To Summer in the Right Sort of Place Is Crucial

The Preppy Handbook reminds us that where one "summers" is as critical a choice as where one "preps." The Handbook states that most preppies are drawn to islands of both the New England and tropical variety.



The Handbook also sings the praises of that classic prep color combo pink/green. Here I've updated that look, making it equal parts Martha's Vineyard by day and South Beach by night. This is totally a look I've worn in RL and I think it just screams summer.



Fashionistas across the grid are buzzing about the Gos Espadrilles. For me, one of the exciting features is the mix-and-match aspect built into the shoes. After purchasing your initial pair, you buy subsequent pairs as an "update." This saves you money, and a script allows you to combine the color combos you've purchased. Brilliant! I used that feature here to continue my pink/green motif.



My summer go-to skin is going to be the Tuli Jade line. It has a subtle sophistication that I love. I've topped off my outfit with /artilleri/'s marla shades. Retro-style glasses have been popping up on the runways and I think these give this look a hip yet preppie touch.
