Eat Rice!, and this Vylorna wig is so fun with a touch script to change the colour of the front section. It is like Manic Panic to the Nth degree, change your look entirely with one click. Skin is Celestial Studios Charmed Line, the Purple Sunset make-up is another long time fave. I love these spider like Club 1 Lashes from Celestial Studios, a great dramatic look even when going with a grungier style. Eyes are beauties from Miriel, the Hazel Eye in the Big size is more like jewelry then any other eyes I have seen. So I guess I am officially back into blogging action, and can't wait to see what recent purchases I have already forgotten about. It's like finding hidden treasures. Apologies in advance for being wordy, a wonderful side effect of prescribed narcotics.

Seeking Refuge
It seems that the season of hats is upon us. Most of my posts this week have included great hats, which is perfectly fine with me, as the fall season is so much more my speed. This great wig/hat combination from Refuge is another winner I picked up at the Hair Fair. Refuge hair is another new discovery for me. What can I say, this Alex hair is cute, the hat is really funky, adorned with cool buttons, and better yet it's texture/colour change so that you can make it match your look with one click. Hair like this basically dictates the kind of look you want to wear with it, in this case a little bit of sweetened grunge. Whenever I am working a look with a bit of street cred, I gravitate towards my Canimal skins. This is the Essence of Ether skin with some awesome purple smokey shadow is a great start, and I paired it with a dramatic pair of Flamenco Trash Lashes in Purple, also from Canimal. A great pairing, these lashes in particular are really great, I have them in several colours and they are the fastest way to change the look of a skin. Eyes are my first real set, purchased about twenty months ago and still favorites. The Freak Fantasia Glassy Mustard Green Eyes have a lovely watery gloss shine to them.
I love pairing pink and grey, and with a camoflage event at PIN UPS, I was going with greyscale camouflage, so set the hat colour to pink. I have had these /artilleri/ Camo Girlie pants for eons, I like the baggy look and the length of them. I pulled on a Gray Camo Bra from ETD Clothes, part of a set, and though not a perfect match, close enough. I also brought in a great Charcoal Cowl Sweater from Little Rebel. I love this sweater when layering, it is sexy with the deep cowl, and works easily with a bra or camisole under it. The sweater can be worn with a more casual look, like this one, but also can be worn with a great pair of dressy slacks for a more classy look. Clothes that can do double duty are so much more fun and a real value asset in a wardrobe.
These great MK Fashion Super Sneaks Platform Hi-Hi Tops, are long time favorites. The are big and chunky, and are scripted to colour change.
Whenever I wear them, people ask for the landmark, they are just a great option and work really well with capris or short skirts. Using them to echo the pink in the hat here is a really fun option. The White Stripey Skull Bag from WRONG adds a little more interest, it comes in a bunch of colours, and is really an inexpensive indulgence. I can never have enough bags. I pulled on the must-have /artilleri/ Pyramid Studs Belt, still my favorite belt of all time, I wear it endlessly for it's grunge and rockabilly appeal. Some simple Black Jelly Bracelets from [Od] work well here, and overall stay with the casual mood on this look. Now I am off, to seek out refuge, to see what else they have to offer, I am entirely intrigued.

Green & White Socialite
Colour Events at PIN UPS give me the opportunity to dive into my inventory and search by colour, something I only do on these occasions. I am always surprised to find things that I had long forgotten, or new items I have yet to wear. On Tuesday night, DJ Azu gave us a great party, and the theme was "The White Party". I hit search and came up with this amazing new Dita Knit Blouse sweater from *PERSONA*, a copy sent to me by the amazing Myllie Writer. This is a great item, the sculpted cowl (for lack of a better word) is really well placed, and really works well when dancing or moving. The texturing on the sweater is also nicely done, and is particularly evident on this White version, though it comes in about 10 gorgeous colour options, the perfect sweater to wear as the cool fall weather descends on us. I also rediscovered these great Trouble Jeans in White, a great pair of Pants from (Pixeldolls), the texturing in grey is very similar to the sweater, and so they work well with it. I am not certain these are still available as they are from old stock that was largely discontinued, but (Pixeldolls) is an amazing shop, and if you are not a member of the Subscribe-O-Matic group, I urge you to join, the free gifts tumble in faster then I can wear them.
I also hit on these sexy Stiletto Moody Foxy Slingback in Litchi White, that Stiletto sent to me for a Vain Inc. Magazine shoot several months back. What I think is so great about these shoes is the use of gold and silver accents, which make them very wearable no matter what your accessory preferences. I pulled on a great belt to add a little interest, this Gold Chain Belt with Fur from *UnTone* actually came with black fur accents, but in an attempt to make the gold colour less vibrant, I accidentally tinted the whole belt white instead of just certain parts, so now it is white. Yes, I am a hopeless klutz on a good day, and have only recently mastered basic modify by selecting individual parts skills. On my last trip to Caroline's Jewelry, I picked up this great Dai Suki Earrings and Ring set in Gold. I love the idea of linked hearts, they are really sweet with out being too kitschy, they have a nice classic feel to them and Caroline Apollo always prices her items well within reach. I always like to pull in at least one key accent colour with a monochromatic look, and choose this *Muism* Crocodile Skin Bag. How could I resist my favorite colour after all.
Marleen Vaughan of ..Marlys.. actually leaked this amazing new wig to me before the Hair Fair, and I kept it under wraps until it's official release. We stood on the hills of Floyd and thought up crazy names for her new wigs, but I think that this Miss Oats, Klonopin Socialite is one of the best. The hair is a big fabulous wig on it's own, the amazing sculpted fedora included, and it is touch scripted so that you can tint the hat to any of dozens of amazing colours, I choose the green to match my handbag of course. Another fabulous skin from Celestial Studios, which are classics to me, this is the Blue Evening make-up from the Charmed Line. Love Lashes from [Detour] and Glassy Mustard Green Eyes are from Freak Fantasia cap off the essentials. So this is a monochrome look with a little twist, and I would be lying if I didn't admit that from the back, it had me thinking of that very memorable backwards suit Celine Dion wore to the Oscars one year. Her music, by the way, is banned at PIN UPS, just one of the perks of being the boss.

Girlz In The Hoods
Sometimes, a look starts from the top down. This one started while exploring my Hair Fair folder, having long since forgotten what exactly I purchased. I somehow snagged this Aitui Hair in my travels, I think it was mainly because of the sweet hood with the hanging tassels, the two-toned hair, and the fact that I had no idea Aitui made hair. Clearly, I need to get out more. This Backfire style comes in His & Her Versions, and I believe the flowers on the ends of the hood are scripted to colour change. I really love two-toned hair, and so the choice was pretty easy for me, picking up this Mulatto version. The texture on the black hair are very well done, the blond is a little more rough, but most of the streaky bits are well under the hood. I felt the forehead was a little exposed, so I tacked on some ETD Right Swept Bangs. I find Elika's separate bangs so useful in so many situations, and they are a great option when you don't have time to modify a whole wig. I was going with a grungier look here, so went with the Canimal Essence of Frost Skin, which has some awesome blue make-up and blue tinted lips, while both Delta Eyes and Love Lashes are from [Detour].
Going with the knit hood, I searched my inventory for a black knit sweater, and luckily came up with this great High Neck Long Sweater from *amerie's Naughty*. This sweater can be worn as a top layer short sweater, or you can wear the pants part and skirt piece for a mini-dress style with a pair of leggings. I love these Sam Glam Pants Scrunched Up Jeans from LeeZu Baxter. There just seems so funky and cool, and the hand painted textures on the pockets and odd stitching make them look lived in. The awesome Stripe Wool Sox come from *mia* of MiaSofia, and I loved that they are different lengths on each leg, like one is slipping down into your boot. I hate when that happens in RL, but it always does anyway, and it is so much less bothersome in-world. The socks come in a great pack with about 6 colour version, and they were hella cheap.
With so many prims in the sweater and pants, I went with a simple bag with a little character from ::BONEFLOWER::. This Military Shoulder Bag comes in a pack with several flag versions, but I went with the Beijing version in honor of the recent Olympic Games. Great boots from Maitreya do the trick, keeping with the slouchy and scrunched theme, the Dune Boot is a must have as a sleek medium height boot that, though a very high heel, sidesteps the all too common uber-sexed look. A simply Silver banded Solitaire Ring with a colour change crystal is all the jewelry that I needed with this look. A simple look, inspired by a great tasseled hood and hair combo, a little grunge on-the-go.

The Party Girl
Putting an outfit together is usually something that takes me quite a bit of time. Choosing the right shoes, accessories, hair, skin, lashes, it is an obsession, and takes the better part of half an hour when I can spare the time. But on the night of my shared Birthday Party with my sister Anessa, I literally went from a Pajama Party Event that ended at 9PM SLT, to the Birthday Bash Anessa had organized for 9PM SLT within 10 minutes. How does one go from a pair of PJs and Slippers to party ready in a flash? It's a little thing I like to call the party dress, and when I was looking for something with WOW factor and little effort, I dove into my inventory and found this amazing Auto De Fe Black Dress from Big Booty Big Money.
I had wanted it for ages, and when Evelyn Edelman of BBBM was closing her shop on [ENVY], she had a huge sale and I finally snagged it. I really love the bow details on the hem, they look like a cross between butterflied and small knotted ribbons, they are really spectacular. The bodice of the dress is one of the most daring plunge v-necks I have ever worn, and frankly, there is no way I could wear something like this in RL, but it is really a creative masterpiece, the greys and blacks accented with a soft lilac shade. It pretty much screams "Party Dress".
Next, think shoes, what one pair of shoes goes with almost everything? Well the Maitreya ChiChi Pump of course! When Onyx LeShelle released them, I could only afford two pair, so I opted for the white and the black versions. I wear them both, very often, and the scripted colour change rims make them customizable to match your look best. When Caroline Apollo debuted her recent releases, I headed out to Caroline's Jewelry to get a pile of new baubles for myself, courtesy of my man Draco's gift of shopping LaLas. I had purchased this great Broken Long Strand Black Pearls necklace in the shop, before wandering outside to take a look around and discovering that the Lucky Chair had a scripted version that you or anyone else can break apart with a click on the lower part of the long loop. Draco stood by as I waited for over an hour to see my letter come up, worth every second, as I adore scripted jewelry. Speaking of scripted, this set of ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ Gem Jelly Donut Bangles are the perfect accessory when time is short, with one click you can make them match anything by setting the gem and bangle colours. I pulled on a great Princess Ring from Paper Couture when I got back to my studio to take these shots, also adding this cute Nerdy Birdy bag.
I wore a different hair style to the party, for a more "me" look, but later put on this great Teagan style from ~Tickled Pink~, another Hair Fair find. I love a cute up-do, and this one is really sweet, I especially like the texturing on it, the transition from a darker black to a more smokey black colour on the tips. Parties call for party pretty make-up, so I went with this glittery eyed Silver 2 make-up from Celestial Studios Charmed Line. Also wearing Delta Eyes in Hazel from [Detour], and Bedroom Lashes from Cake. So I went from pajamas to party ready in about 10 minutes, a record time for me. It should be an Olympic Sport!

A Highland Fling!
Every now and again, I get inspired and think of insane Events for PIN UPS. A few weeks ago, while DJing, we were discussing favorite movies and hit upon "So I Married An Axe Murderer". If you have not seen it, you simply must. Mike Myers is an absolute scream, playing both the lead, and his own father, and he does a brilliant Scottish accent. We all started quoting the film, "Head... Move!", and then I came up with my latest hair-brained idea, let's do an "If It Ain't Scottish It's Crap" Event! Sound like great fun, we all go get a nice tartan, we get to see men in kilts, WIN/WIN. I had no idea how hard it would be to actually find a suitable costume for the event. There is little to be had in traditional Scottish attire for women, and what I did find was pretty primitive in design. I literally spent days looking for something, and then with only ten minutes to spare, hit SLX hoping to get lucky. I purchased the first costume I found that looked authentic (there are a lot of teensie prim mini-skirts that claim to be Scottish costumes), and threw the folder on myself with moments to spare before the event started. I think I must have had the fashion angels looking out for me, this amazing Ja Sa' Lady of Boldness costume is traditional, beautiful, and I felt like a Celtic Princess in it.
I adore this Juliana Style from ETD, it is perhaps one of 10 styles I will wear with any regularity, it is simply lovely. I really like the small curl on the forehead, it has a decidedly retro flavor, while still looking polished and contemporary depending on what you wear it with. I managed to snag the Naturals I pack, so having it in 5 shades makes it really wearable. I have mentioned it before, but this is actually the second premium skin I ever purchased, and my first from Celestial Studios. This Charmed Line Earth 4 Skin is the one that makes me feel most like myself, if that makes any sense, and it will always be my favorite. Eyes are the luminous Splatter from Big Booty Big Money's Watery Eyes in the Mud colour pack. Separated Lashes are from Cake.
I went light on accessories, but couldn't resist this amazing new release from Caroline's Jewelry. Caroline Apollo is endlessly talented, and her new releases are truely objects of desire. This Black Pearl and Diamond Flower Set in the Silver setting is lovely, and includes these great stud earrings as well as a matching ring. I am also wearing another piece from (Caroline's), my Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring. I wore a simple pair or flats from (Shiny Things), these Cocoa Ballet Flats have an ankle wrap, and work well with a lot of costume looks. So off I went, exploring the Second Life Eilean Donan Castle Recreation, an ancient Scottish Castle built, and I felt perfectly at home, it was a joyous fling with another fabulous traditional costume.

Happy Birthday To Me!
So this is it, my big day, I should say "Our" big day, as I share my birthday with my RL twin sister Anessa Stine. I am not a huge fan of birthdays in general, after the age of 21, they sort of lose their charm. But this year seems to be a big one, I am turning 36. I had this whole life plan, all these things I had hoped I would accomplish by this age, but I think that the most important thing to learn is that some of the things you thought you would accomplish are not as important as the things you actually have. I have some of the most amazing friends, amazing in the way they are there for me when I need them, but also amazingly talented. I first met Trixi Palen when she was visiting PIN UPS as a regular guest, then applied to become on of out PIN UPS GIRLS. She is the kind of person you can't help but adore, she is always positive, no matter what life brings her, and she has had her share, she is everyone's cheerleader, and she is dependable and grounded. When I started my own little foray into clothing creation in-world, Trixi thought I was amazing. I encouraged her to give it a try, and in just a few short months, this brilliant girl has left me in the dust. For my birthday, Trixi decided to combine the things I love, and make something just for me. Green, sari fabrics, and love make this Sari Kets from her shop **Trixi Stix** an absolute favorite. Having something named after you is perhaps the best compliment ever. I am wearing this for my birthday post not just because it was made as a special gift, but because I genuinely love it. I can't wait to see what Trixi will come up with next, and she has only just gotten started.
It was easy to accessorize this look, green and gold are like a match made in heaven. I started with these great Real Toe Gather Wedge Sandals in Gold from J's, trying to get some use out of them before summer officially ends. I still laugh at the four toes question, perhaps in-world our avatars have evolved to the point that the fifth toe is like a vestigial tail, some questions may never be answered. I simply adore these bangles from =DeLa*=, the Bellini Bangle in Deepforest is a lovely stack of rings, though it looks like it could be sculpted. The texturing is so well done, it almost has a crocodile skin appearance. The set comes with two version, the other is without the gold accents. I pulled in more gold with the Foscani Bag in 24K Gold from [Armidi Gisaci], a great big sculpted tote, and a great all season bag. I had been waiting for an opportunity to wear one of the amazing Zaara: Bindis, a fabulous freebie in her shop, this is the Green version, but the gift pack comes with several colours. The area between the eyebrows where the bindi is worn, is the sixth chakra, Ajna, the seat of "concealed wisdom". For followers of Tantrism, this chakra is the exit point for kundalini energy. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration, & is said to also protect against demons or bad luck. And lets face it, they look amazing. Also wearing my Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring from Caroline's Jewelry.
[Aden] has always been one of my favorite hair shops, and I eagerly grabbed up this great Kendra style while at the Hair Fair. Another great long style, I particularly like the way the front is sculpted around the body, instead of mostly sticking through your chest like many long styles do. This is the Canimal Essence of Roses Skin, I love the red stained lips on this skin. Splatter Eyes are from Big Booty Big Money, and Cake's Separated Lashes complete the essentials here. The perfect look for my birthday post; new things I love, my long time favorites, and something very special from my very best friend. Trixi will be releasing this Sari outfit in a few colour variation shortly, so take a look at her **Trixi Stix** shop in the Obscure Finds Flea Market on Retrology, and in the soon to be open Horst State Penn.

Doing Time In Horst
Melatonin Hax is a down girl, she is one of the most marvy people I have ever met. She is cool but it is effortless, she is smart, and funny, and has great taste in tunes. She is also half of the think-tank from *Thimbles*, and the genius behind ::SPLIT PEA:: Hats. She has been busy the last few weeks, and I can tell you now that you will be very happy that she has been. Take a look at your maps, class, and look at the new neighbors to Floyd and Lloyd, home of the Starlustrious Peoples. There are some new kids on the block named Polly Jean and Horst. Mel and the rest of the Starlust Crew have been very busy, filling up another SIM with fabulous, and having spent a little time in Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen, you will see why you would be willing to kill to get in behind those bars. A whole crop of fabulous new shops, or inmates as we call them, have set up on Cell Block H, and you are going to love it! Mel sent me this adorable ::SPLIT PEA:: Horst Von Starlustinberg State Pen Pillbox Hat with Veil this week, and I was dying to put a look together to showcase this adorable creation. I can't wait till the official opening of Horst so that you all can get a look, it is going to be a great place to discover new-to-you content.
When I think prison, I think stripes, so I went for it with this adorable dress from **THE CLOSET**. The Scale Print Dress comes in a number of colour combinations, but the black and white stripes make it slimming and eye catching. I really like the ruffled details on the cap sleeves. So many colours to work with here, but I decided to stay with the black and white, and paired the dress with a great White pair of Tights from Blaze*. These shoes are absolutely drop dead fabulous too. The Death Dolly Goth Mary Jane Pumps from Unique Needs! are the antidote to sugary sweet Mary Janes, with rows of spikes and skull and crossbones adornments. I love a chunky pump like this, and pairing it with a pale opaque tight and mini-dress is always a great move. A fabulous bag from **DP**yumyum means I can carry all those prison essentials, shiv, cigarettes to barter with, maybe some girly mags for those lonely nights. This is one of the great Vinyl Totebags offered by **DP**yumyum, and the selection is great, as is the price. Now to the prison meals, nothing better then some ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~ to make doing hard time a little easier, and the new Turkish Delight Bracelet Set is a great way to go. These sets from come in several combinations, a real departure from the candy colours I normally associate with the shop, and the price of $100 LaLas for a set is a steal.
Hair is more Hair Fair fabulousness, this wig is from Philotic Energy, one of my longtime favorites. I love the texture of this Charcoal with White Tips Colour, and the Adi style works well with the Pill Box Hat too. Skin is Canimal's Essence of Pinup, an absolute favorite, and eyes are the piercingly sexy Splatter Eyes from the Watery Eyes - Mud Collection at Big Booty Big Money. If prison garb looked this sexy, people would be desperately trying to get in rather then out. I await the opening of Horst, so I can do the Jail House Rock reenactments I have been longing for.

To The Butt Cape!
There are some days, when you just don't know what to wear, skirt or pants? Well fear not fashion crusaders, for the Butt Cape will save the day! On my last trip to *i-Candy* I spotted this handy garment, and thank goodness for the demo version on the wall or I may have past on my new favorite fashion trend. I say embrace the Butt Cape, here in Black and Leopard Print, make it your friend, it will cover your ass when the going gets tough, or just come along for the ride when are having bootie-ful day. All kidding aside, a great option when you want to layer and add interest, and it served as the inspiration for this whole look. The *i-Candy* Butt Cape comes in about five color options, so go check them out. I threw on a pair of great Black Zippy Pants from WRONG, as well as the WRONG Moto Jacket, going with black basics to keep things simple. I also tinted up one of the /artilleri/ Zee Tank Tops to match the caramel colour of the Leopard Print in the cape.
The neck of the Moto Jacket seemed somewhat unfinished, unless I lost some prims along the way (it happens with my bulging inventory), so I threw on the fabulous *Muism* Crinkle Scarf in the small size. I always recommend buying white versions of scarves and other accessories if they are mod, I tinted this one up black, to match this look, but it could be made to match anything, and it is like getting a fatpack for the price of a single item. Not everything tints up as easily, some sculpties have baked textures that make it difficult, but in many cases, you can tint to match. I had been dying to get these amazing Canimal Boneyard Voodoo Stilettos on my feet. How sexy and sinister at the same time, the sharp pointed toe and dangerous looking heel are brilliant for my Butt Cape crusades, and look like weapons of mass seduction. This All Colors pair is scripted so you can match them well with a lot of looks. The little skulls and bones made me snap to the perfect hat to match this look, the ::69:: Succubus Hat in Black and Leopard was made for this outfit. This adorable wee chapeau is adorned with bows, flowers, hearts, and a friendly boney pair of lovers, fresh from the grave. This hat on it's own is a statement piece, but somehow it works well with this whole pieced together look, and ::69:: does some great accessories. My wrists felt a tad bare, so I added on some great Heartwood Bangles from -EARTHTONES-, the Gold accented set comes with two versions, and I chose one of each to mix things up a bit.
This hair was another "New-To-Me" discovery from the Hair Fair, as I had not been so lucky as to encounter Novocaine Hair before. This Sildete style is great choppy and shaggy wig, and yet smooth enough on top to work with a hat, which is always a plus, so much of my great hair is not "Hat-Friendly". Note to self, wear more hats. Cake Bedroom Lashes frame glossy Glassy Mustard Green Eyes from Freak Fantasia. Skin is PXL Crys, with Dark Eye make-up and Coffee Kissed Lips, a lovely skin, and the eyebrows are one of my favorite parts. So now I will get my outfitted self back to the Butt Cave to think up more awesome ways to wear the Butt Cape, until then Citizens of the Fashion Planet, I bid you farewell.

Holey Knit Wit
The cooler fall weather is the perfect excuse to bring out the knitwear. One of my favorite textures, and one that is very difficult to work with in-world, is knit. There is plenty of it around, but finding good realistic looking knit wear is difficult. One of my favorite sweaters, is this Holey Sweater from Surf Couture. It is a fantastic item for layering, as it works nicely over almost any T-shirt, and in comes in about a dozen amazing colours. This Blue one was the perfect started for this look, and since my favorite colour to wear with blue in chocolate brown, the rest came together pretty easily. I have had this Brown Cord Mini from Naughty Designs longer then I can remember, but it is a sweet little skirt, and the heavier corduroy fabric is a perfect match to fall knit wear. I tucked one of my favorite tank tops underneath the sweater, this Pushbutton Industries The Error top in Chestnut with Blue is a great option, as it comes with a tucked or untucked version on all layers. It picks up on both the blues and browns in this casual and flirty look. I adore socks with mini-skirts, and [MG Fashion] has fabulous packs of Knitted Socks that have any colour you could ever want, which is one of my favorite things about [MG Fashion]. I picked up three packs all together, and this great Brown pair was in the Pack 01. A great over the knee sock to pair with minis, shorts, or babydoll dresses, the knit texture is great for the upcoming season.
I went with a boot from Pixeldolls (Luna Viola), the Desert Boot is a great short sculpted boot, that comes in a pack with a black or brown accented version, and the boot colour is HUD Scripted to change to one of 6 great colours, so it is like 12 pair of boots for one great price. I added a casual Denim Hobo Bag from Celestial Studios, one of my all time favorite bags. As a lover of Indian Culture, this Ganesha Necklace from -EARTHTONES- is a special favorite. Ganesha is one of the most identifiable of all the Hindu deities, widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings, patron of arts and sciences, and the Deva of intellect and wisdom. You can't really beat that as an ornamental amulet. This simple set of Rust Wire Bangles from Philotic Energy, is really neat looking, and I honestly don't remember how I acquired it, but I am glad they are in my massive inventory, I think they work well with this look.
Now that the Hair Fair is over, it is time to showcase more of my favorites, like this Maitreya Chloe style. I love the relaxed knit wool cap, and it is scripted to change colours with a click. This brown was the perfect match for this look. The sculpted chunks of hair are really great, I love the way it covers half the face, very sexy. The blue of this Canimal Essence of Frost skin work well here too, picking up on the blues in the outfit nicely. Bedroom Lashes are from Cake, and eyes are Glassy Mustard Green from Freak Fantasia. I am anxiously awaiting fall and winter releases with more great knit textures, somehow the cooler weather just seems for natural for me, even in-world. Must be the weather in Toronto, even though we have scorching summers, I am far more a fan of the fall and winter weather.

Grey is The New Black
I have been meaning to take a look at some of the wonderful things being sent to me by friends and as review packs from the amazing content creators who send me their new items. Lyra Muse of Jaywalk frequently sends me shoes and now her new clothing line, and it was time I had a good look. So glad I did, as this amazing Delora Corset Shirt is just the kind of thing I love. It is a jacket layer top, with a great slimming grey corset, and the upper blouse part is available in a number of great colours, all with a tie collar, really classy. While each shirt comes with a co-ordinating collar, I decided to use the one from the Grey set with this Mint version. While skimming this months Vogue magazine, I hit upon an article proclaiming Grey the new 'Black'. With that in mind, I dove into another great pack of fabulous from *PERSONA*'s Myllie Writer, these amazing Barb Plaid Pants in Charcoal, I love a great dress pant, something polished and clean, and classic. The combination of prints here, the delicate pinstripe of the corset, matched with the fine plaid of the slacks work really well together.
Shoes were another gift sent to me by Lyanis Sin, her new Lya Nichelle Pumps, which I have showcased before, are some of my favorites. I adore the suede texture, the almost opalescent quality of the textures, and the entire fatpack is well worth the LaLas. All the colours are similarly delicious, I love this soft green Emerald pair, and the suede is the perfect look for the upcoming fall season. I had seen this [gisele] handbag blogged before on the feeds, and I am terrible for not writing down who brought it to my attention, I am so glad they did. The Maman bag comes in a two colour pack, this is the Ecru version, each version coming with two possible hold positions. The copper colour accents are lovely. I pulled in some simple Sculpted Sugar Copper Gem Bangles from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, using the script to set the gems to Onyx. Sweetie Pye tells me she has some great new pieces due out soon, and I can't wait to see what is coming for fall. This amazing Rommy Ring came in a review pack from Burroughs, it had so many items in it I wasn't even sure I could look at them all, but I am glad I pulled this ring out, it is completely scripted, with colour change pearl, metal, and a resizer script. I set to to the coppery coloured metal to match the rest of the accessories, and it is a perfect compliment to this look. I am anxious to see what else Burroughs has to offer. Earrings are from -EARTHTONES-, I adore these Circles Earrings with Teardrops, as the crystal can be changes to dozens of colour options to match any look.
A polished look calls for a polished coif, this one from The Abyss, whose hair is remarkably low prim and really stylish. The asymmetrical Aeon Bob is lovely, I particularly like the texturing at the nape of the neck, where it looks like a natural hairline. Another favorite Celestial Studios skin from the Charmed Line, this is the soft Orchid make-up, which is really pretty with the stunning Big Hazel Eyes from Miriel. Separated Lashes are from Cake. If grey is indeed the new 'Black' this season, I am over the moon, grey works so beautifully with almost any colour, and is flattering on pretty much everyone, as well as a slimming and classic wardrobe staple.

Red Foxy
Oh how I love to discover "New to Me" designers. I had never heard of *Fishy Strawberry* before this week, but how could you forget a name like that? Although it is not the palatable of names, the offerings at *Fishy Strawberry* are a delight. I first nabbed this great pair of Gold Jeans, which come will full length and the Capri versions I am wearing, and several cuff options, including a sculpted version. The next bit of yumminess I purchased was this great Minihood Jacket, with sculptie arms and hood. The colour selections are out of this world, the shop is adorable and then some, and the clothes are sweet and fun, they even have some men's items in store. Right next door is the new mainstore for *i-Candy*, a shop I have visited and shopped in the past. Some seriously cute items, from the Boom Box Bags (there is one for sale as a Dollarbie in the shop, grab it!), the the high-top chucks, and even some great Harajuku mini-skirts. On this trip to *i-Candy* I picked up this adorable Green Butterfly Ring. I am always on the hunt for big impressive rings, so I was thrilled to but to find this cute little guy to take home with me.
I had been using the same ears and tail for the "Naughty Nekos" events at PIN UPS for a long time, and decided it was time for a change. I headed to *=Hybrid=*, perhaps the best place for a Neko to start, and picked up this adorable Kitsune Starter Set. Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox, and I love the tail and soft velvety looking ears, the set is fully scripted, with more options that I can figure out, but I decided to tint the parts a deep burgundy red, just my personal taste, but you can modify them dozens of ways. I have had this great T-Shirt from PanJen for ages, but it is still a favorite. The slogan "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life from a Broken Heart" is so up my alley, I believe that music can heal, and in our virtual world, the voice of a DJ is sometimes the most real thing about it. The belt is a great combo belt and purse from Cake. The Flexi Utilitarian Belt Bag is unisex, comes in two sizes, and each size had two possible attachment points. I love the little cell phone tucked in the pocket, details like that always make me smile. The shoes are the amazing REDGRAVE Sculpted Sneakers in Red Stripped, wish I had these in RL.
Another great wig from (JUNWAVE), this Spicy stile in this fabulous dark ruby like Red is a great piecey shag cut, I love wearing spiked punky cute hair with a street wear look. Canimal's Essence of Earth skin in the Grace tone this time, how I adore these skins, I am really enjoying them. Miriel really does make some of the most amazing eyes I have seen in-world, these Hazel Eyes are so lovely, the texture in them is like Jewelry, all her eyes are lovely, and worth a loog if you have never been. My favorite [Detour] Love Lashes make me feel very foxy indeed.

Passion Fruit
I have developed a passion for discovering the ingenious ways content creators are using sculpted prims. What started out as a default apple shape, has become everything imaginable, from furniture and build elements, to hair and accessories. When I see something that uses sculpted prims in new and creative ways, I simply am in awe. A few weeks back, when Quinlan Quimby released some new shoes and passed them to my sister Anessa, along with some new clothes, Anessa mentioned that I would love this gorgeous dress, so Quinlan sent it my way. I didn't have time to check it out right away, but I have always adored the offerings from TOSL (Tree and Ocean SL) and knew that the first chance I got, I wanted to take a look. This *Punk Princess* Dress in Royal Rose is almost everything but punk, it is a stunning party dress, and the way sculpties are used to wrap the torso in a corset like manner is really creative. The bodice is like a fan of ruffles, the skirt a gauze like poof of bubbles. The texturing is lovely, and this particular colour is delicious, like passion fruit straight from the tree.
A party dress needs party shoes, and these Stiletto Moody Pinup Pumps are my newest addiction. This is the Patent Color Set, which is scripted to change to over a dozen colours, and the metal accents can be changed or removed, making them incredibly versatile. Something about the shape is equal parts retro and modern. I can never resist a little kitsch, and when I spotted this adorable Toy Bear Bag at =Feather= while making my CSR rounds last week, I nabbed it. A friend commented that it looks like I decapitated a Teddy Bear, it's hysterical. I received some review copies of some fabulous new gems from *Cailyn's* creator Cailyn Miller, and the colour and style of this Aisha Necklace and Earrings matched so perfectly, I couldn't resist adding them to my look. I really love the random placement of gems versus links in the necklace, really a nice touch, and the simple drop earrings are not too big to make the jewelry seem too heavy when worn as a set. I threw on two favorites from ~*Fresh Baked Goods*~, always so great with the colour change scripted options, they can be worn with anything. The Sculpted Sugar Silver Gem Bangle, worn on the right wrist with gems set to Amber, and the Gem Jelly Donut Bangle in Silver set to an Orange Base and Amber gems work well to bring out the colours of the dress. Also wearing my Caroline's Gimcrack Diamond Solitaire Ring, as I feel practically naked without it.
Yet another great find at the Hair Fair is this short pixie from Color Me Couture. The Rho style is clean and sleek, almost boyish, and a nice balance to the sugary feminine confection of the dress. [Detour] Love Lashes compliment Big Hazel Eyes from Miriel. This skin is from PXL, and I am choosing to side-step the public debate on this item, as no DMCA has been filed and I don't want to act as judge and jury without due legal process. Hart Larsson IMd me last week to tell me that he had not been give notice of DMCA, and assured me the work was all his, today's "Final Word" from Laqroki adds still more confusion to the issue. But I had taken these pictures several days ago, before the issue was drawn out publicly again, so I am opting to go ahead with this post. I do like this PXL Crys skin, particularly the lovely full Raspberry Lips on this version. I hope the matter is resolved either by legal process or common agreement on the facts sometime soon. Neither party is benefiting from this ongoing dispute.
